I found this article, and I am just curios do you agree with the author? Are these countries most crypto friendly in Europe?

i think there are even more crypto-friendly regulations in Europe but yeah, for the most part, i definitely agree, even got to see some of the countries i had in mind when i opened the article.

i really wasn't expecting Georgia though but i'm glad to see that it made the list, definitely surprised me.

You should not rush with such assertions. Since any country, at any time, can change its attitude to crypto currencies.

Northern Countries know what they are doing. That's one reason why they are the happiest countries in the world. They know what's going to happen and they know what to do :)

I think the author is assessing current situation, nobody is able to predict what will happen in the future.

Well, this is not an indicator when a particular country approves of this market, as in the case of some countries, we can see that at first they approve and then ban the market and this phenomenon is spreading

Yes but we are speaking about this current situation, of course all this might change. There are a lot of factors which can influence the situation, on is the change of government for example.

They can but I don't think a country is very likely to go 180 on their crypto views. Sure, China has flip flopped a lot in the past but my point is, I don't think a government will go from encouraging crypto startups and providing incentives to banning them or something like that.

Very good article. However, Georgia is not in EU and it's harder to live there. It's much easier to choose another EU destination if you don't want to fill 5 tons of paper.

Estonia is really very tech-friendly country. I hope to see the same in Finland. This country is leading in game development, so they have fantastic programmers and tech specialists.  Also, don't forget about Belarus. I hope this law will make a sense

Honestly, I don't understand why other countries like China and Russia don't want to be friends with cryptocurrency. As if it is going to have any bad effects on the countries economy. If you guys know there will be a negative effect on the country, please inform me.

Some of them are Canadians countries. Not sure about Georgia and slovenia but there is a lot of projects are running in the switzerland right now.
France can be considered as crypto friendly country too if you can try to complete all of requirements from the regulators to be registered by an official institution. I do not agree with what has been writing by the author.

It's a good thing. I think Europe is going to be ahead of cryptos, and Europe will be the place to use the first cash instead of cash in the world.

I know that Germany and Portugal and Italy have been very open about bitcoin, and recently, Britain has begun to welcome bitcoin. In European countries, I have to pay special attention to Russia. Last year, the Russian government had also rejected bitcoin, but this year was quite different from last year. They even planned to specify the regulation of ICO. If so, Russia is planning to legalize the digital currency.

Yeah it's really strange since some countries are super invested in it because obviously they want to make a profit from it (taxes, etc). And some countries are already doing that through regulations and so on, but meanwhile, some don't even try. It's like they don't want the free money they'd get. ;D

I think the future is in UK after the Brexit. UK would love to make itself a centre of crypto to extend its already very strong finance section in its economy.

That's a good point. I think the crypto industry is really popular in the UK as well so I wouldn't be surprised to see new startups and successful companies from there.

I like Switzerland, Estonia and Malta. I live in Turkey and no restrictions in Turkey. I feel most safe in Estonia to myself  :)

I think you are absolutely right. UK is very open minded when talking about money. They will do anything to invite more capital. And after Brexit they will be even more open minded.

It is interesting, that the three countries of Eastern Europe (Estonia, Slovenia and Georgia) appeared in the ranking. Two of them are former Soviet republics. I think these countries have excellent chances to attract blockchain enthusiasts and raise the economy of their country. I think other countries will follow their example.

But on the other hand, as some people have said, it just doesn't make sense to not want to be involved in the crypto scene altogether by some governments.

There is potential and profit to be made in there, but they don't seem to want to get invovled.

Estonia is definitely super interesting. I'd love to become their e-resident in the future. ;D

I think more or less, with some exceptions, most countries in Europe tend to be very pro-crypto.

I can confirm that Slovenia is as the article claims, very crypto-friendly.
Here are some of the most successful projects from SLovenia: Iconomi (ICN), Viberate (VIB), Cofound.it (CFI), Quantum (QAU), SunContract (SNC), InsurePal (IPL), Hive Project (HVN), SportyCo (SPF), MedicoHealth (MHP).

