Title: Sending small amounts of Bitcoin to different addresses.
Post by: minifrij on November 06, 2013, 04:37:03 PM
Hello,

So, I wanted to send some Bitcoin to different addresses (0.00001BTC). I want to send this to six addresses, equaling 0.00006BTC sent, which is over the dust limit to my knowledge. However, the problem arises when I try to send them, as I am met with a 'Transaction too small' error message.

Is there any way to do this? I have 0.0005 in my wallet, which is more than enough to cover it. I am using BitcoinQt.

Any help?

Thanks for reading,
-Minifrij

Just don't.  Bitcoin doesn't really support microtransactions very well.

You are trying to create 6 outputs that are all under the dust limit.  The limit isn't per transaction, it's per output.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the information anyway. I just saw transactions like this https://i.imgur.com/D1qmnAV.png in my main wallet and wondered if I could also do it.

If you did this, you would either end up paying TX fees over 10x what you're trying to send, or it would never end up getting confirmed.  Either way, bad idea.
