Spain seems to be going all out to collect tax, which is the right thing to do. But it will soon realise that it is not easy. There are exchanges based outside of Spain. It will not be easy to get information.

Just another sign of how authorities are waking up -- within a few years there is simply no escaping from paying tax anymore if you are using centralized services. It's not even worth avoiding tax for, because at the end of the day, you'll get busted anyway, which will not only result in you to pay the due taxes you didn't pay throughout the years, but also a hefty penalty on top of that. People just need to accept that this isn't the market anymore of back in the days. Crypto is developing itself as a whole new asset class, where regulations are part of the game -- accepting to pay tax after using centralized exchanges is what people need to do.

This is the consequence of the fact that bitcoin has not received its true destination. If users will use bitcoin to Fiat exchange operations I do not expect anything good. Millionaires will again return their assets to offshore zones and we expect a further decline in bitcoin prices. I hope that the ability to make purchases for bitcoins will appear before the tax authorities destroy it.

I read this news from other source and there is more info then in OP link.So far Spain tax office is sent requests to 16 banks, tens of exchanges and ATMs
companies and over 40 business entities who accept cryptocurrency as a method of payment. They want all information about transactions and information about those behind these transactions.I think it's a very large operation because usually authorities hunt users on exchanges, but in this case they want to tax everything related to cryptocurrency regardless of whether the user has bought / sold crypto, withdraw money at the ATM, or bought something online with BTC.

You can read more on this subject here (https://www.coindesk.com/spains-tax-authorities-seek-crypto-user-names-bank-accounts/) with link to official bulletin of Spain finance ministry published in March.