I think that Cyprus might be it. They have been home to forex and binary option websites for about a decade now. They don't publish data of those companies! It's alsi very attractive due to taxes. Regulations on bitcoin could be liberal enough to attract crypto companies as well.

I've heard that France wants to be the new Switzerland for ICO's and wants to be home for the new ICO's - so it should probably be on this list also.

Yes i agree with you Germany to me is a friendly crypto country,  japan too is a crypto friendly country but nonetheless they still some uncertainty about how it wil be regulated in all this countries.

I am interesting when all countries over the world will integrate Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in their economic system. I want to see cryptocurrency debit cards, opportunity to spend them in supermarkets, real life, pay bills and taxes with BTC.

A very good strategy for attracting investment in the country. I think this is a very good leap will give, if they realize their plans.

Although I agree that Switzerland, Denmark, Estonia, Slovenia and Georgia are crypto-friendly countries I don't think they stand out that much to call them the most crypto-friendly countries in Europe. In fact almost all the European countries are very crypto-friendly with the exception of Republic of Macedonia which government should be ashamed of the fact. I wasn't able to find the relevant info on some Eastern European countries, so, please correct me if I was wrong and there are more countries in Europe, apart from Macedonia, were Bitcoin is illegal.

Yes, you are right. The have started seeing the glimpse of it that cryptocurrency will soon be embraced by many governments, even those that seems to be calling for ban. There are countries that gave now accepted cryptocurrency and some have commenced its use as a means of exchange. Apart from it being used as a means of exchange, some have also seen its usefulness in terms of its technology. Cryptocurrency has really got a good future.

Estonia has very loyal legislation. Many countries are now struggling with the Estonian government because the business chooses this country to minimize taxes. There is even an opportunity to get e-citizenship of Estonia on the Internet. This does not give the right to become an Estonian citizen, but you can register and conduct business in this country.

hi, I think Belarus as Eastern Europe  country should be included to the list.  Republic of Belarus introduces some liberalisation of the business environment for the innovative and high-tech sector and the status of cryptocurrency.

Switzerland is probably the most crypto friendly, as they are friendly to anything than makes their Assets Under Management grow and particularly if it is not transparent.

They are not an advanced economy, so they are looking for different options to succeed in something. It makes me very happy, I see this country as potentially possible for moving.

Yeah because the world economy is being dominated by only few countries that they feel they are superior, and third world countries being suck by monster country all they want  to get the resources those countries. It's a good  ideas to engage in crypto currency to alleviated their economic status.

Countries with the most freedom tend to be the most lenient towards new developments. Right now though it is Swiss, Lichtenstein among the most crypto-liberal...but The Netherlands and most Scandinavian countries will follow suit. Even if they start with some regulations, I trust it will be for the better (in my case since I am living in The Netherlands). I can imagine that in other countries this might be perceived completely different (any form of regulations).

Germany should be on that list as it has an advanced economy and is allowing bitcoin to trade there. Also, LISK is from germany and is going to be the bigger and better version of ethereum. They are releasing their product this year and everything is pointing to the sky!

Hmm. Generally, Europe is pretty welcoming towards crypto. These countries are surely deserving their place on the list. However, it is interesting to see that Belarus is not on the list. Lately, Belarus made changes which highly benefit companies, miners, etc. in the crypto market.

Also, governments can change their attitude towards cryptocurrencies pretty quickly, so this list might change quickly.

Germany is definitely one of the bigger powerhouses in Europe, in all things finance, crypto, etc.

But it's just that I don't really see a lot of headlines connecting Germany with crypto world for some reason, compared to other countries.

It's interesting you made that connection because a lot of post ussr countries are really into crypto for some reason. Belarus is another example of this and I really wonder if there's a connection or why this happened.

