Banks may try to pump Ripple since it will be the best for them if they were force to switch to cryptocurrencies. However, Ripple hasn't been doing well recently, as far as I know, there were some serious problems. I don't think that Bitcoin will lose with Ripple. We have much stronger community which managed to withstand many problems. I'm obviously rooting for Bitcoin, I have started to appreaciate the value of decentralised system which do not have any leader. The vast majority of the community decides what is the right thing to do.

Because if it's a asset with centralize, powerful on a person can kill anything!

Centralized or decentralized? Open or closed? Which is destined to win? The answer is neither. The best products with the best overall experiences and qualities are those that win. The best products are built by the best people. The best people go where there’s enough money and grow where there’s the best story about the future. And one thing is sure, the world of open source and decentralized systems that are being built today are, in fact, a bright hope for the future. Blockchains and tokens are changing everything.

maybe bitcoin will win the winner because many people want the bitcoin even when the bitcoin value drops but there is still a potential ripple because the project or this coin is good for people

And where are we seeing the growth of centralised platform like ripple?? Do you really think that XRP is making progress besides the fact that it is been accepted by some banks or let me clear it, they are thinking to use it and have no plans yet in the hand. I dont think there is any problem with the bitcoin itself? Bitcoin is far out reached as compared to the ripple and being decentralised it is loved the most. Frankly speaking people just using the XRP to make lots of money due to the fact that it moves up and down many time, like those artificial pumps-dumps. Not much fantasy in the ripple, its far from getting into minds of people.

One thing I want to confirm, Ripple is a token, and Bitcoin is a Crypto currency.
The banks of course will select the best thing to profit themselves but will the crowd need bank in the future. Think about that. You can transfer money to anywhere in the word, then WHY you need to go to the bank, deposit your cash, pay the transfer fee and wait few days with very limit amount. If you want a bigger amount, you must ask for permission in some countries. Then What would you think people like to do? Stay home with a few click on your laptop, smartphone, PC, etc. and your money will be transfer in just a few minutes or even few seconds without limitation. Think about that.

You are comparing it on the wrong season. Just like today because there's a big dump to bitcoin it doesn't mean that it is losing to ripple or any centralized platform. People still like bitcoin because it is decentralized. Banks are powerful so there are still supporters to Ripple and any centralized platform but bitcoin may lose today base on your perception due to the downing of its price but this is temporary.

Ripple is totally a cryptocurrency, it's not a token. XRP has its own platform. It does not parasitize on a coin. Coinmarketcap has also defined it as coin

And there you are wrong. Decentralized system of bitcoin which makes it unique and make the system more established than ripple. I will just believe in ripple itlf it surpasses bitcoin world record. Thus, includes the number of investors, to the amount of investment in the market and etc. There are many parts of cryptocurrency why the investors must chose btc over ripple and that includes the bitcoin performance to them which they benefited a lot from it. Aside from that the trust from the investros given to the system is incomparable than ripple. There is no way ripple could surpass btc and that is just my opinion.

For me its bitcoin will win since this is decentralized cryptocurrency, because many millionaires wants to convert and hide some of their asset in crypto, and if they will invest in btc, the earned money is not taxable. while Ripple with its own platform which is centralized were not growing up like bitcoin's popularity.

The battle is still ongoing between decentralized and centralized technology I still belief that decentralized tech is still having an edge over centralized, the banking system are devising evey available means to encourage investors to adopt centralized technology  however all their efforts is proving abortive.

Does bitcoin actually lose the battle with ripple?

bitcoin:
* solid rise over long term.
* more and more merchant adoption each year
* more and more transactions because of the adoption

Ripple:
* pump and dumps
* zero adoption as a currency and only being used for pump and dumps
* little to no transactions and that little is only traders sending coins from exchanges to exchanges.

so year bitcoin is losing :D

sometimes centralize system is more gaining and can wining the aspect of the oppurtunist because when someone controling the asset it very hard for people to dump because ripple still backed by many big bank across country
but people like a decentralized because they own they control it, not just a person or a company
bitcoin still win in evry aspect of it

Here both are different in quality. One is centralized and another is decentralized. But I believe both are performing well at its own position. Though bitcoin price is going down in recent days, it will recover soon and there is a chance to go far away.

