It is quite clear that the all altcoin values rise up and goes down with the bitcoin. A clear indication of direct relation to the BTC value to the altcoins. Is it good for the coins or is it harmful for the market?

It was all the time, it's normal. I'm worried about the fact that trading volumes almost fell by 100 %

In my opinion BTC is the only King of the Market. Every crypto thing is directly dependent on BTC so it need to be strong all the time. Some people say that BTC do not have potential anymore but time has proved so many time that BTC is the ultimate crypto King

In terms of being good or harmful. I think dipping prices are good for the market as this allows new investors to join the crypto market and eventually grow the market organically without manipulation from some pump cartels.

It is normal for altcoins to go up and down with btc because most of them are pegged only in btc and not in usd.

I think it's just normal for now because what made people run for crypto is Bitcoin. Maybe in 2020, 2025, or even 2030, when Bitcoin's dominance will be as low as 5-10%, other platforms can stand for themselves such as Ethereum, Neo, Cardano, NEM, Stellar, and other major crypto.

At the moment it is just due to market sentiment, people are coming in the market with usd and then taking profit, so market is moving in terms of its usd volume, so we can say that at the moment btc and alts are in the same ship.

Bitcoin price effect the altcoin value specially when you say BTC price increases then 65-90 % that altcoin value increases too, but their are some altcoin that still dropping even though BTC is going up, because the problem is the number of their contributor does affect also a coin value.

It is good, because when bitcoin falling, altcoins falling, but when bitcoin growing altcoins growing too. Btc drives every altcoins and it is good. So there must be some negative effect. That is all

In my opinion it is bad for the market and good for the investor who knows how to surf and withdraw your profits and overall good it offers a winnings opportunity future when the market returns its axes in highs, so it is not a period of complaint but of gratitude. All values coin down and up because the market is very alive mostly taking profits. Yes usually when btc up altcoins does follow, due to the fact that some ride with the train to earned profit.

Yeah I observe it too. What left alone on green side are those with just low supply coins. I think btc has an influence to altcoins. Maybe it’s because many of altcoins still dependent to bitcoin exchange right before being converted to fiat currency.

I think in the business world and cryptocurrency that's the usual thing. Rising and falling prices are a natural thing and always happen. In some time the price of altcoin falls, and in a few months the altcoin price will return to normal even rise, and so on. So all such circumstances are fine. However, you must be smart in the face of such circumstances. Usually people will panic when the price goes down, and do dump when the price goes up. I think bitcoin is the driving force of all Krypto currencies, although I can not give the right reasons, But I'm sure bitcoin has a big role to change the market price.

This is quite nice, however for bitcoin. If the Assistant altcoin owns this is not too good because it based on other cryptos. If it does not have to follow the bitcoin might be better.

I think it's a normal thing but the concern now is day to day trading volume is getting down and making us become increasingly panicked.

Now the situation is beginning to change and some alts are growing despite the fall of bitcoin.

It is not good sign. Why ? Because its mean money flow to fiat not to another coin. And its mean money going outside cryptocurrencies market. I hope it will stopped asap and not going down further. We need to manage our emotion and dont do panic selling. Remember !! If we believe that blockchain is the futures we need to hold because it will probably going up again higher then before.

I think that this is not a good situation. The price of bitcoin has a large impact on the prices of altcoins. Even as there is no basis for price declines, altcoins moving in the direction delineated by the price of BTC.

I think it's not good, because altcoins can't rise iindependently according to their own developments and they are dependent to bitcoin speculations.

I don't get it why btc should be king in terms of its ties with altcoins.

Let's say altcoin 1 does a world problem solving magic trick and has a coin as an incentive to contribute towards it...on its own blockchain. There would be no reason why this altcoin is bound to bitcoin. Let's say this altcion 1 is paired against btc, eth and several other coins, but also to fiat pairs. Why would it matter if btc is still king or not?

All altcoins are tied to Bitcoin, because their cost is determined in BTC. Bitcoin is a leader and if he falls the whole market follows it. But it seems to me that someday the altcoin will be disconnected from bitcoin.

The crypto market is very young, and bitcoin is the most established coin. It is quite logical that in this situation  most coins have a direct correlation with bitcoin. In the future, when projects gain strength, experience, this dependence should weaken or disappear forever. But it will happen not in the nearest future)

I totally agree with your statement. Well in any business as well as in stock market, red days or dip is good in terms of gaining new partners, investors even competition within the market (new coins or project). The good thing is that once we recover crypto world will be bigger than before hence it will survive and for sure it CAN be acceptable worldwide. It may take time but it will happen for sure.

I think this is normal as bitcoin has been the barometer of the prices in crypto currency. Due to the popularity of bitcoin, most of the pairing on the exchanges had use bitcoin. Also in some exchanges you can buy bitcoin thru fiat or even credit cards.

