I've seen video of one being used, and it looks very slick. But I'd like to hear an actual report on it from a forum member. Anyone?

I was just there tonight.  There's a video somewhere, someone will bring it up here.

The use is pretty cool, you start with the screen where you choose "Buy, sell, or redeem code"

Then you scan your palm, and either create an account, or log in (all it takes is a palm scan)

If you're creating an account, it takes 6 palm scans and an email address, then <5 min wait time.

After that, you estimate what you want to buy, and it shows the exchange rate (a bit high, but still good)

then you get a receipt

Then you choose where the coins go, you can either deposit to your phone, or get a paper wallet generated

Then deposit cash, and voila!

Theres a bit of a wait to get the funds, maybe 15 min?  Then you have to wait for confirmations.

I havent done selling, but I assume its the same.  The sell price is really good, basically the same as online exchanges.  Sell was at 245, buy was 270 today.

Redeem i think is you scan a paper wallet, and it gives you cash.

What is the address for this ATM?  I can't wait to go see it  ;D

It's @ waves coffee shop 900 Howe St but it wants face pics, ID scan, and palm scan so meh, not interested. I've even had people off localbitcoins meet me there to trade which takes less than 30 seconds, no ID, no scans and for cheaper rate lol

If you are local to VC, i might bug you for the trade when I'm in the area!

I used the machine this past weekend and was impressed.  It takes a bit of time to "teach" the machine your palm (you need to scan your palm several times and then wait 5 min), but after that, all subsequent transactions are fast and simple.  You can feed the machine a big stack of cash and it eats it quickly and without missing a beat.

A couple of the guys from Bitcoiniacs (the owners of the machine) were there too, and it was nice to get to chat with them face to face.  

I wanted to point out for posterity that the machine DOES NOT scan your ID, DOES NOT require a picture of your face, and DOES NOT require your email address.  The only required personal information is the palm scan.  Yes, there is a security camera (like most ATMs), but you could wear those glasses with the moustache and funny nose if you wanted to "trick" the webcam.  But seriously, Robocoin and Bitcoiniacs have done an excellent job adhering to the $3000 / day limit imposed by Canadian law while still respecting our privacy.

It works real well for a first try.

Its so nice to hear that there are so manny ATM's coming up everywhere. It really makes people who have not been using bitcoins yet to see it as a currency used around the world and not se it as some risky bubble. I hope there will come some ATM's in the uk :)

I'd like to see some bitcoin atm's installed in Dubai. I think that would help a lot.