Bitcoin won't lose to Ripple. Some time ago it was worth about $3 dollars, some people were sure that it will surpass Bitcoin but it didn't so far. People who become interested in cryptocurrencies know that their biggest benefit is that they are decentralised. I don't see any reason why Ripple would overcome Bitcoin. Ripple can process more transaction per second because it is centralised. You have to pay 20 XRP for creating a Ripple wallet, that's way to much. You can create as many Bitcoin wallets as you want to, even offline.

Ripple had quite a good growth in recent times but ripple has again fell down, so have the other crypto currencies as well. But ripple will never be able to compete with bitcoin, that's something very difficult even for Ethereum just based on global market cap. And people would better love to have a decentralized currency than a centralized currency again because if they just wanted centralized currency they wouldn't have gone for Bitcoins in the first place right?

My hopes are for a decentralized coin , whether it is bitcoin or some other coin. Because of the many advantages it gives to the consumer. But in all honesty i don't think most people care about that kind of stuff. The facebook scandal is pretty much forgotten already and people don't seem to care about their privacy , then why should they care if the currency they use is centralized or decentralized.

So, I request you, please don't compare between Ripple and Bitcoin. Let bitcoin remain the king!  8)

you are forgetting one thing and that is the fact that when it comes to a new technology (a new form of currency in this case) people want the new thing not just the old thing with a different name. Ripple is not different from using a bank, paypal, Visa,... so nobody will ever want to use it with the additional volatility and all the risks that XRP has. when you choose something new over the old one you want to get something out of it not add to your misery!
with bitcoin there is volatility, and risk but there is also decentralization and the fact that it is censorship resistance. that is why people always choose bitcoin over any centralized shitcoin.

I think ripple will win for that comparison, one of ripple advantages to all crypto not just Bitcoin itself is the scalability that  issues stem from set blockchain parameters which dictate the number of transactions which any blockchain can perform on a set second to second basis. To make an example Bitcoin can currently only process 16 individual transactions per second. Ethereum then lags a little further behind at 15 transactions per second. With Ripple XRP, however, a staggering 1,500 transactions per second can already be accomplished.

Hi!

Bitcoin and Ripple have very different governance and ownership structures. Bitcoin is highly decentralized and owned by a community.Ripple is owned by a private company and created to improve upon a now-outdated system of international transactions. Considering transaction time, Average transaction cost , Transaction per second and Energy cost per transaction Ripple is better than bitcoin. Despite the downsides of ripple are Centralization and competition. A lot of people feel that Ripple cannot be trusted as a currency because Ripple itself is a Private company with close connection to the bank system. Bitcoin cannot officially partner with any company or entity. Bitcoin has gathered powerful people and currently it's use as a investment opportunity. Hence I believe Ripple has more advantage than bitcoin but It can not beat bitcoin because of community powers and decentralized manner.

Thanks
Have a Nice Day!

XRP is not optimistic, neither the strict encryption currency, nor the decentralization! It serves the bank!

BTC is a completely decentralized currency for the investors of BTC!

The key differences are:

BTC is created by miners. XRP is all premined.
BTC has a total supply of 21 mln coins. Ripple has 100 bln premined coins.
BTC takes much longer to complete a transaction. Ripple does it much much faster.

