I believe still that bitcoin is maintaining its popularity when in fact in Japan a lot of people has already known it and was investing on it as they have seen bitcoin as a potential coins as well some companies in it also opens the door in bitcoin as a way of accepting payment in them.

With the current fall it is actually attracting more and more people on board. You know what from this forum I have learnt one thing for sure, there is more number of people that you can imagine who missed the train of bitcoin being at lowest value. Now the bitcoin unknowingly giving them the chance to enter in the market with less values and thus it is making them happy. Lets forget about those people who are FUD based because they are uncertain themselves. But if you think my way then yes bitcoins popularity is growing day by day and it does have more popularity than the previous year.

Popularity is exponential thing for now and it will keep rising with the time and may drop after decades if the market gets too condensed and bitcoin becomes too common for daily life.

certainly because some countries already recognize bitcoin because bitcoin is considered a technology that must be developed, and does not close the possibility of other countries will follow a country that has acknowledged bitcoin.

It is. I don't think that  Bitcoin will be losing it's popularity and mass interest just because it is dumping. Bitcoin is still popular, I can say that since people are still investing, people are still earning it and the fact that there are a lot of people here in the forum is a reason that Bitcoin is still not losing its popularity. Bitcoin is the first digital currency, it will never lose its sparkle and shine even if it is the oldest of them all.

Bitcoin still has a high price to date compared to the years that have passed since the bitcoin price is currently down.

I think bitcoin will continue to maintain the interest of consumers and investors. Easily recognize the importance and influence of bitcoin on the crypto market. Bitcoin needs community support. This is the basis for many countries to accept the practical value of bitcoin.

No doubt that bitcoin has attained a certain level, in terms of popularity and its awareness gained on a daily basis, is still making it more popular. It can therefore, be said that despite its current crash, the digital currency is still maintaining its stand.

Yea definitely bitcoin is not just maintaining its popularity but increasing its popularity each day. Bitcoin prices going up high suddenly in just a short amount of days then falling down again creating panic, some countries banning bitcoin, some countries stating bitcoin to be illegal, the media, the common people went crazy about bitcoin. All these things speak for how much popularity bitcoin has gained.

If anything, it was losing interest as a payment system during the drastic rise in price.  Steam stopped accepting it during its rise, Fiverr stopped in February last year - those were a couple of the more significant merchants that dropped it, and Reddit has now stopped accepting BTC for its Reddit Gold as well.

As for development and interest from technical users, I doubt that it increased proportionally with the price, especially not during the recent bull market.

I don't consider vague interest from the public and excessively hyped investors to be particularly good for Bitcoin, so in that sense I don't really care about Bitcoin's popularity.

I believe, Yes, it has. And it will increase in future. Falling price of bitcoin will not reduce its interest in people like its price. Price will go up and it would be major form of transaction in near future. And its popularity will increase more.

Bitcoin still has the masses with it. And the good thing about bitcoin is that new users are getting involved rapidly. Be it awareness about the whole platform, or the news. People who were completely unaware of bitcoins are knowing about it now and are joining in.

As per the price is concered, when new people are joining in, obviously they come with atleats some amount of research, and what they find is the current price is pretty low compared to the potential height of bitcoin value. Thus they tend to invest more in bitcoins  with hope of good profit.
So definetely bitcoin still have the popularity of its own.

Yup. The mass interest/popularity is the same thing and it does have it on the major scale. We can also see that or observe that if you take a look at the increasing volume of the bitcoin purchases year by year and month by month. Lets forget about the prices going down and price increasing, those are just technical aspects of the bitcoin and that will keep happening all the time.

But what I think is, bitcoin's popularity is increasing because of many factors such as:

• Excitement of people to see how far it will go
• Curious nature of some people driving them into the bitcoin world.
• Few people are testing it for their virtual assets creation!!
• Big investors are trying to catch the big fish! and in the long run they acquire the big coins!
• Off course they do all this out of its ever increasing prices.

This is why bitcoin has gotten its popularity and each year the number of Excited, Curious, Tester, Investor are growing huge in number.

many people just follow the prices and if the market rate is high, they're into it and the other way around when the price is less. I don't like this attitude as simply the tech can help so many people, that it should be the priority.

Of course it does! What makes you think that the popularity of bitcoin has gone? Due to the lowered price? No, it will become more popularity as it gives  another chance to those investors that wants to buy at cheaper rate.
The mass adoption of bitcoin from other countries are occurring so that's another reason why bitcoin has been stable about it's popularity. And it's starting to go up again so this adds another reason why it's popularity will increase.

I think the popularity of BTC is still their, but is slowly fading. As we know, there are many upcoming coins/tokens with some good advancements and uses. And people are now diversifying their portfolio and not just relying on bitcoin.

Even though bitcoin has been really declining on value lately I still don't bekieve it is one thing that would indicate that bitcoin has indeedsuffered loss of userbase badly. If we can see the amount of demand and support for bitcoin is still large even at the decline of bitcoin price. Yes, definitely! I dont think another coin will replace the popularity and the demand of the people to bitcoin. Bitcoin is way way far from other coins. It is the pioneering crypto and the most patronized and trusted among all coins. With the drop from 20k down to 6k the mass took the loss and got out. I remember when we were in that huge bull run everyone said I wish it drops below 10 so I can buy... but now none of the people around me wants to buy it. So yes the mass interest is gone, and it is gonna be hard to get it back. Maybe if we get another strong bull run with ETFs and price rises above 20k.

Bitcoin is the first cryto currency to exist and over a time it has gain a lot of popularity. Yes thats true, fow how many years from when it started i guess many people were already knowledgeable about it. Yes, the decrease in value and the bad image due to circulated scam issues of the bitcoin did not affect it's popularity. Many people today are willing to invest because they feel a positive response in the market.

Yes it has, because even though the btc is being dumped and always decreasing and getting low, still there are many supprters that supports btc and also there ate too many holders of btc in this time, and they are hoping that btc will be back and stay again into its track. Look at the user-base, trade volume and acceptability. There is no altcoin which comes even close to Bitcoin as far as these parameters are concerned. The market cap of Bitcoin is even more than that of many fiat currencies, such as the Swiss France and Russian Ruble.

It is and will continue to do so. There will be a lot of fake news and people spreading FUDs in an effort to bring the market down but it will actually be for just a short time as bitcoin will always bounce back and recover from it.

I don't think currency is only to pay off debts to the government,but as far as I can see it that's the main guaranteed,necessary use of it. Everyone will owe taxes,therefore everyone needs money.Because we all need it,it has value.
I struggle to see why anyone needs bitcoin instead of their own currency, I guess.It feels more like a stock than a currency
