Title: Bitcoin Paper Wallets
Post by: randayh on November 06, 2013, 06:29:37 AM
Paper Wallets are the safest means of storing your bitcoins. Protect your investment and your money from hackers by using our paper wallets as an offline cold storage for your bitcoins.

All Wallets can be generated and printed offline without fear of someone stealing your private key. The full source code to our engines can be downloaded, viewed and stored to your local computer if you choose to generate your wallets offline. This is the surest and most secure way possible to store your coins!

Paper wallets don't interest me because it seems like they only have two uses:

1.  Creating a "physical" bit coin representation that can help overcome the psychological barriers non-tech people have to a currency that only exists virtually.
2.  Helping people who like Bitcoin, but somehow don't trust their own impulse control not to sell, and having it physically and with the wallet address hidden even from themselves is one way of beating their own impulses.

I am in neither of those two groups of people.

I guess an argument could be made that they're more secure in the physical world than sitting on your computer, but if your computer isn't secure I think you have bigger problems.

I've seen a few threads talking about designs for paper wallets before, but having trouble finding them atm.  Just search "paper wallets".

You are thinking really short term about that. Some people just want to buy it, print it out, and forget about it. There's no really better way of doing it.

Use Armory.

You do one paper backup, which allows you to restore all future private keys.

It is much easier to verify the integrity of a piece of paper than it is a digital wallet.

Do some birthday and christmas themes. I'm starting to give bitcoin for these holidays and I think other people would also like to do so if they thought about it. Imagine what would happen if everyone started giving bitcoin instead of useless junk nobody needs.

So what's Bitbills gonna do now? They have a patent on worldwide paper bitcoin or something? Hope I am wrong.

http://bitbills.com/

The more things are getting open and forward thinking the more a lot stays the same.

I need to patent my brain wallet scanner quick before it is too late.

I am in the camp of "print it and forget it" for long term investment. I love paper wallets.

This.

Mine is in a safety deposit box, and security-worry free.

For Paper Wallets to be safe you must make it in plastic polymer.
