Title: Dwolla just called my cellphone...
Post by: kookiekrak on July 27, 2011, 09:36:19 PM
They called to verify my name, mailing address and email.

They say they're being proactive about preventing fraud.

I asked if transactions are reversible.

He wouldn't give me details but he told me they're working hard on the TradeHill situation.

Cool stuff eh?

I really hate that they do that.  They are training their customers to give out that info to whoever calls and claims to be Dwolla.  If someone calls and asks for personal information, always ask to call them back and verify the number they give you before you do.

Not at all. They only provide their service for Americans, so my account with a fake phone number will be suspended after a few weeks.

"Working hard" as in "working hard to cover up more evidence" or "working hard to ignore attempts by TH to get ANY response from them?"
 >:(

I was called weeks ago. At first I thought it was some form of fraud. I saw my email address in the leaked MtGox database, and I thought someone is trying to get my personal information. I told them to  **** off.

But now that I think about it, the caller was probably legit.

Maybe you made them realize something.

kookiekrak:
Did they verify in any way that they are the real Dwolla and not some scam?

They told me I could verify my account through their website. But, they may have wanted to say more.

Like I said, they were probably legit now that I think about it.

I also received a call and did not divulge any information until I called and verified through Dwollas Support phone # listed on the Dwolla Website and with a trouble ticket #.

I Agree they need a better way to contact the customer that does not feel like a scam.

meh i figured they couldnt do much with my info.

i also "accidentally" stated my temporary apartment address first to check that they were legit.