I think as more and more successful startups and crypto companies come out of relatively smaller countries, we'll see more progress and even more startups from those countries.

For example, for Georgia, because of countries like BitFury and Ambit, we'll see further development in the crypto world for sure.

From what I have read in the net I would say that the reason for the most of the countries to be crypto-friendly is that they see some opportunity to attract new investors and raise some additional money. Slovenia and Georgia in different positions when it comes to economy, but I believe both of them still need a lot of investment. So at this point the countries with stable economy are careful with crypto, but the G20 meeting showed that there are positive perspectives. Everybody expected very bad news from G20, but this didn’t happen

Good point. Unexpected investments like that could really impact the country. Especially if a country is relatively smaller and not as rich.

There are indeed a lot of cryptocurrency investment-friendly countries in Europe. A reason for this is that a lot if these countries are tiger-economies, meaning that they are steadily increasing in terms if economic growth. And their leaders are aware of the national economic benefits of allowing cryptocurrency investment in their currency. Just like Georgia which I am surprised was in this list.

I think if ambit ICO goes successfully more people will know about Georgia and be truly considered one of the best crypt countries, especially for mining.

Well BitFury is already a successful crypto organization from Georgia and that put them on the map I think already.

In Georgia there is an abundance of cheap electricity. There will never be able to exist a large number of miners, even if it will be created all the laws. The amount of electricity required for miners is constantly increasing. This can force miners to migrate to countries where there are many hydroelectric power stations.

As i know, trere are a lot of different companys developing cryptos and trying to built some rather succesfull projects on the world crypto-market.

But to attract company include in cryptocurrency is not easy job mate because it need more trust from company itself before adopting this technology.
Without believe i could say company will not adopt cryptocurrency for its sytem. So most company and country which trust crypto is in europe.

Well hopefully. There are some countries that try to ban it (India, China, etc.) but you can't escape the fact that it's the future currency.

Yes I think this is true because a cousin of mine is living in a Europian country and said that Botcoin is actually a topic to almost everyone in their work. We were talking about what I was doing here in my country and I told her I was trading then she wanted to know more about it because from where she lived there are a couple of stores and even restaurants that accept cryptocurrencies.

Yes! They are the most friendly countries for crypto. Such as Denmark, it is the home to many coins startups and exchanges like CCEDK. It also became the first Scandinavian country in March of this year where the purchase of real estate has been carried out using bitcoins. ;D

Of course they are the best for crypto I think! Buying, selling and trading BTC in Denmark is fairly easy due to a large number of BTC exchanges that operate freely. Many fintech companies in Denmark that specialize in blockchain technology and cryptocurrency are offering a solution for BTC and other cryptocurrency payments.

In my opinion, Estonia is the prettiest crypto friendly now. People just have to pay the 20% tax which is deducted from their profits once they finally move back into cash. As a company, you can lend yourself the necessary money. If you decide to cash out, you can repay yourself the original loan without paying additional taxes and pay out the profit as dividends.

After Binance moved Malta, I was expecting to see Malta on that list. I don'T know the regulations but there should be reason to move there.

I agree with this topic! Denmark is one of the most cryptocurrency friendly countries in the world and it is one of the first jurisdictions to have declared its position on the treatment of the Bitcoin! :D

I haven't read the article. But in my experience the most crypto friendly countries are the states which have the problems with finance system with money keeping and transactions. Crypto is alternative way in such countries.

I totally agree that Estonia is in the list as that country is actually friendly for crypto! It aims to become the best option globally for trusted ICOs and stipulates that providing services of the exchange of virtual currency or custodial wallet services requires an authorization. I am really happy when seeing Estonia in this list! It is totally friendly to all crypto as many limited liability companies with a cryptocurrency license in Estonia and the costs of starting a business is really low, which brings many opportunities for developers!

