Title: 5850 too hot! Post by: edtks86 on July 29, 2011, 05:39:31 AM Hey guys I've got a Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 Xtreme oc to 830/1125 with 300 Mhash/s but the temps are too hot around 80-83C even without a case..

Title: Re: 5850 too hot! Post by: Dargo on July 29, 2011, 05:55:47 AM Why is your memory clock at 1125? Start lowering it steps and see how low you can get it. You should be able to get it down to 300 or so, and your card will run much cooler.

But a quick forum search will get you the answer. If you have already edited the config file, then I think just closing and opening afterburner will let you set the clock a little lower, then close and open again...keep repeating till you get to 300. If your comp freezes before you get there, then your card can't go that low and you will want to go back up a bit and leave it there.

forget everything that the other said ^^ And use TRIXX it is the best to OC Sapphire card you can go down to 300MHz for the memory and up to 1000MHz for the clock and you can also overvolt the car.
