Title: 150GH of computing power has joined the global pool today? Post by: humble on February 08, 2011, 05:40:00 AM When I checked http://bitcoincharts.com about eight hours ago it was showing a global hash rate of around 175. Now the global rate is over 330. Where would that much additional computing power be coming from?

As block generation is not very homogeneous itself, it's normal that this global hashrate estimate varies with it.

The blocks per hour figure depends on sample size. Bitcoin Charts seems to be looking back 72 blocks. Bitcoin Watch is probably looking back further. |
