witcoin (http://witcoin.com/) is a social news site (think reddit) powered by bitcoin. To post, reply and upvote costs a fraction of a witcoin (1 witcoin = 1 bitcoin); this is distributed among the original poster/replier, previous upvoters, category renter and site dev team [1].

Currently the main content on the site (bitcoin related, fake news and silly quotes) falls under the category witticisms (http://witticisms.witcoin.com/), but in the near future you will be able to create your own categories [2].

How to collect your gift?

To promote this great effort by necrodearia and noagendamarket I am giving away 0.50 witcoin (0.50 BTC) to the first 20 forum users that sign up on http://witcoin.com/getwitit and post their witcoin.com account url (for example http://witcoin.com/witizens/7) as a reply in this thread.

Please use this gift to post content, send replies and upvote on the site; but you are welcome to withdraw witcoins for bitcoins.

For more information about witcoin, read their FAQ at http://faq.witcoin.com/ and if you have bug reports and/or feature requests use http://meta.witcoin.com/ (bug reporters are currently rewarded).

Restriction

Only existing forum members, created before February 6th 2011 with at least 10 forum posts can participate, this is to exclude duplicate accounts and bots.

Thanks for your other comments and bug reports, please post them on http://meta.witcoin.com/ if you haven't done so already. Although I am not a developer of the site, just an advocate, let me try to quickly address them based on my understanding:

1) Hotlinking images doesn't work: sounds like a bug; please report on meta! (I hear that noagendamarket also donates 0.02 to bugreporters)
2) Editing cost is a feature, but should be documented / explained somewhere better; please report on meta.
3) Your profile page only shows new posts, it doesn't include comments (yet). Would be nice to have.
4) Your avatar comes from gravatar.com; which is based on the email address linked to your account. You can change it on gravatar.com.

Trying to withdraw the 0.5 witcoin from this address after login to profile http://witcoin.com/witdraw which is failed.
It asks bitcoin address & a click button to witdraw while no place to enter the amount. Tried with IE & chrome browser.
I think its a bug, please solve it.

I think you are running into some usability issues; to withdraw you need to configure your bitcoin address on your profiles page. Once that is done you can go to 'witdraw' and enter the amount you want to withdraw.