I bet you will say ripple? its ok if that is your choice because  every people has their own favorite but for me i think the winner is still btc because btc is the original and btc is mostly or oftenly being used when it comes to online transactions even though they know that ripple is much faster and has a lesser fees.

i only see ripple as a trading coin because it is an alt and alts are mainly best or suitable for trading purposes while btc on the other hand is popular when were talking about investing.

on one hand we have bitcoin which is decentralized and revolutionary which sets it apart from all the old monetary systems.
on the other hand we have Ripple and other centralized altcoins which are centralized to one group who control everything about the coin and they have not that many differences from old monetary systems such as banks.

so why do you think anyone would ever choose centralized coins such as Ripple and trust the shady foundation of it instead of using banks and trust the government and banks instead? your question is actually the difference between using Ripple versus using something like PayPal and in any scenario PayPal will win.

For the sake and respect to the crypto currency, their is no need to compare both because they served a great purpose to us all and they both have their own path to follow.

I just don't get it or understand why someone would buy a centralized coin. Isn't the wonderful and unique thing about bitcoin and cryptocurrency is being decentralized? I just don't see the point at all and it contradicts the main goal of cryptocurrency. I will still pick bitcoin and will never buy ripple no matter how high and how big the profit it will give.

But bitcoin const transactionis just too hight that's why people choose ripple to send small amount instead of using bitcoin. Those who bought ripple may think that it will skyrocket due to supported by many financial corporations such a bank, I personally think that Ripple has bright future but will it beat the bitcoin? I'm sorry I don't think so, bitcoin is still the best.

Basically, it is against the concept that Satoshi Nakamoto has been proposed. In decentralized you have control over your asset and it's a good thing like I've said above those who bought ripple they just didn't care about this thing, I personally care about it.

The very foundation of cryptocurrencies is based on a decentralized concept. So, there is no point of centralizing it. People, now days have started understanding this, so, Bitcoin will definitely win.

Bitcoin will win over ripple. Decentralized cryptocurrency is way more better than its opposite. Where in a decentralized form of currency, you can transact private over the countries with ease and fast. The peer-to-peer network is enough to make bitcoin transactions work. Unlike centralized crypto, maybe privacy will be low because it can be track by interventors.

it's just a strategy to raise the price of Ripple. Because by any means no one can replace bitcoin. Because bitcoin is the center of all crypto currencies. You can certainly imagine how Ripple without bitcoin, it would not be any good. People are more interested in storing bitcoin, and making altcoin another tool for trading. Because their purpose is clear, to collect the bitcoin as much as they can. Maybe for bitcoin development a little slower than the new coin.

I think you are underestimating the power of bitcoin that's why you are making such posts on this forum. XRP a centeralized currency must be owned by some banks but still what growth do yoy see in it inspite the normal pumps which are temperorary giving profits to thr investors but on the other hand btc is widely used currency as payment system with well developed technology and prices far away and being decentralized currency its not owned and controlled by anyone giving it a unique value and growth chances being increased. So i would say it is wrong to compare btc to XRP as one is permanent and othet just for short period.

In some months we will find the bitcoin goes to moon like 20k USD or more than that. So on investing option as well ripple is just worst option when compare to bitcoin.

I strongly do not recommend anyone to invest on Ripple. This is such a shit coin which can comes to the market. If you want the secured coins to invest ripple is not at all your choice. Still the 80 percent of the fund is holded by the investors.

There are some issues with the decentralized crypto (and many with centralized) but down the road, it doesn't make any sense to use centralized crypto because the core philosophy of blockchain is all about complete freedom and decentralization of control. Banks are going to use the blockchain technology in order to survive in the new age ecosystem by adopting the protocols like ripple and XRP might perform very well in terms of investment but as a user, I am not a great fan of it in the long run.

What really attracted me to work in crypto currency at first was becasue of the fact that it is decentralized . The people who wanted to work in a decentralized way will continue to work with bitcoin no matter what . It is true that the banks and the legal authorities would prefer ripple in place of bitcoin simply because ripple is no threat to them , and bitcoin is .
The acceptance of centralize crypto currencies  will again rise the same problems that we face due to our fiat , so what's the fun of using crypto at the first place.

Bitcoin is the key element of the crypto exchange. Ripple can not reach a special spot like Bitcoin.

