Title: BOUNTY ASKING FOR ETH TO FILTER OUT MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS
Post by: 1C6fV5DtakfKANLJ8GUV7hCaA on March 28, 2018, 08:15:09 AM
Guys, someone just called me from a bounty I joined called FIANCIA https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2881283.0

They are requiring me to participate and send 0.1 eth to their ICO. Isn't the whole point of participating on a bounty campaign is to get paid and not pay them???

I get the multiple accounts part but hey it's their job to sort those out but to ask the bounty participants for ETH is just not right.

Sounds like a scam?

Agreed, its like a new level of scam and it happened in a few months ago when airdrop campaign was hot. There are a lots of them asking for donation for 0,1 or 0,01 eth the reason is simple to filter multiple account however i believe if there are multiple account joining a campaign then that is their problem to filter it out and they must already know how to handle it before asking us to help them and for the record 0,1 eth is still a lot for just filtering an account and imagine if there are 1k people or more donate to them. Its free money  ;D ;D

By the way, when you mention certain "someone" just called you from that bounty then is it the manager handling the bounty? Or its just a certain nobody?

Hm 0,1 ETH is too much. So how much they offer back?
It's not bad what I see on their site, but still, I would think twice.

Yeah, I've seen those schemes before. They ask for an airdrop and to take part in they ask for 'simple donation" but then it's not an airdrop. Same with that bounty they are finding ways to not pay you, moreover many people don't read the rules and will do the bounty campaign anyway providing them with free marketing.

Let that one pass, don't stress yourself over it.

Looks like a scam to me. 0.1 eth is too much for verification of multiple accounts. These are the times we need to be vigilant about these offers we get. I checked the bounty campaign im nkt seeing anything there thatbsays that you need to pit money in. I tried that in other bounty campaigns where some people poses as devs of the project and ask for eth and when you ask the devs its just scammers who are impersonating them.

It does not mean that if they are asking you 0.1 eth and they are asking you to sort out users with multiple accounts they are already scammers. But even though they are not scammers it is a foolishness to ask somebody who is not a part of their team to do that job for them. If they will give you a salary then it is okay but if it is for free then that is very unprofessional.

There is no point for any ICO to ask for payment from bounty participants, they might be trying to pull exit scam at end of the ICO so they want to grab as much ETH as possible from even bounty participants. Don't send anything to them and make sure that you will only join bounty programs of legit ICO.

Guys it's really sad how these scammers evolve. They even try to rip off the bounty participants with eth and free marketing. I really wonder when these kind of scams get busted.
