Hey everyone!
Does anyone know if Coinchat is down or if it's just a server issue? Also I've met some great people there. Does anyone know of any other chat sites dedicated to the Bitcoin community? I don't really care if they are reward based like Coinchat, as that is just a bonus for me. Any suggestions will be appreciated!

Name is rather misleading, as there really isn't that much sexualized content these days. However it does have a reward based system and is platformed on IRC.

Coinchat is down, Whiskerchat is been hacked. Yeah, I have the same feeling of when this forum was down.

I emailed TF around two days ago, he said he hoped that it would go back up before this Monday. But it still hasn't. :'(

It is a strange coincidence that all last week the Coinchat administrators, moderators and the inputs.io owners had clandestine meeting after meeting, talked about clearing house, and then suddenly Coinchat AND inputs.io get hacked and people's BTC gets lost.  Hmm, where could all that BTC have gone?  Was it those big, bad hackers, who suddenly figured out how to hack everything at once?  They are some super amazing Bitcoin stealing Ninja-hackers.

It's an 18+ chatroom though.

I just haven't been able to talk to a few of the people I talk to on there. I never withdrew any of the mbtc I was awarded from that site anyway. I just got on and talked with a few people. I didn't know inputs.io went down too. That is quite the coincidence....

It should be back within the day or so, upon recent estimation from TF! Some of the CoinChat members are chatting over at http://www.kbve.com/irc/ for the time being.  ;D

I really do hope so. really miss the community already, dev..

This forum is the closest place that I've got to connect with CoinChat's community. :(
Even then, it doesn't seem to be enough.

Poor CoinChat, I don't know whether I'll recognize him or not once he's returned back to us.
Who knows what could happen to him out there in the wilderness.
Who knows whether he could find a shelter to rest over night and foods to soothe the hunger,
and a hearth to stay close by so that he doesn't get cold or get hypothermia or pneumonia,
or not at all, who knows.
And there could be predators out there preying upon him,
while he is just so young and fragile and so vulnerable.
Maybe when he's returned, he'll have no fur and purr,
maybe not, but who knows.
Maybe when he's returned, he'll no longer be CoinChat,
maybe he'll evolve into something else
or maybe he'll lose his identity because of the evilish world he's going to
or just because of a simple amnesia.

Poor CoinChat, he keeps purring out there in the cold,
searching for answer, looking for a way.
Hopefully, there'll be someone watches over him.

Two hacks totalling about 4100 BTC have left Inputs.io unable to pay all user balances. The attacker compromised the hosting account through compromising email accounts (some very old, and without phone numbers attached, so it was easy to reset). The attacker was able to bypass 2FA due to a flaw on the server host side.

Database access was also obtained, however passwords are securely stored and are hashed on the client. Bitcoin backend code were transferred to 10;15Hd@mastersearching.com:mercedes49@69.85.88.31 (most likely another compromised server).

What about my coins there? If you stored more than 1 BTC, send an email to support@inputs.io with a Bitcoin address (preferably, an offline, open source light/SPV wallet like Multibit or Electrum). Use the same email you're using on Inputs. Please don't store Bitcoins on an internet connected device, regardless of it is your own or a service's.

I know this doesn't mean much, but I'm sorry, and saying that I'm very sad that this happened is an understatement.

Access inputs.io if you want to verify your balance, look up your transactions, etc. Don't add coins.

Poncho, DevtheDev, Chipug, all people from Coinchat.....people I used to bullshit with:) Now I can't. I don't think Coinchat is coming back. It's been much longer than a few days. I dunno what's going on with Trade Fortress but I imagine it must be pretty serious.