The popularity of bitcoin is associated with it's decentralized feature it is very obvious the financial institutions are trying to use ripple a centralized crypto to override bitcoin of course there mission is dead on arrival and wouldn't be accomplished, elimination of a third party in transactions is widely adopted to bring trust in a system is a highly welcomed idea.

I think if Centralized talks are more inclined to bitcoin but if ripple has a very good development it is sure ripple can also be a coin that centralized beats bitcoin. but it looks like a ripple will not be able to do that.

Ripple in the background by the potential possessed by bitcoin that dominate the digital currency around the world at this time. Bitcoin is still lacking because it does not have technological facilities that have a system of payment that is not decentralized. In other words, one payment system with one is not connected so this will complicate the payment system using digital currency.
The fundamental difference between bitcoin and ripple is about the facilities provided by both. Ripple facilitates the exchange of XRPs with various currencies in the world as well as to exchange them with bitcoin, while bitcoin only supports delivery among bitcoin users only. So if you use bitcoin into local currency you should search exchange or other Bitcoin User to redeem bitcoin. In terms of the practicality of exchange, Ripple
makes it easier for you compared to bitcoin.

I still believe that decentralized cryptocurrency is more secure and reliable compared to centralized. Ripple (XRP) is transforming from centralized into a decentralized one. You can double check my point in their website. But what I can see right now is that ripple has a better use case scenario compared to bitcoin. It solve a lot of downfall in the payment system. I don't believe what other people say that it was backed by banks. its a matter of fact, banks and other financial exchanges adopt it due to its fast and secure transaction compared to bitcoin.

no, both have advantages and disadvantages, bitcoin has a high spreading and Ripple has more volume.

but for a moment, I see bitcoin still dominate and still control the market.

Ripple backed by the bank and that's what makes it win from the volume side.

In my opinion, decentralized crypto system is much more resourceful than centralized system. So, the reason of cryptocurrencies is private and most people use crypto for that reason. If we think logically, the central system is such a system that when they want to freeze your account they can do it. But, in decentralized system no one can do it and price change with nobody's finger.

In my own opinion, both decentralized and centralized systems will win in the future. The reason for this, is because they're separate from one another, and backed by either individuals or governments alike. Whereas centralized solutions like Ripple are heavily backed by banks, and governments, decentralized solutions like Bitcoin are backed by everyday people or individuals in the free world.

In the end, these systems will co-exist for quite a long time. They have their unique use cases, and can benefit our society towards economic progress. Of course, as a matter of security and reliability, Bitcoin wins. But in terms of transaction speed, and low costs, Ripple has the lead. Therefore, whenever people want to secure their money against external interference, they'll use Bitcoin. On the other hand, if they simply want to send money around the world at near-zero costs and unmatched speeds, they'll use Ripple. Just my thoughts ;D

Ripple is definately odd in the crypto world to be promoting decentralization and a lot of people don’t see Ripple as a good long-term investment. However, if Ripple’s blockchain gains significant adoption within the industry, the coin could see another upward trajectory.

Ripple despite of being a good crypto won't win to Bitcoin which is a "huge" cryptocurrency for a lomg period of time. From the market price up to the demand, Bitcoin is way higher compared to ripple. The issue about cenrralization is just temporary and when the time come that Bitcoin is already legal to most of the countries, it will be more advantageous to other cryptos.

Ripple vs. Bitcoin. As of coin market cap update, Ripple or XRP costs $0.85 in 3B circulating supply it decreases 0.66% while Bitcoin or BTC costs $9,360 in 17M circulating supply it increases 0.65%. On my hypothesis and data gathering, first, it might be a chance for Ripple to overtake Bitcoin this coming years because of its volume in 24 hours. Bitcoin might be the highest valued amount this year and the next other years but in some other cases altcoins like Ripple and Etherium might have the chance to be more high valued coin than Bitcoin.
Decentralize vs. Centralize. Decentralize is open and free in communication and more comparatively faster than Centralize system that is vertical and focuses only on the top or in the higher rank.

