Title: Newbie post Area
Post by: hayseed on October 31, 2013, 12:31:35 AM
Newbies should be made to take a survey type test to walk them through the proper manners to maintain while posting. This would be a better method than requiring a random post with substance determined by the length (verbosity max). After all one never knows just how much typing the general algorithm is looking for. Is it 50 words, 100 ...

Hopefully this is enough to appease the text gods and bless this simple noob.

Thanks for reading,

HaySeed
(The forum was spitting out so many errors when it was finally accepting signup's again that I was running out of names that maybe it would accept)

Except it keeps throwing errors such as "Your IP has posted less than 6 mins ago" when I have not posted at all today.

I also have to try multiple times to login. I have now noticed that if the time to stay logged in is a large unchangeable number
the login attempt will fail. If it shows the default of 60 im good to go.

No other boards have given me these issues.

After you login, you will need to wait 6 mins to make your first post when you are still jr. member.
Yes, it seems strange, but here login is consider as a write action to the database just as making a post.

Now this is to prevent scammers. People could easily answer some questions or find a way to skip the tutorial and then scam others out!

In regards to scam posts:

I think if we had public execution for scammers and dirty stealing break in artist the problem would begin to fade.

Or even interactive tomato/egg air guns where the scammers are in stockades and you would pay to "egg" or "tomato" them in real time. The proceeds would fund "hit squads" that would track down the worst offenders much like bounties cleaned up the outlaws in the old west.

maleware people would be next followed by fake review writers then finally we get down to double-parkers and left lane riders (In UK that would be right lane riders) !!

The 419's could be left alone for entertainment value.

That could even be a new reality show for "People dumb enough to fall for 419 scam"
