Title: What server chassis are out there that support quad GPU's (8 expansion slots)?
Post by: Internet151 on July 27, 2011, 04:20:40 AM
I've been looking for a while for a rack-mountable server chassis with 8 expansion slots and all I can find is the Chenbro RM41300G for around $150. Is there anything else out there, or is this my only option?

Also, if someone actually owns the RM41300G I would like to hear their opinions on it.

while I can't help with what you should get, I'd avoid that Chenbro. insufficient airflow for quad GPU's (not to mention power connectors on top.)

My company currently works with some metal businesses trying to come up with a 6 RU unit (6 rack units) for 6 graphics cards. So far it looks like we go with cards mounted 45 degree tilted, to lessen the overhead from the power cables. Will require raiser cables, though.