We already have everything centralize around us. In such an environment where freedom exists only in books, it is good to have a decentralized option and that also a very powerful and beneficial one. Bitcoin is far better than ripple. Ripple reminds me of paper money. The only difference is that it can’t be touched while bitcoin gives profits, speed, anonymity and freedom.

Yes. Decentralized cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin will prevail in the end. Nobody would want to transact in a centralized "cryptocurrency" like Ripple, as it’ll be constantly monitored by governments, banks, and even the underlying company itself. Using Ripple would be analogous to using a bank, thus it should be avoided whenever possible. On the other hand, the decentralized version of Ripple called Stellar is much better, and allows anyone to transact freely without fearing that funds will be constantly tracked.

Therefore, I believe that Bitcoin will win as people around the world will support it more than Ripple itself, just because the pioneer cryptocurrency is decentralized. Just my thoughts ;D

Therefore, XRP is believed to be used and is perfectly healthy before market fluctuations. This can be safe with investors and users in the short term. But in the long run, I do not think it will be maintained. Meanwhile, bitcoin still exhibits power with decentralized supply with high volatility.

Think about that.
yea, Ripple is just token. Bitcoin and Ripple are totally different things, no need to compare. And Ripple won't never be such valuable like Bitcoins. never. And i will sell all my Ripple when it reaches $1-$1.2. SO far only ETH will catch up BTC. Or the future's TON.

Decentralization is going to be the future, no doubt.

Ripple is hugely hyped due to the fact that it's got a lot of partnerships in the real world. This may seem like something that is extremely promising in the short term, but in the long run I don't think that it'll benefit at all being the centralized system it is.

No way BTC has "lost the battle". It's simply due to the fact that Ripple has been hyped so much that its value has skyrocketed even compared to BTC. It's all speculative.

Ripple has good cooperation with banks, they keep in touch both in building their centralization, Bitcoin will not be affected or even lost to Ripple, Bitcoin and Ripple have different payment systems but these two coins will not affect each other.

The ripple is very fast compared to Bitcoin and is capable of performing 1000 transactions per second, compared to Bitcoin 3 tx / sec, and can complete international transactions in 3 seconds, compared to the 10-minute block average confirmation time for Bitcoin.

In ripple transaction speed is superior to bitcoin and total suply ripple is also superior to bitcoin
ripple 100 billion XRP and bitcoin just 21 billion BTC.

Although the ripple is much younger than bitcoin, the ripple can prove that it is superior to bitcoin.

Completely agree with you, mate. Decentralized cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum are the future while centralized "cryptocurrencies" like Ripple will be left in the dust. Right now, Ripple is overhyped because of the partnerships it has made, but it's still just another centralized payment system like VISA or MasterCard. Most people wouldn't want to transact in a ledger which is highly manipulated and tracked by the underlying Ripple company, banks, and even governments. Since the XRP ledger provides them the ability to freeze a user's funds, nobody would be able to experience the level of freedom and immutability in it as with decentralized cryptos like BTC and ETH.

Therefore, I believe that Bitcoin, Ethereum and other decentralized cryptocurrencies will prevail over centralized payment systems for years to come. Of course, the bright side of centralized solutions is that it's regulatory compliant which further prevents criminal activity within their ledgers, but they're extremely vulnerable against manipulation from third parties. Decentralized cryptocurrencies will be much more secure than centralized "cryptocurrencies" like Ripple since anyone can join or leave the network at will, among other things. As such, Bitcoin will always be a winner in my eyes. Just my thoughts ;D

Agree. Bitcoin being a decentralized cryptocurrency is what has given it popularity and greater strength over the course of years. Since no one controls it, the original cryptocurrency has been considered by many as the people's money. On the other hand, Ripple is a centralized payment system (I cannot say that it is a cryptocurrency) and it is subject from manipulation by its own internal company. Not to mention, it could easily comply to the interests of governments whenever they see an unusual activity on the XRP ledger.

