Software tycoon turned cryptocurrency enthusiast John McAfee recently revealed that he charges $105,000 for each tweet he sends out promoting digital coins or initial coin offerings (ICO). Last week, McAfee tweeted that his team had written up a guide on how his promotional tweets worked, and posted it to McAfee Crypto Team, an organization McAfee and his team put together to promote ICOs.

FOMO, propaganda and indoctrination. As usual with cryptocurrencies.

Maybe his account has been hijacked again. Lol.
I never trusted him. And I believe he's already made a huge amount of money with his pump and dump schemes. Probably one day we'll still see the McAfee Coin.

Same with you,, Do not trust him anymore,, See the ICO project with frills supported by McAfee,, most of the price of the token is destroyed after being listed on the exchange. Example ,, sether  :D

Information from well-known experts helps attract many investors to reach the projects they promote. A given data can also make it a FOMO for the Altcoin listed on the exchange. A Tweet can significantly influence the trend of all, he is the one who can change the trend of everyone.

Comes to show that he really just wants that money. But now that they publicized the promotion service and the price though, people will know that McAfee really doesn't necessarily like those coins that he's shilling, but he's shilling them because of the service he's providing.

I also look at it this end why with mcAfee every tweet that he made me always follow it, as I see it here that all ICO prices on trading sites are not worth the price of ICO

I am not sure if this is true or not, but wow $105,000 just for one tweet that is really expensive. Probably ICO who would get his service is really serious about their project. To be honest I do not mind that he would charge more than a hundred grand for a tweet since he is very influential on the crypto market.
Trust him or not regarding crypto currency advice you got to admire his courage on betting Bitcoin will reach a million dollars or he is going to eat his dick. (LOL)

That’s expected for most popular accounts on social media.. I don’t even think there is one person with huge followers doing it for free or don’t have investment or coins in HODL and just do it for nothing.. I don’t say it’s acceptable in most cases,, but reality is ordinary person need money so then what more the rich and influential,, because for sure they wanted more..

This promotional is one advertising practice even in mainstream media,, this is not new or even to be shocked with..

I'm not surprised though because the effect after john mcafee tweet an ICO or a project is really impactful. Once Mcafee tweet about ICO, i always see that many investor will invest on that ICO and sometimes they can reach hardcap easily. The recent one is bob's repair ICO, Mcafee tweet about them and their presale reach hardcap 6k ETH.

Every man has to earn. If he decides to use his influence as one of the first tech innovators to hype altcoins then that's on him. Plus how old is he? I believe he is almost 75 years old.

Let the old man have his fun as long as you do not take him seriously.

Yeah, we said that his account was hacked about a few months ago when he started to make a tweet about "coin of a day" and looks like he is pumping and influencing certain coin that time but cried saying his twitter was compromise and blaming twitter itself.  ;D ;D

So it looks like the guy is really making huge amount of money by jumping on the crypto bandwagon about the second half of last year. Everyone has really some "bad" intentions on jumping,  ;D ;D, maybe look at his previous post and see which coins still maintain and which has lost a lot specially he is charging a lot of money per tweet.

There are even some articles saying that he is more of a influencer, but honestly, I really don't know what it really means. lol.

After providing certain type of special quality services in any specific field, the person becomes popular.  He becomes a brand of the particular product.  People start following him.   Because of their (public) trust on the "person" his followers start working in the directions shown by him. He becomes ambassador.  Then companies of that field which want to promote their services / products of that field, come into picture by hiring his services to advertise their products and may be paying certain amount in return.  The remuneration amount will depend upon the person's following in the market.  With large number of followers trusting him will be charging very high amounts and the persons will lower followers may be paid lesser amounts.
In above case if he is getting paid highly, no wonder.

I do not know which side I will trust in this. Also, why depend in the tweet of John McAfee if you can promote your own ICO by yourself instead. Depending on a single guy can be too risky and I won't buy it. That last few statements will be said by a guy not trusting John McAfee. But, if one fully trusts him, he would said that 0.13 $ per tweet is a good buy because the tweet will be seen by so many followers and your ICO will become famous at a faster rate rather than doing the tweets and facebook posts by yourself.

Is there anybody that still take John McAfee's opinion on something, seriously? He is going from hot to cold in an instant and he has a very shady past. In a documentary on his life, it was revealed that he paid girls to defecate in his mouth. <Do you want to take any crypto currency advice from someone that does that or better yet, pay $105,000 for that?>

John has clearly taken too many mushrooms, when he made those decisions. ^hmmmmm^

Why are products like Nike shoes are endorse by sport superstars, Nike can endorse their own product. Why do they need celebrities to endorse their product if they can do it them self. You know why because they can influence people to buy the product that is how the advertising world works. You probably do not trust John McAfee and I do not believe his very optimistic prediction about Bitcoin but they are called influencer for a reason.

This is the advantage of one popular person on social media especially on twitter. If you have many followers then you can make money with it and that's what McAfee did. I expected this is happening because he will not promote an ICO without any money involved with it.

McAfee know already that if he tweeted an ICO, his followers will invest with it because many believes in what that person said but I don't invest in the ICO he is promoted. 105k$ for one tweet only is such an expensive amount but in return, it will be millions for the company.

