Twitter is banning cryptocurrency-related ads on Tuesday, following the Reddit move in 2016 and joining advertising giants Google and Facebook to protect the investor from media hype of potential fraud or large investor losses.

It was confirmed long ago and this step would definitely prevent loss of many new investors who are into participating in ICOs and get scammed as they invest in an ad displayed on these social media. It really won't affect much of the bounties that are being run by the ICOs here in this forum but what will be affected are the people who wish to scam others!

So they are banning only the ICO ads or all the crypto related posts from everyone?

So no more twitter campaign too on bounties?

It may save the people from investing on scam ICOs but it will slow down the growth rate of crypto currency among people.

Twitter is non different on Facebook, as their social platform is to bring their users closer to their loved ones and to not to become the victims of fake ICOs and fraud crypto related advertising.
it is because people would put their trusts on investing ICOs because they're featured by giant social media like Facebook and Twitter, I think they have their reasons why they ban ICOs and Crypto related ads.

I think banning ads from social media is not something bad.Becasue scam ICOs make people trust less to cryptocurrencies by banning them people may trust back to crypto market.Also they may understand that blockchain is safer than anything

It's old news.This a right step taken by twitter and should be followed by other giants soon.This is probably the worst nightmare for twitter bounty hunters.Some of them will have a hard time making that extra satoshi which they used to get for sharing shit-coins on social-media.

In my opinion it's okay for platform, to protect users from scam ICO's. Because right now, 90-95% are scams. So advertising of them on platform like twitter kind of negative for the platform.

Wont affect ICOs because these restrictions are just for the people who are using their paid advetisement programs,bounty hunters wont be affected by this as they are still allowed to promote something or any cryptocurrency related topics using their own personal accounts,but we must make sure that we arent violating any twitter terms and conditions so we wont get banned or disabled.

It is natural, because twitter founders are under high pressure of politicians trying to destroy cryptocurrency. So if major social media ban crypto, it will move to some other sm platforms and prosper there. Audience will always find a way to find the info they need.

What is your definition of moving forward ? What would you prefer,100 legit accounts sharing genuine stuff related to the crypto projects or 10000 fake accounts created with sole intentions to share stupid bounty links ? I don't see how the later is making anything move forward.

And what about tweets and retweets? I mean could we still use Twitter for bounty campaigns?

This is old information and it has been discussed and commented by many from beginners to great experts, but it is not pleasant and very less profitable for both parties: Social Network and crypto. In my opinion and analyzing all information on the subject, the specific charge for advertising can be a great alternative in the mass media.

Although this has been confirmed before now, but i do not see it affecting the advertisement of ICOs or cryptocurrency, because there are other means through which ads can be placed. It might only affect those who are into bounty campaign and are kno using Twitter for the bounty. Legit ICOs will never have issues with this, because they will always have their ways and genuine ways of advertising, where investors will also see their ads.
It is good to have this done by twitter, because scam ICOs will be restricted in some ways.

You could Tweet and ReTweet without having to worry that Twitter might remove you from their website. Twitter is just removing advertisements that are paid for.

Not banning crypto adds?
100 legit accounts of course, but we are talking about adds. I am not familiar with twitter because I don't use it but add isn't retwit, or is it?
Bitcoin? Exchanges? Trading signals? I've seen many advertisement which are not ICO.

Well, do not be afraid, the main thing to avoid in their posts hashtags about cryptocurrency. And for retweets will not block you.

this will not stop cryptoeconomics, why is the gay mafia in wallstreet the only ones in the world allowed to print money and live of the back of others who are supposed to sell their time for it?

Lol. That's just on paper. They ain't banning shut considering how greedy they all are. Facebook said the same thing but everyday I see different cryptocurrency ads on my facebook page. Same with google. They are just trying to protect theirself from legal issues if it ever get to that point.

You will still be able to do bounty for ICOs i believe but i think soon we will need to change platform.Maybe Invest Feed or ZOnto or Steem will be huge in the future or something new

Even if they forbid commercials for bitcoin, now everyone knows. The need for crypto money raking has already been the year of 2017 crypto money.
I hope 2018 will be the year of the subcoins.