Therefore, Ripple would essentially be a digital bank, where no one would want to put their money into, since it can be shutdown or frozen at any time by the authorities. However, that is not the case with Bitcoin and most cryptocurrencies out there, as they're decentralized and grow stronger each day the more users join the network. In the end, Bitcoin will win among centralized systems like Ripple, Visa, and PayPal. Just my opinion :)

Ripple is a good coin in terms of their capitalization but I think this coin is just meant to pump and dump because of its centralized system so investors think that investing with xrp is a lot more risk compare to bitcoin. Bitcoin is a great coin, we can compare other coins to bitcoin but of course no one can replace bitcoin. A decentralized market will win because this is what cryptocurrency is all about.

Bitcoin wouldn't lose its position, to ripple. Each of these coins has its own potential and it's not just about centralization or decentralization. Bitcoin has a very high capitalization and unlikely that ripple will overtake it, but ripple is used in many banks and this will increase the price up of this cryptocurrency.

The crypto's primordial idea derives from centralization and unfortunately this ideal is found today, but we can not complain or criticize this style of thinking, acting and shaping the market, after all the current market is derived from this past. However, this archaic idea is being rejected by many investors who dream of a market decentralization and far from manipulation. So when comparing Bitcoin with Ripple we are automatically criticizing Ripple for its centralized way of being and obviously even if we put both in same category is almost impossible Ripple overcome Bitcoin in any aspect.

Completely agree with you, mate. Either Bitcoin or Ripple will continue to make strides in the blockchain industry for years to come. Since each have their unique uses, it is not a question whenever which can prevail over another, but how will they change our society for the better. Ripple can transform the banking industry in ways we've never thought possible. On the other hand, Bitcoin is the people's money and provides security and resilience against third parties.

Therefore, I believe that both cryptocurrencies will increase in value over the long term as investors continue to put their money on them. Bitcoin as well as Ripple, will improve in technology that will make them better cryptocurrencies for anyone to use in the future. Just my thoughts ;D

Definitely, in that view points since we doesn't know whats behind on it it can maybe a faked. In general, many people doesn't believe in xrp they buy and hold it for profit and not like bitcoins ripple can't stand alone it is the King and of all cryptocurrency.

Ripple has big potential take a look at it's all time high compared to now. I agree with you that it may see a price surge due to the centralized establishments that it's associated with. However because it has its roots so deeply in the centralized sector with connections all over with companies like Western Mutual, Money Gram etc.. when the price goes up I expect it to be rapid and dramatic

Decentralize cryptocurrency is losing position compared to centralize crypto?
Recently there are many managers, publishers are abandoning decentralize development cryptocurrency. presently, the growth of centralize crypto like Ripple platform. Does bitcoin actually lose the battle with ripple? What do you think?
Do we need to match-up this 2 currency? Ripple is nothing compared to bitcoin, in which people don't want to invest in a centralize currency. Look what happened to ripple after those strong pumping last year, it's now getting flat and not even climb to reach above $1.
I don't believe that decentralize currency will be outperform by a centralize currency. It's just a FUD that many people were abandoning the development of decentralize currency.

I think bitcoin will win the price and bitcoin will still lead the market. the other coins are only following with bitcoin price and they are adjusting their price with bitcoin too. I think ripple has a big potential to increase too in the future but once again, the ripple price is adjusting with bitcoin price. I don't think that this is a good idea to compare between ripple versus bitcoin because I think both coins have a different function and purposes and they have different ways in the cryptocurrency.

i also think bitcoin and ripple are too different to compare them directly with each other.
both have their advantages and disadvantages and it is hard to say which coin will prevail.
nevertheless, i hope it will be bitcoin.

it's depend who is people or institution that support of them.one of them will win if supported by financial or institution that can make regulation clearly.this is important for bitcoin or ripple future.

