Title: Unconfirmed Coins in my Bitcoin QT
Post by: jmevz on November 05, 2013, 09:42:04 AM
Hi,

I just got a payout of coins from Slush's pool, however they're Unconfirmed in my wallet. It's saying received with 0 of 6 confirmations. Does this mean these coins are part of rewards where Slush is still verifying? So when Slush is verified to the last round, they will become confirmed?

Thanks,
Jeff

No, it means the transaction that paid you those coins isn't verified by the network.

You will usually receive the coins once they are confirmed to the network, if you are sending them from a pool to your wallet you are making one transaction, that can take up to 1-3 hours. Once it is confirmed you will have it avaliable.

If you want then to send from your wallet to an exchange, such as mtgox, you will have to make another transaction and wait again 1-3 hours.

Depends on the amount of fees, High fees=Higher priority, Confirms faster. Lower fees= Lower priority, confirms slower

2% fee. What pool are you guys on? I should look around...

Also, what are the dangers of sending coins direct from pool to exchange?

:)

I though 6 confirmations is 1 hour? 1 confirmation every 10 minute right?

It just means the transaction from the poor isn't done verifying yet. 6 confirmations can take anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple hours. On average though it will take about an hour.

Depends on the network speed, sometimes, two blocks can be mined at the same time.