It's normal because all alts trading  with btc mostly so if bitcoin up  alts price in USD  also up . Bitcoin work as index for alts

From an investor point of view it's a complete disaster that all alts are pegged to BTC value, because this prevents good risk management / diversification. At the end, no matter what you buy, you are in the arms of BTC swings.

BTC kingdom is about to die, IMO, as long as all exchanges are going to implement fiat gateways in the next weeks/months.

indeed almost all altcoin is influenced by bitcoin prices, but not all. and there is also a good altcoin price in the market. my own opinion if an altcoin value can already be applied in the destination I think the price will remain good, while the coin can still be in use

Well all coin still can be use but for the price its depent for volume Crypto market not just bitcoin. Cryptomarket December 2017 Reach almost 800B USD and all altcoin making a high price. so its depend whent the whale/investor crypto getback again into the market.

It has the biggest volume and capitalization though out cryptocurrency all of the exchanges with altcoins and tokens have the trading pairings with bitcoin and it is the main cryptocurrency that's why the rest called altcoins or other terminologies beside that, it is the heart and the core of crypto that's why it is very important to consider the price of bitcoin, CMC pricing compares with USD and the correlation value with bitcoin that's why they are dragging with the value of the main crypto.

Seems bitcoin almost dominates the market and it is not good. I hope there are at least two coins powerful enough to against bitcoin. If we have more powerful coins today, maybe the loss amount of every coin will not follow the bitcoin.

Actually Bitcoin is a king of crypto market and i think all the alt coins are related with bitcoin. And according to many crypto expert bitcoin will go to the moon within this year 2018 If this happen then others coins also will pump. So in that case i can say that, it's good to up and down with Bitcoin as well.

We are still in the beginning stage of cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin has a first move advantage here so it isn't a miracle the market losses faith if Bitcoin crashes. This view might change in the future though, once altcoins became more popular.

Bitcoin dominant on the cryptocurrency is not too good because it will limit good idea about  other projects and what there actually stand for.  Bitcoin is going to do very well in future and all others coins are going to follow and most time vice versa but that put limitations to those coins and put them under crumb.

I think it's only to be dangerous for investors, maybe you see a lot of new open-market coins that are far away from ico prices, they keep waiting until the normal bitcoin is up till when

I think it's very bad that everything depends on bitcoin. There are so many projects that are much better than bitcoin. And these projects are not allowed to develop.

Bitcoin is always dominates the altcoins and the whole cryptocurrency market. Bitcoin price definitely impacts the alts because all the alts pair with Bitcoin or Ethereum and the price of Bitcoin rise or fall should be affected as per my knowledge in this. It is not a good sign actually but there is no other option for alts as of current market situation.

Neither good nor bad, that is what it should be now, it is us who trade altcoins according to bitcoin, we still don't fully trust altcoins so that is normal now but may change in the future.

Bitcoin is the most popular and followed coin so it is a natural leader of the crypto market both for the up and down side. Still there are times when some coins buck the trend.

Well I think you are trying to call it a natural monopoly just because it has a huge share in the market and the remaining crypto currencies. That is right. Bitcoin has a huge market cap and has been one of its kinds since 2009. The market of course moves with the fluctuation in the graphs of Bitcoin. But I do not it is good because this hinders the ability and growth of other crypto in the market.

This is a common thing that happens in cryptocurrency, and all users have been cognizant of it. And I have a prediction that market conditions like this will happen long term, so that every user will get used to seeing this happen.

Yes that is how it would go. And In my opinion, it is just because of the big market share of Bitcoin that is influential in fluctuating the values of market. In other words the whole market moves with Bitcoin.

This is not good because of the fact that the coins other than Bitcoin have their own market as well and the prediction of many cryptocurrencies would have been very clear and easy if their markets were not masked by Bitcoin, but again we do not have a perfect competition at all.

Well, bitcoin dominating the market is based on the fact that the market is generally speculative in nature and that makes the whole market in its entirety subject to manipulation. For this reason, we have seen a lot of altcoins as just a pump and dump for profit environment with the whales driving the market how they want and that is absolutely one thing only real life usage can curb. So, in the absence of real life usage, it brings about a lesser community of users and so price becomes more speculative.

The first mover advantage actually, but I believe as the market matures, this is something that we will get to see less most especially when the alt market start having the ability to stand on their own, and then we get to see people using them in real life for the product with which they are backed on, and for things like this, we will end up seeing real demand and not just some punkish whale manipulating the market to his own benefits.

Altcoins' price has a correlation with bitcoin because bitcoin is the main currency and most altcoins are paired with either fiat or bitcoin. When bitcoin price goes down, most investors sell their altcoin because they know that altcoin price will be affected and they don't want to lose more money because of it.