Agree. Many people only invest in Ripple to make profit in the long term, but not with the intention to use it as a serious "cryptocurrency" whatsoever. Over time, it has been shown that Ripple is extremely centralized and manipulated by its internal company. Since the Ripple company owns most of the XRP tokens, they can do whatever they desire to manipulate its price. On the other hand, Bitcoin is decentralized and was the first cryptocurrency which have started it all. Due to its resilience, and inmutability properties, people use it more for their everyday transactions since no single entity has control over it.

Bitcoin as we know it, removes the middleman and brings freedom to the people (something that Ripple cannot achieve to this date). In this sense, anyone can join or leave the network at will, making it the perfect money for the people by the people. In the end, Bitcoin and other decentralized cryptocurrencies will win, while Ripple might fail in the future. Just my opinion :)

I don't know how to compare this two. Bitcoin is representing the new idea and the block-chain technology. Ripple is the old system in new clothing trying to have its finger in everything. Bitcoin is one of the kind and it is incomparable with Ripple. Bitcoin has a future, Ripple has not.

Ripple is not even a blockchain and a few company insiders own a large percent of its supply so it is highly centralized. There is hardly anything in common between bitcoin and Ripple.

When it comes to that of comparing a decentralized currency with that of the centralized currency, then it is decentralized currency which takes the lead over it as this is the new concept and that the people are more interested towards it. It is because of the reason that they don’t have to pay any kind of taxes and that there is no one who has control over any of these coins and you are free to do anything.

i think its not seriously pool :D
bitcoin is king, and ripple is only for transfers :/ i think  in 01.2019 when market cap will down 400-500 BLN$. some people will use Ripple, Same BCH, dogecoin, bytecoin, Dash, for fast withdraw. becouse BTC is not fast crypto in bull run.

I think no because most of the people wanted a decentralized system on which bitcoin can runs and possibly can help many people. Bitcoin also have a technology on which is become more better than ripple and didn't control by any person. Even the bitcoin is not yet popular this time because of its decentralized system but maybe later it was become adopted in all over the world that can process any transaction and make it secure. The community is also have a chance to make this coin valuable without a control or manipulated by some people due to its decentralized system because all members of the community affects the price of it and no one managing it.

Ripple is not even a blockchain and a few company insiders own a large percent of its supply so it is highly centralized. There is hardly anything in common between bitcoin and Ripple.

Exactly. Ripple is what is called a "Distributed Ledger" and not a "Blockchain" as the company claims it to be. As far as I'm aware of, validators (or nodes) within the Ripple network are authorized by the company itself. Given that there are only a few validators on the network (when compared to major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum), it makes the XRP “cryptocurrency" extremely centralized. Not to mention, the Ripple company owns the majority of XRP tokens on the network. As such, they can do whatever they desire with the network such as confiscating user's funds, freezing assets, and more. Also, it would be prone to external manipulation from governments and banks alike.

On the contrary, Bitcoin provides freedom, and anyone can join or leave the network at will. No single entity owns the network, and the cryptocurrency itself is protected and supported by its users. This is called decentralization, and it could prevail over centralized systems like Ripple in the long term, if people around the world adopt Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies at a greater level. Therefore, I believe that decentralized cryptos like Bitcoin will always win over centralized ones like Ripple. People would want to transact in a cryptocurrency free from third-party interference to gain control over their funds. And that's exactly what Bitcoin offers compared to FIAT or other centralized financial institutions we know today. Just my opinion :)

I think ripple is not feasible when compared with bitcoin. because decentralization is an important factor in a crypto and it is available in bitcoin. so bitcoin remains a winner and until whenever a ripple will not be able to be the best crypto if he is not decentralized.

Exactly. I believe that there would be no use for Ripple in the long term, as people would prefer to make transfers on a decentralized and fair system for all. Since Ripple is centralized, it's very similar to a bank or financial institution. As such, people would have to trust a single entity for the protection of their funds. Therefore, this is against the blockchain's true value proposition which is meant to be immutable, and independent from any middleman or third party.

