Title: Underwhelming Results With Bitminter.com Post by: rwhite35 on November 08, 2013, 04:47:29 PM New to bitcoin and mining. After errors with compiled miners, I tried Bitminter. Bitminter(Java Virtual Machine) works and is sitting on a MacOSX Xserver 10.6, receiving about 25 units an hour. So far so good. However only 2 proofs were accepted in an hour and ten minutes. I've changed my workers difficulty level (1 most difficult - 20 least) to 5 hoping from more accepted proofs. Didn't seem to have a net effect. Is this level of activity normal?
The server is sitting on a FiOS(ATT) network and neither CPU workload or Network traffic changed, at all. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Mining is not really worth it atm, because of the high dificulty, FYI. Title: Re: Underwhelming Results With Bitminter.com Post by: rwhite35 on November 08, 2013, 05:09:23 PM Thanks for the reply. What are your thoughts on ACIS mining? Worth a look at?

Alternatively try mining Litecoin which was designed to keep coin production on generic PC parts. Are there ACIS or BFL setups that can be added to my existing hardware or are those a standalone hardware/software setup? Thanks.