Bitcoin /altcoin relationship is inverse,  bitcoin goes up,  altcoin goes down,  bitcoin goes up the more,  altcoin goes down even more.  Then a slight bitcoin depreciation then,  altcoin begin to moon.

I think that rule does not happen in this situation because most of investors are waiting. they have losen too much for a long time so now they wont apply this rule. they will wait until a big boom happens

I think that today the situation gives a good chance of investing in the crypto currency. But still you need to be careful and invest better in the most rated coins, because a bad market can adversely affect the development of many projects.

For bitcoin, a good position, because it is at least well stabilized and fixed in the leaderboard, and it is clearly visible on the chart, so I do not think that we need to change anything.

I would not say so about Bitcoin, because it is from the price of Bitcoin that almost all the crypto currency depends. Therefore, Bitcoin's leading position in the crypto-currency market is not an Accident, but a long-standing pattern.

BTC is the most recognized coin in the crypto market and also the natural leader of it,  on both the up and the down moves. This is nether good nor bad by itself.

I have nothing against Bitcoin, but it would be much better for the crypto-currency market if Bitcoin were used as a means of payment. Bitcoin may be an international crypto currency and at the same time only positively influence the crypto-currency market.

Theres no such specific trend on where short traders cant trade. No matter whats the trend in bitcoin or altcoins if its bearish or bullish and besides not all the times where volatility of btc alone would correlate with alts.

Bitcoin has been there since then and majority of the pairs are with it so it can't be harmful. I feel bad that are angry whenever bitcoin gives affect to the altcoins which cause them to sink once its starting to move inversely proportional from the usual move we know.

Bitcoin is king so altcoins movement depends on the movement of BTC. If btc is in downtrend the altcoins will move downward too and this is normal until now so don't worry if it goes with how bitcoin's price move.

It is not that it is bad or it is good,,, this is the simple fact of the crypto market that so many people do not understand or refuse to accept. I like some alt projects, we all do, but the problem is people just do not get that Bitcoin is crypto and crypto is Bitcoin. 99% of governments and banks understand this, and the market does as well. We can talk all day about how great a token or alt is, but the fact is, not one of them has the power and status of Bitcoin.

It will take time for recognition. It took Bitcoin 10 years! So just accept it for now.

Since almost every coin are paired with bitcoin on trading, so it is normal things if the price of it are depends on bitcoin value. Even some big coin that trade directly with fiat money still depens on bitcoin movement.

I mean you sell Bitcoin to buy Alts and vice versa. Unless people use Fiat for most of Bitcoins and Alts purchases then they can go up together.

I think it's normal for bitcoin to always be an indicator for all altcoins whether they want to go up or down and bitcoin has the right to get its dominance in the market. Sometimes not all altcoins depend on bitcoin, look at doge that has a high increase, so the main thing that determines is altcoin itself.

This is not good for those who invested in Altcoin specially if they choose the crap coins for their investments but it will not harm the whole Crypto market because since the beginning the Altcoins will always depend on Bitcoin performance and it have different reliable commodities therefore this is all natural for Crypto currency investment.

btc is like a mother for all altcoin, but not all altcoin price depend in btc price, not like altcoin who still controling by company, btc pure dezentralized, so the price pure from who realy need for transaction.

Most of the time, the values of altcoins would depend on bitcoin's value. But it isn't totally dependent as there are exceptions as what the trend presents. chances are that lately many altcoins are using ethereum intelligent contract platform technology following the price of ethereum, this can be seen when bitcoin prices soared quite high after the decline, but ethereum prices and some other coins did not follow but experienced a significant decline.

You can consider bitcoin as the driver because wherever it goes, majority of the altcoins are following it. It would be wise to put some funds in bitcoin and then put some in altcoins as well. Altcoins has large movements compared to bitcoin though because it has lesser volume but always be vigilant because some coins are just manipulated by whales for their pump and dump scheme. It is important to have a plan always so that you can avoid losing more funds.

A lot say that this is healthy, than a consistent decline of the market value. To think of it this attracks investor and minners makes furl money. Exchange as such can also trigger an incline that most of us are waiting. You can see waves of pumping and dumps lately which I agree thatbis healty.

For the market as well as for altcoins, this is bad and doesn’t give them the development and not show the real strength and power of their technology. Perhaps because of this, there are still no competitors for Bitcoin, but everyone is used to it and simply after earning a profit from alts, they all invest in Bitcoin to get a higher price.

It’s always been like that, when bitcoin drops, so as the altcoins. When bitcoin goes up, altcoins follows as well. So while the coins are down, it is better to buy some coins and prepare for the bull market.

It's not good because they are not independent and any problem, rumor or news that happened in the bitcoin will give them all a huge impact to their price.  When bitcoin goes down and then altcoin will go down at the same time but when bitcoin is not doing anything and altcoin will still fall. this market is not healthy.
