Title: Is blockchain.info's wallet still safe ?
Post by: jambola2 on November 08, 2013, 06:30:49 AM
The question is above.
inputs.io has been hacked.
This is a self-moderated thread , and any scam accusations , unrelated to the question may be deleted.

Eventually, ALL wallets get hacked.

I think blockchain.info had a leak not long ago but can't remember.

So, I should not store my BTC in blockchain.info either ?

If you're accessing blockchain.info through the web, then if the frontend servers was compromised then you could be served malicious JS that dumps your private keys / sends them to the attacker's address.

I recommend not a huge amount. I have small amounts scattered everywhere and large amounts off the grid. As TF replied this is exactly what can happen.

But doesn't the G2F make it safe?

for less than BTC1 it should be fine. Just store your heap of bitcoins in your beer cooler.

2FA is purely enforced server side, your wallet is unlocked once you're in the wallet view and JS can perform any arbitrary action.