Is this really true? Or another propaganda to promote cryptocurrencies. But as of now let's just be happy that they are enthusiastic on crypto currency because they are able to purchase cryptocurrencies in a big amount. Which they could help bring the price up.

He is a money hungry slut, that's for sure, but this story stinks big time. He has been Tweeting about utter shitcoins that people could pump themselves with that amount of money and Bitcoins. I think this is nothing more than another attempt to distract the attention away from him personally. He was showered with negativity for recommending utter shitcoins, then he claimed his Twitter account got compromised and hackers Tweeted about these coins, and now this again. He is a manipulative, pathetic billionaire, eccentric old man. I see people some time say that he's good for Bitcoin, lol. Good because the keeps throwing with nonsense predictions, and that he's going to eat his genitals on TV? Oh, please. ::)

This is normal since John is really a famous guy even though he is not involved in crypto. His promotion rate are worth it since many people are always visiting on his social media account. This is just like a popular artist hired in a promotional video. Even though their brand that they are promoting is shit, they are still paid off by huge money. Business is business mate.

Yet another one of these people who wanted to be recognized because they've realized already just how dead their company is. And then, probably he must've thought that if he could gain the attention of people back to his company by using the trend of cryptocurrency as one of the most talked topic right now in the internet, and by adverting some money just to look like he really cared, maybe he could save his company.

I don't like the guy but he does not need recognition, he has plentry already.

And seeing how people are turning against him is just painful to watch.
When he was tweeting about bitcoin reaching 500 000 and his bet on eating his own *** everybody was applauding and praising him for the publicity he was doing for cryptos.

And, I request to everyone,  Don't invest your money by hearing or reading Mcafee's tweet. Do research and then go on. I found some good teams, Whose are very good in the #Crypto Market. And these are The Amazix team, Bountyhive team and then The Tokensuite team. I really very grateful to them because they help me to make good Money from their ICO

I believe he knows that the SEC is already hot on his heels with an insider trading charge, and the only recourse is to pretend that he has a "social media marketing company".

when I said John McAfee is spamming "positive" news about bitcoin not because he believes in it but because he wants the publicity, nobody believed me. now here you go! proof that McAfee was in fact begging for attention instead of anything else and he is not milking the opportunity as much as he can.

first he started by hyping bitcoin and gaining a lot of profit from the rise that would have happened without him too and then with the popularity he gained that way, he then started with altcoin pumps where he bought some shitcoin and then advertised it on his twitter account to get it pumped so that he could dump it and gain profit (classic pump and dump group). now he is also promoting ICOs and getting paid to do it too.

How can they accuse him of "insider trading" ?

That is publicity not trading.

As far as I know he doesn't own any exchange so from this point he is clear.
He might be accused based on having access to insider information but even those can be easily ripped apart by a good lawyer. There is no chance the SEC will attempt this, and clearly not over some shitty altcoins.

Extraordinary income. The launch of ICO does require a good and reasonable promotion if McAfee Crypto Team charges such a large promotional fee because it creates more investors to participate in the fundraising of an ICO. Advertised by a McAfee that is as powerful as one of the richest people in the world is a tremendous strategy but I see that the ICO that has been promoted by it after entering various markets just cannot survive and its price is destroyed.

McAfee is the very definition of a sell out. He'll literally promote any old crap just as long as you pay him. Sadly there's that many sheep following him looking for the next big thing to hope onto his promotion is probably worth them paying. You can see this with other 'celebs' like Mayweather etc who have also promoted straight up scams and they don't care just as long as they get the quick cash to do so.

Here's a question. Why would he risk his credibility by exposing himself as a pumper?  :-\

I'm not sure if it falls under inside trading or not (probably doesn't) but he'll probably get paid in the token that he's agreed to promote. Most of these scam ICOs don't have $150k to throw at him for something that might not even take off. As for the SEC coming after him I'm sure there's many other dodgy things he's doing that some government body can stiff him on.

But I know that the KWH project, which he advertised, barely collected softcap...

McAfee has perfected his art and is used to making obscene claims that drive traffic and attention to him.  i'd rather you dont pay attention to his claims,

Damn, $105k for a single tweet is crazy. $105k is like 20-50% of bounty allocation in any bounty campaigns and have to be shared to hundred to thousand of bounty participants. In the end, we still have to do own research on ICO before invested.

After this news, I think he will not earn such money, because people will not trust him more. What sense in this paid adversiting?

I always thought everyone knew, why would he be tweeting about so many projects and ico's?
And so many bad coins as well.

Sadly I actually think it'll be on the contrary. This revelation is more like an advertisement for him now that it's out in the open so people know he can be bought and are more likely to seek out his promotion. People know a tweet from him is very valuable for their coin because it does have an impact on the price with all those idiots who are always looking to throw their money at something.

Also, buying tweets is nothing new. I read a while back that Christiano Ronaldo charges 250k a tweet to promote something. I've yet to hear about him promoting an ICO though but most of the time these prominent figures with large social media followings will promote anything as long as you pay them though something tells me Ronaldo will have lawyers that advise him on these things.
