Title: Monero - Hard Fork on 6th of April Post by: cavaBcoin on April 04, 2018, 03:35:12 PM Quote Monero team decided to postpone the scheduled fork from 28th of March to the 6th of April approximately. The reason is to give the developers team more time to update the project. This update will include fresh UI for Helium Hydra, the official Monero wallet. What do you think about this? Will event do the price of Monero goes up or not? Why? Title: Re: Monero - Hard Fork on 6th of April Post by: Proton2233 on April 04, 2018, 04:06:27 PM The main reason for the fork is the news about the appearance of asics to use the cryptonight algorithm. Team Monero wants to protect its GPU miners from the arbitrariness of Bittman. I don't think that's the only coin that's going to use this year's fork. In mid-July, the first supplies of asics for Ethereum are expected.

We probably won't see the rise of the price right before the hard fork because of the high Monero demand among those who would want to get some free forked coins. Title: Re: Monero - Hard Fork on 6th of April Post by: Ciucas on April 04, 2018, 07:34:51 PM In the cases of hardforks, the price usually goes up before the airdrop, and it gets dumped after the airdrop is finished.
However for a big coin like Monero, i don't think the price will fluctuate very much because of this fork. |