As per research, European countries such as Switzerland, United Kingdom, Netherlands and Denmark were Cryptocurrency friendly nations since they had adopted it's usage on bills payments transaction and monetary transactions. Government of these European countries are
very supportive of cryptocurrencies and people are more considerate in it's usage due to it's convenience.

Frankly, I haven't ever had a chance to buy goods in Europe using BTC, but I would add China to this list.
Because I bought something at 2 am in China for BTC in 2 minutes without any restrictions, borders and business hours.

Didn't China try banning ICOs a while back? I don't see how it's a great country for cryptocurrencies given the instability.

What the article says is true because there are enough reasons to belive that those countries are the most crypto friendly countries In Europe. I think Europe itself is the best country in the industry of cryptocurrencies because almost all ICO and exchangers are restricting people from USA to join them and that's why USA doesn't have the biggest industry of cryptos

Before everybody gets all excited and moved to Denmark because they're soooo crypto-friendly, let me just point out that most of the major banks in Denmark refuse to handle funds derived from crypto-currency trading and the tax on capital gains from crypto is 42%.

Yes there are many countries favouring the growth of bitcoin and considering it as element helping for economic growth and Europe is one of those crypto freindly continents. Switzerland is on of the most friendly countries in the world for crypto. It recently made a framework for regulation of ICOs in its country. It is especially helpful for startups who need funding via ICOs that is in compliance with Swiss laws. UK is surprisingly very helpful for crypto community after brexit. There have been setting up of organisations which help best practices and code of conduct.

I think Malta is the most crypto friendly nation in Europe. Sometimes small country suits for trying new technology or experimental institution.

I mean they have the proper infra structure for everything and most importantly they have the people who understand the crypto currency far better Thant he other world. They try to get hands on advice stuff quicker than us or the rest world. May be this is the reason why they are having good deal of countries having the crypto friendly environment. Many of the universities also trying to adapt the blockchain for teaching purposes and if it starts with education itself then why would not they be friendly one.  :D

Most countries are aware of cryptocurrency already. But Europe is likely the haven of most cryptocurrency specially ICO startup. Most country in Europe is likely to regulate cryptocurrency  because they wanted to control it and they can get tax from it. I think Europe is advance when it comes to digital technology and cash less society. I am sure there will be a mass adoption for Cryptocurrency in europe in near future. For me Switzerland and Estonia is the most cryptocurrency  friendly in Europe. This two European countries is developing their own cryptocurrency.

I'm sure that there are some other countries that welcome cryptocurrency well. However, it may be not clear in the regulation or still not stated in the regulation of the country.
Many more countries that welcome the crypto friendly will affect the cryptocurrency itself to be better. It is good for the crypto world because it will give positive issues.

European countries are not friendly to cryptocurrencies, even if now they claim the opposite. In my experience, I know that European projects often become a Scam, English and Swiss projects try to deceive their participants. Accurately it is possible to be sure only in the Asian countries, Japan and Singapore the most developed states in this respect, even imposing restrictions on exchanges they develop in this direction much more than other countries.

I think Europe is more friendly than some other continents like the U.S. and Asia, for now anyway.

Almost every country with  the exception of USA and China are  liberal towards cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency is been accepted by alk and sundry simply because it spur creativity and make existing payment system look obsolete.

Pretty much yeah, some more than others. But some even provide incentives (like Georgia, for example) and others that do 0% tax and so on.

I hope someday that crypt friendly countries will accumulate this year. I would say that our country which is located in the far east is already crypto friendly because there are already many individuals patronizing it although there are some who are still pessimist when it comes to digital currency.

I think European countries are more friendly to crypto than the others (e.g. Asian, most American, etc.). Though this might change in the future.

i think it's generally hard to generalize because the regulations and the taxes are different everywhere. and these regulations can make or break how accepting a country is for crypto. taxes are probably some of the most important things for that.

A lot of crypto exchange copmanies are moving to Malta so I think this is definitely the case. It's interesting that many smaller countries are the first ones to adapt crypto related policies so quickly
