Title: Old hardware or what?
Post by: RentGPU on March 27, 2018, 10:45:17 AM
I have a number of gtx1060 and rxs 470 480 , does my hardware got old or what notice that the profitability decreased to half and still high difficulty is there a new hardware released or just miners are holding , does anyone know WTF is going on , the lowest profitability and the highest difficulty at same time ??? ???

No, your hardware is ok. It is just that the prices are REKT. Everything is down 70 percent and not looking good at the moment. Long story short, your HW is good.

I have a few  analysis (Maybe):

1. Because of price of bitcoin is decrease

2. The number of miner increase although  I know some miner stopped a mining Rig its.

3. In fact, indeed almost all price of altcoin was down. whether this situation is normal?.

Are you just woke up today?
May I know what coin you mine today?
Almost all coin has fallen in this Q1, it can call as Q1 tradition. But still, we can't say for sure what will be going to happen next. Current situation affected to coin prices and also miners itself.

Back to the point asked.
I'm not really sure what going on here, seems miners keep mining, they tried to survive and has big expectations that this is just Q1 tradition, and soon will be better.

Your profitability decreased at this moment just because its coins price has fallen, and your hardware seems pretty good enough for today, at least until the end of this year, who knows right?

In my opinion, as usual, alone in such moments, quietly wait, others worried and sell. who is right, only time will tell, good luck to us all.

On the contrary, your rx 470 and 480s are actually one of the most efficient mining GPUs out in the market right now. In terms of power consumption vs. hash rate these GPUs are king. I'd trade in some of my new VEGAs for more rx 470s or 480s if someone could guarantee that they are still in good condition.

I am expecting everyday difficulty will decrease due to high kwh miners switching off and yea this happened everytime coins price and profitability drops , but this time i can see difficulty is getting bigger no matter what profitability is so thats looks weird enough to ask about my hardware , and weird enough to let me think there is something wrong this time
How in hell we have those new comers in a fucked up profitabilty like this ?! , you see i am not asking a newbie shit question , there is a new situation this time

Your hardware seems ok but increases in difficulties and the market being quite down has resulted in significantly less profitability.

C'mon, you are a miner, you know hows difficulty work. When each coin will re-targeting the difficulty, what things that affected the difficulty and so on.

Refer to your question about newcomers, means you believe that difficulty increased caused by network Hashrate was growing effect from newcomers. And why in this current situation a ton newcomers coming.

My question is, which coin are you talking about? Take a look around, man. Not all coin increase on its diff. Diff increasing related to a few things, and one of those things is "how much hashrate on coin network", right? It's simple, let me give you an example. When miners who mine coin X, then, most of them left coin X to mine coin S. So, soon the difficulty of coin X would decrease, and the difficulty of coin S would decrease. Yes, many newcomers come at this moment, but they, not one only reason that the diff increased.

So the answer that makes sense related to your questions was:

Your profitability decreased at this moment just because its coins price has fallen, and your hardware seems pretty good enough for today, at least until the end of this year, who knows right?

Your hardware is good and Nvidia Gtx 1060 6gb is doing well compared to what the profitability is down in Rx series for Ethereum. Some colleagues of mine are telling me that when they started mining ethereum with their modified bios cards the daily amount in Ethereum was a lot bigger than it is now, in fact is about 60% less now they say. They haven't reported anything bad about Nvidia which they are still mining Zcash with it but I think even Nvidia has some profitability go down.

You are still good. I have one 9 months now with 4x470 cards, memory with Samsung chips. That is the most reliable thing that I had so far. I overclocked it hard and it's going flawlessly. With a room temperature of 36C in the summer, fans are below 40% cold as winter :) Power consumption 625w max but it is running blow 600w.

Your hardware is fine, the difficulty, prices and much more is what's currently going down, thus, ruining your rig's profitability. Not much you can actually do at the moment than hope that something actually changes in the future, which I highly doubt to be honest. I don't even know if it's profitable for some to mine anymore.

As I see it its is not your hardware that is causing the problem, since the RX 480 and the GTX 1060 is very much vialble for crypto mining and still a very much sought after GPUs today(unless Nvidia will release their 2000 series and AMD will do the same with their nezt gen GPU). The problem is tthe difficulty of mining and the price of the crypto you mine which is very low right now. For now you just need to bear with it since the prices is really low and wait for the prices of token and coins to go up again.