It seems to me that this is just a way of manipulating the market. The big players decided to dump the market and get a good buy before big money came to the cryptocurrencies.

They are not against bitcoin or cryptocurrencies, they are just banning ICO paid ads because there are so many ICOs that they can't check if they are legit or scams.

It's Twitter's loss, not crypto currency economy's. Think about it, ICO's want to advertise but they can't use that platform. Instead they use thyeir marketing budget to other places. Twitter will lose it, not projects.

This is not surprising. Twitter supports globalization and censorship.

I thought the blocking of Twitter will apply only to paid ICO advertising . But on Monday, my twitter account was blocked , I wrote an appeal, but later it was reported that my account is locked forever. ;D . Generally with Twitter i'm done and will not come back.

I read in the news that large crypto companies file lawsuits on Twitter, Facebook, Google. So without a fight, no one will give up.

Let's see how they will fill their promises. It's easy to declare anything, but the real situation may be quite different. And of corse soon there will be find a solution to avoid any restriction.

We know twitter is a one of the carrier of spreading information faster and now it's getting ban crypto ads, it really make a huge impact to the community. The possible thing may result from this is slowing ICO development, but it also have a positive outcome, it lessen the numbers of scammer and FUD's which is a big help for everyone.

If Twitter already said that it will block advertising crypt, I think that soon except forum nothing will remain.

Some large  Russion ICO investors sued Google and others, because they have monopoly in sphere of internet-marketing and do this activities with ban of ICO advertise for theirs own benefit

There seems to be a big problem here when these big social media sites are also now participating in blocking crypto advertisements. There could be too many reports about scams and large loses on investments that is made through their social media sites. This may sound alarming. This could also create panic among coin holders.

There are several options for the development of events, but they are all rather pessimistic. I do not know what I'll do without crypt ...

They didn't change much. The people purchasing advertisements have to spend that marketing money on something else.

People getting scam would slow down the growth rate of Crypto more than anything else. Losing money would turn them off possibly for life.

I hate conspiracy, especially when it's obvious the reason as to why they are banning such ads. Especially when banning ads that have a good likely hood of being a scam would harm crypto more.

I can not believe that a crypt can disappear so simply because social networks block advertising. This is very disappointing.

this is very good and I think it will also provide good benefits for altcoin users because I think with the ban like this altcoin will be better known by the community directly or without social media.

Its nice news!!I like that,the time has come to ban all crypto advertisings im with all hands up for this idea,many scams will die after this,and prices will drop,less peoples will know about the crypto,only the positive things bringing down here this confirmation about banning advertisings about crypto in all social medias..

Facebook, too, has previously banned crypto-currency advertising, but as it was and continues, I do not think that the bounty will not be any more, they will come up with something

Twitter are banning ICO of cryptocurrencies, But they are not removing the account of the cryptocurrency.
TEAM can still post some good news of their development of their project.
Social Media are just playing safe, and dont want to be include in any scam accusation.

Let them all ban all they can so that after now the cryptoecosystem will know peace and we now have genuine cryptocurrency price movement to enable planing and investment. Let us be  all hopeful.

What a ripple effect! Banning ads is a prudent and sensible move, and i think thats what most people believe. How and why it is creating such a hue and cry, even to the extent of being held responsible for the sliding crypto prices is beyond understanding. With the speed icos are popping up and their number of scammers, this should be a welcome move by trusted names so far.

Some people think ICO's rule the crypto world or something.

people already know about this bad news, the twitter has given a statement on this news. but, we do not have to worry about all this, crypto is a world that does not bother anyone. so I think we as a community do not need to panic because of this, even worse events we can get through it.

It's really impossible to watch how social networks block the advertising of crypts, because I have long been engaged in the promotion of my accounts, but it turned out to be all in vain.

I dont agree with the decision but, nevertheless, it is a clear sign for the crypto community to be more aware on how bad practices are destroying the image of an entire industry.

Not many bounties will be affected by that, but it is unfortunate for scammers, and good for investors, as it would not be too obvious.
