Title: Newbie Coiner Post by: mattyjackson on November 03, 2013, 02:48:33 AM Hi everyone,
This is my first post as per the newb regs. Far too many questions for one initial post, so i'll just say a quick hi and a bit of blurb. I've got myself a couple of erupters to play with (makes use of a pi thats been sitting idle since release day :) ), and i'm building a modest gpu rig (shame i've invested in nvidia kit over the years :( ), so if nothing else I will have a toastie warm sitting room this winter :) No doubt mining is now a mugs game, but being a software developer, it gives me something interesting to do that could pay me some pennies at the same time, so hey ho. See you on the merry voyage M Title: Re: Newbie Coiner Post by: i3lome on November 03, 2013, 06:18:59 AM Hows it going. Welcome to the ship

Title: Re: Newbie Coiner Post by: trcjr on November 03, 2013, 06:38:18 AM You might want to check the power usage on your mining equipment. If not now, then soon you'll probably be losing money as the difficulty increases the amount of pennies you get is going to go through the floor.
Title: Re: Newbie Coiner Post by: mindfulmojo on November 03, 2013, 06:54:20 AM If you want to mine for fun, you can pick up a usb block erupter on Amazon for about 10 bucks including shipping.... You will get a better hash rate and your electricity won't go through the roof... :) Title: Re: Newbie Coiner Post by: pitslz on November 03, 2013, 09:46:40 AM There is no point mining Bitcoin with video cards nowadays.
I personally have created small righ 2 x 7970 for mining litecoins. At current prices a have small profit at about 40-60$ a month. And i hope soon litecoins to be included in some better exchange markets so i can hit good. If you are goonna do, be sure to made good calculation of electricity, heat and so on. @@ Keep calm and keep mining :) Title: Re: Newbie Coiner Post by: Mowcore on November 03, 2013, 11:43:02 AM Choose the right pool, get the most buck for your shares.
PPS (pay per share) is only good if you wanna mine for a few hours, I have always been a fan of slush's pool but I just don't make enough for it to be worth my time, plus pools like that need you to mine 24/7 for maximum reward (to stop pool hoppers). Happy mining! Title: Re: Newbie Coiner Post by: MakeBelieve on November 03, 2013, 11:45:02 AM As soon as you leave this section. Place a thread in the services section for your software programming.
