Title: Which pool for mining VIVO?
Post by: stna1981 on April 03, 2018, 10:32:29 PM
Hi folks,

since altminer has gone offline, I've been looking for a reasonable alternative mining pool for VIVO, but I could not find any pools that has a significant amount of workers. "Largest" one is http://antminepool.com which a pool hash of about 120 MH/s which is quite lkow compared to over 4 GH/s net speed. Where do all these people mine?

Best regards

Stefan

Have you looked into pools like Yiimp.eu, HashRefinery and Zpool.ca?  All three are currently mining Vivo as part of their Neoscrypt coins, so you should be able to receive your pay out in Vivo even though your mining output may go towards helping the pool find blocks for other coins.  Of the three, it looks like www.zpool.ca (http://www.zpool.ca) currently has the highest Neoscrypt hash rate at 3.3 gh/s.

Can't find VIVO at Yiimp, HashRefinery has really low hash rate and the concept of ZPool is not the one I'd like to use. I want to explicitely mine VIVO and not sth. else even when I get paid in VIVO in the end. Just looking for a normal VIVO pool where I can mine VIVO and get regular payouts, like it was the case with altminer.

The problem is, once zpool picks it up, you really can't mine it any place else.  They will throw a bunch of hashrate on the network when difficulty is low, mine all of the coins, and once difficulty shoots back up they will go to the next coin.  This makes it very difficult to mine it exclusively.   This is especially true with neoscrypt coins

Have you checked the VIVP ANN thread on this forum:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2110690.0

There is a list of mining pools. I see that some of them might not be functional any more, but, for example, on https://www.mining-dutch.nl/ you can mine VIVO.

By the way, I find it fascinating that the official VIVO website has no info about where a person can mine their currency. Really strange.

Here's some current data from active vivo pools:

Pool                Workers    Blocks in 24h

gos.cx                 150            1 hour ago
zpool.ca              107           51 minutes ago
ahashpool.com      77             1 hour ago
zergpool.com        66             1 hour ago
phi-phi-pool.com   45           51 minutes ago
starpool.biz          23              1 hour ago

Hope that helps!

gos.cx - Miners: 0
ahashpool.com - Miners unknown, but cannot be many

Zergpool seems to be such a pool where hashpower comes and goes, when I checked it varied between 12 and 650 MH/s
Currently I use antminepool, but hashrate is quite low.

Yes, it's really tough to find any active pools for Vivo. Anyone know why that is??

Be careful if you decide to mine VIVO at some of the larger pools.

For example on zpool.ca the only guaranteed currency is BTC

BTC is the only guaranteed payout currency

So check out the conditions, usually given on the homepage first. Happy mining!
