 everytime you go to a restaurant, tell the waiter you only tip in bitcoin. if they have a phone its trivial to load an app. otherwise, use the coinbase app to send a tip to  their email address.  cabs likewise.  tip better, big enough so the experience is a positive one.

never ever pay for anything eithout asking if 'you take bitcoin yet?'  when in power, force it.  demand payment in bitcoin.

do not be too polite, or lazy:  as well as being good for your book, it is a moral imperative.

You should not be impolite on the other hand, since being rude rarely helps at all!

This is wrong on so many levels.

Assuming most people have heard of Bitcoin, but only know it as "a shady currency used to buy heroin" or "an Internet-based currency, what a horrible idea", most people already have a fairly negative image of it. Do you think a waiter who makes $2 an hour plus tips is going to be thinking about how great it is that he gets to choose between missing out on tips for an hour, or spending another hour trying to figure out how to get "real money" out of that 51-character jumble of text some creepy Internet cultist just sent to his email? We're trying to prove that Bitcoin is a viable, legitimate, and superior form of currency, not scare people away from it.

If you want to pay for something in Bitcoin, ask the owner directly if it's a small business, or write the owner/CEO/etc a letter if it's a larger one. Don't take it out on hourly workers, and especially don't refuse to pay hourly workers money that they've earned.

If you insist on tipping in Bitcoin, tell them beforehand that you'll be emailing them some random text as a tip, and enjoy waiting two hours to eat your tomato, saliva, and urine soup.

No, I won't do that.  But I make a point of asking any and everyone that asks me for money, whether it is political donation, or charity, if they take bitcoin, then I tell them it's the only way I make such donations.

There's an exception for the bum that lives under the overpass.

fact is, if you politely provide fiat when you could force btc, you are harming the recipient.  as i see it you can do good, or you can be polite and well-liked, but there are often circumstances where you can't do both simultaneously. 

and yes, i have worked for tips.  and shovelled manure.  now i do quant consulting and get paid about 500 times as much for work that is about 500 times easier and 500000 times more interesting, and i surely wish some kind jerk had tipped me with pre-ipo google shares back in the day. 

If we force the infidels to convert or die, we're actually doing them a service. I get it now!  ;D
