Technically you can do mining. But will it be worth it? Definitely not. Especially knowing that you're using a laptop. Take note that your hardware degrades over time, especially with heavy use; and most likely not all of your laptop's parts are replaceable. Some are soldered in.

If you want to make profit, but separate GPUs, or probably ASICs.

These days, its better you get an ASIC than to mine on a laptop, even with your gtx GPU and the i7 branding, you're gonna earn very little, if you even earn at all. seeing 0.01 over a year period isn't far fetched.

https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/xmr you can use this to check the mining rate/hash.

dont know how accurate it is, but it helps

Laptop mining will destroy your laptop and will f*** up its processing speed ... i would suggest you to mine altcoins rather than bitcoin as BTCs difficulty is grown much higher but altcoins are still mine able and fruitfull ... use ASIC miners or at least good graphic cards.

Don't use your laptop to mine BTC, it's only a waste of time and electricity.

If you want to make anything at all; use Nicehash given I expect you to not be too tech savvy.

I think it would be very unfortunate if you use your laptop for mining even if you add or use extended GPU, because it will only damage your laptop because the mining process would not be done in a short time and with a heavy process due to mining your laptop may only can last for a while ... so I suggest you to make your own GPU mining or buy it.

It’s not worth damaging any of your hardware as the yield is very minimal. Rather you just get an ASIC