On the other hand, decentralized cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum will win over the long term, because people won't need to trust a single entity for the protection of their funds. They can join or leave the network at will, as well as be able to virtually "print money", by securing the cryptocurrency with their computing power. This approach enables anyone to participate on the network, without trusting a middleman, allowing the cryptocurrency to become free against external manipulation by corporations, banks, governments and/or other entities.

In the end, Bitcoin will always remain on top of Ripple no matter what since it's the cryptocurrency who brought us the blockchain technology. Being the first mover in such trend, will give it an advantage over most cryptocurrencies we know and love today for years to come. And since Ripple has the most "XRP" tokens under their control, they can do whatever they desire with its price, network, and more. Just my thoughts ;D

I do not think that there is a battle among btc and ripple, secondly one thing needs to be clreared and that is ripple is also a cryptocurrency based on decentralized blockchain technology so we cannot say it is the opposite of what btc is, the difference is just that the team behind ripple controls significant supply of ripple and they run it like a corporation or a company and i do not think it is a bad thing, i think with this model they can find more partnerships globally and can provide services to wider audience.

Now quite often you can see the competition between centralized coins and no. Even eos struggles with such a problem, another thing and how the technology itself will live if all coins are transferred to a centralized basis. Whether we will be able to receive the same profit due to volatility.

I just don't see the point at all and it contradicts the main goal of cryptocurrency. I will still pick bitcoin and will never buy ripple no matter how high and how big the profit it will give.

Same. There's no point in using a centralized cryptocurrency, since it will be subject to the same failures and issues inherent within centralized institutions like banks. As such, I would prefer Bitcoin over Ripple for many daily transactions, and I'm sure many would agree with me here. Since Bitcoin is decentralized, no one controls it, which adds a greater level of security and reliability than Ripple itself. Also, Bitcoin has a deflationary model (unlike Ripple) which promotes greater scarcity and value over time.

Therefore, I believe that in the end, decentralized cryptocurrencies will win as it gathers the favor of many people around the world, while centralized systems like Ripple would fail in the long run. Blockchain was created for eliminating the middleman in the first place, and that's only achieved with true decentralization. Just my thoughts ;D

I'll go with Bitcoin. Bitcoin is decentralized, decentralization is one of the biggest special feature of cryptocurrency, because in decentralization, the manipulation is lesser, it is peer to peer also. But in centralized, there is someone who owned it, it is vulnerable for manipulation. That's why I am not a fan of Ripple, Bitcoin all the way for me.

But if we talkinga about the profit ripple can hives you more money because of the cheaper price. They have both advatange but bitcoin is stronger than the ripple.

The main aim of blockchain is decentralization in every respect. People who truly believe in this technology will always go for the most decentralised coin, which is bitcoin. Centralization and pure manipulation take crypto back to the level of fiat.

Exactly. That was the main purpose why blockchain was introduced with Bitcoin in the first place. Nakamoto wanted to create a system which eliminates the middleman or central control, to give the power back to the people. As such, the first ever application of the blockchain was in a decentralized manner called Bitcoin. Taking out the true value proposition of the blockchain such as decentralization and immutability, one would create a system that is easily manipulated by third parties with a single point of failure. Ripple is one good example of a centralized system, which makes it no different than fiat currencies controlled by central banks and governments.

On the other hand, decentralized cryptocurrencies will tend to become stronger and resilient against external attacks over time, because people support them. Since they're permission-less systems, anyone can join or leave the network at will without the authorization of a central authority or even a company like Ripple does. Therefore, decentralized cryptocurrencies will always win, as they experience constant demand by everyday individuals from anywhere on Earth, while centralized "cryptocurrencies" will fail in the future. Just my thoughts ;D

The race against centralization versus decentralization will always be won and has always been won by the realization because it increases the security as no one corporation owns the regulation ad price value of the coin so bitcoin will win at a price
