Title: My recent alt purchase...
Post by: Poink on March 27, 2018, 02:56:09 PM
Given the "cheap" BTC price, I went in and bought some last night and re-invested it by buying the following alts...

ICX
VEN
NEO
RPX
QTUM
REQ
NANO

I already hold these before (out of my 24 coins) and just strengthened my position on them.  These coins represent 7 of my top 8 holding and chosen for (both short and long term) growth potential.  I believe these will outperform BTC or ETH growth wise but I could be mistaken.

Critique welcome.

I like ICX, NEO and QTUM, others are good as well. By the way a good portfolio.

outperform Bitcoin and Ethereum ?
if we are talking about price,i believe it should be because the price went down for more than 70% from its peak.
or basically everything is on discount right now,so no matter what coin it is,
it will go up in the future.
but if we are talking about popularity and technology,
none from it will outperform Bitcoin and Ethereum, because everything is created based on Bitcoin and the majority project created based on ERC20 which is from Ethereum.
(even though not all of it).
it was not our first time seeing it,if i remember it correctly we could see something like this last year.

Nano it's a good decision, The future of zero transaction its really helping like payment gateway and other think transaction. Example bitcoin need around 30 mins - 1 hour for a transaction using Nano can make all transaction more faster.

As I said, growth wise (in value).  I make investment decision based on the future value (i.e. how much I'll make), I can always shift/reinvest to another once goals are met.  Of course current value (because of the drop) is one of the major factors, tech is also a factor, team, news, RISK, etc...in short ,everything is considered.

I am sure there are many that will outperform these too but with considerable risk...these are IMHO high yield, low risk.  That is why I chose them.

NEO may be a potential coin.

I'm usually purchase coin that list on top 100 coinmarketcap but if you have different judgement , nobody knows exactly what will happen on those coin.
Just make sure if you're really want invest on those coin, you already investigate very carefully about coin's detail

I bought some ETH and BCH. The ETH has dropped a lot. The BCH (Bitcoin Cash) has not dropped so much.

Recently, I have purchased Bunny token which is altcoins for the adult & entertainment industry. And, I think this could be the only safe and anonymous payment method for the porn industry. And, this industry is now 103Bn of worth.

I own all of the coins mentioned except RPX. Will take a look and see if it also worth a place in the portfolio.

It is the 1st NEO based token to come out.  I liked it enough that I used to own 300 NEO worth of it.  Sold majority of it and my holdings up until yesterday was all basically FREE. :D

Decent purchase, I especially like NEO, Qtum, and RPX. I think all of them will skyrocket in 2018-2019. However, a 24-coin portfolio is a little bit a lot as for me.

I hear ya...however, 80% of my portfolio is on the top 6 coins.  The rest are hard core "speculations", cheap coins that may (or may not) amount to something.  That is my "gambling" pot.

Believe it or not, 2 of my top coins (ICX and VEN) are from that group... just got promoted recently. ;)

Nano, Neo and Icx are the ones with the most potential I believe.
Good portfolio.

Investment in top coins should always be part and rest some % in speculative coins which if it rises can give you amazing returns and if fallen means your value of those coins would be next to zero. this coins are generally very cheap in price so upside/downside is significant.

Good coins they have potential, but buy also 0x and OAX. 0x is like ethereum of the trading and oax is very good project. They can be better investments than those you invested in.

I agree the list is kind of nice. Neo, Nano and Qtum sound especially good to me. Icon is cool,  because Korean government supports this ICO! They have huge support, so perhaps investing in this coin is also a cool one. I am not that sure about ven, though. I hear it was rebranded and this is probably what brought attention to this project again.
It's cool some people are actually benefiting from the market bleeding by really investing in it. I bought coins before the drop and didn't have strength to sell in time, so now I am down on the investments and that kind of doesn't stimulate to buy some more.

No doubt you have solid holdings and these will give you good results as soon as market recovers from bears and bulls takeover the market and give hodlers some nice reward.

VEN , NEO , QTUM and NANO are the best !! just hold them and never sell. I dont know how long you wanna hold them but if you wait at least one year you will have big gain in the end. VEN can make new ath in September. NEO can make 3x in any time . Qtum will grow  every 3 months. First rule is btc price for now so wait until btc recover if you wanna sell before new ath's.

I have no plans to sell (yet) but part of my strategy is to collect earnings depending on each coin's trigger (usually at x3 the purchase price-- but may vary depending on activity at that point).  It worked for me so far and I don't plan on changing it.

I may also flip/trade if I have sense an upcoming drastic BTC price movement (up or down).

And the ripple does not bother you, what can one say here that everyone buys in their capabilities. You have both promising coins, the same neo and nano and quite cloudy with an incomprehensible future. Well, let's see who will be in the bull market a new diamond.

The list of alts youv got there is quite strong. Most of them.Neo and Icx are easy to trade with as well due high volume. If you are just a holder, wait till btc dancing finishes, and youl might see nice profits by end of this year

Nano is good coin which is said to be next litecoin in making so we can relay on Nano coin purchase for long-term growth

My stupid advice is not to buy any alts any more in this not-her-not-there market. Just keep your baskets as diversified as they are. And then keep adding on to the big coins. Bitcoin. Ethereum (I do not like it but there you go). Litecoin. Everything is too risky now. Floors look like floors until new floors are found in basements we never thought would exist again. You buy more alts and you "sell" Bitcoin too, so it is a double edged sword, is it not?

I am confused.  Ripple is XRP...I got RPX. ;)

I am in the opposite side, I believe in newer good alts more than the "big" coins.

IMO, I think NEO and QTUM are the best choices at the moment. But it's still fine when you sepated your capital into 5 or 6 cryptocurrencies like this. Luckily for you, I checked the price on coinmarketcap and all of them are increasing. LOL. What a lucky guy. But I think you only should hold NEO and QTUM for long term and all the others should be shortterm holding

you forgot to add credits on your portfolio. The price is undervalued right know and when beta is released you can  no longer buy cheap credits, price as of now is 0.64$.

Nice list dude, I can't fault any of those and I can say a few (the others I've not followed) have really good buy in prices right now.

Nice list youv got there. All of them solid projects. The only thing is ,what kind of profit you are after? Most of this coins a very high market cap,so i doubt it will be x20+.maybe x5 due btc dipping since new year

I will be happy with x3 (portfolio average) and x5 will be awesome.  I don't really dream of x20, if it comes, that is great but I am a realist. I've had some coins that did and a few on this list might (from lowest purchase amount).
