Title: Is Satoshi Dead?
Post by: ANiceJewishBoy on November 03, 2013, 03:54:08 PM
It makes sense that sense the code was originally being designed for Ucash or whatever it was, then he made it open source, someone may have wanted him dead and paid for such a thing.

Also, with the advent of the Silk Road, and Asians being notorious opiate feinds, he may have died of overdose or retired to a den.

In any case, isn't ressurection a better reason for him to "reveal" himself than "yeah I'm the guy".

Isn't it strange that now the "Silk Road" was an "ancient" (in technical terms) trade route, that opened up global trade.

Lol. Kinda like the Silk Road.

In fact, Satoshi is not dead. He merely deconstructed into a digital format and stored himself on the blockchain.

So it's more like a digital treasure hunt... Still more interesting than a bunch of "who is he" threads.
And also a better love story than Twilight.

I'm not sure that; is there a satoshi? or is it a software company etc?

That would make sense. Like Lemony Snicket.

Or Jiminy Cricket

Quote
The name Lemony Snicket originally came from research for Handler's first book, The Basic Eight. Handler wanted to receive material from organizations that he found "offensive or funny", but did not want to use his real name, and invented "Lemony Snicket" as a pseudonym. The name's similarity to Jiminy Cricket, whom Handler described as "exactly the kind of overly moralistic, cheerful narrator who I despise", was "likely a Freudian slip".

I dont believe Satoshi is one person.

Who would not spend at least some coins now when you have so many?

But wouldn't the chances of spending some of them increase with more owners?  They did not have multi-signing then.

I believe that we'll learn the story after 21 million BTC or big changes on the money system all over the world. BTC may be the worlds most common currency in the near future.

We don't even know for sure that he is Asian, he just has an asian name.

We'll never know until someone comes out as him (or we will just never know).

Maybe he got hit by a bus.  People do die everyday and no I am not talking about CIA black op mission just the normal end of life that happens to everyone eventually.

Yeah, if he does die it's going to be something really common. No secret mission to end his life.

Why you suspect he is dead in first place? He properly planned to remain anonymous from beginning unlike DPR Ulbricht. Now he is anonymous as he planned from beginning. Remember this guy planned Bitcoin and it works 5 years down the road. Remaining anonymous is nothing compared to Bitcoin.

I just think "what happened to satoshi?" Is more interesting than "who is he?".
And it's a better reason to come back.

There is no point in asking this question though. We can only speculate because we have yet to confirm is actual ID.

My point is that we should by pass that step, and assume death. If he returns it will be cooler that way.

Now that Bitcoin is becoming a world-wide phenomenon I highly doubt he will ever return judging by how secretive and private he was when used to be active in the community. He was not a person who craved attention or admiration from others. He had a job to do. It does not surprise me that he left when Bitcoin became a self-sustaining community of enthusiasts and developers, his job was complete at that point. I like to imagine he is off somewhere else doing good in the world, like feeding ducks, at least if he's not been hit by a bus I mean.

He might be right here now on forum under another hero member account. He probably does not have access to his original wallet.dat.
He won't reveal who he is now. He'd be a marked man.
Not more marked than Assange or Snowden. Satoshi did not break any law by creating Bitcoin as I know.
