Hi all i have a lot of altcoins i invested before the bloody days and now most of then are down lik 50%. Should i sell them with no profit but also no loss or shold i keep them a little more to make profit? what would you do?

A lot of us are in the same situation, you have to make your own solution, as for me i am holding)))

Yea I also in this situation, But I am holding all alts coin .and will be hold until profit or no loss position. Even people can not believe that I am in loses about 80% money of holding in some alts coin.

It's too early for the Altcoins to collapse. If you don't need the money, you shouldn't sell it to the loss. If you do Hodl, you won't regret it.

You should wait until you will get less on your loss. It will become the right time if you will be deciding to sell your investment. If you are selling it at bottom and after that the price of altcoin will be going up and there is no way for you to recover your loss again. You should not sell them all until it gets recovered on its price at least to minimize you lose.

People believe in things that they want to believe. I'm in loses too, but I don't sell. If I sell those coins now then it would be a loss for sure, so why would I do that with my investment. Because of emotions? I don't think so.

Better keep that one until the bull market get hype, and wait until bitcoin will do recover because it's the one that make the alts go in hype too. If bitcoin is healthy most altcoins get into it.

It all depends on your and situation, whether you can afford waiting or you need to go in cash soon enough, I am not day trader and do not care about prices, I am strongly believe in crypto and blockchain and will hold for many many years.

If you are breaking even with your investments then I will say that you are doing a lot better than most people in the forum, since you are not losing money then I suppose that you are not panicking that much about the decrease in price so the question is why do you want to sell your coins? If you are no longer convinced about the coins in which you invested then you need to sell but if the coins are any good then you need to keep holding.

I don't think that any alt will get any significant pump soon. The general situation around the entire crypto market must recover first. If you are looking to sell your alts then everything depends on your entry point and your current needs. If you bought coins under the current price then feel free to grab your profit. But if you are in loses right now and you need money then your only option is to accept your loses. It won't get better in the next few days.

I would not sell my coins right now, but if you are sure that the coins will still fall, why not? It all depends on how you confident  market behaves

Do not sell in loss just wait and hold, just like this downtrend there will be uptrend too, trading moves in cycles so hopefully next wave will be big up.

I'd suggest that continue to hold for it since the cryptos are down for a long period of time and i think there will be a change of phase in the near future and it will be green for all cryptos. So just wait for more further development of each cryptos and earn profit later

Since you are at or near the break even price, it would be ideal to sell and wait at the bottom. Even if the bottom has already been reached and we just don't know it yet, it's better safe than holding on to potential losers.

I hope when you bought a lot of altcoin before bloody market you using money management, so you can buy back when the Day come with storm. You can get more discount and then sell it when you get profit or sell on the price that you bought first.

I think you at least wait them to return back -%25 of all time high (at december 2017) I also had many altcoins and I am not stuck with all of them waiting for prices to raise after bitcoin in late 2018 (safe guess)

This is not good time to sell altcoin. You will get a big loss. If you have not any urgency of fiat money then you should to recover the market. I hope you will get profit on your investment.

Everything can happen, there is no right answer here. As for me - I don't want to sell my alts for now and I'll be holding them. But nearly all of my coins were earned by participating in bounty campaigns so I won't lose money in any case.

You sell it when you have profit! Though sometimes if you think that it will go lower then you need to cut your losses then buy again at a much lower price. In this way, when it goes back up then you will earn more profit which you can sell with happiness plastered upon your face.

Waiting for a good timing to sell is like a sniper waiting for a headshot. We all know that market is pretty wild these past few days so much better to hodl and of course observe the market whether it is profitable to sell or cutting your loss. I hate cutting loss that is why all I have to do is relax just let the market green again and sell. I actually am cutting my loss but only when I really needed the money since crypto is my only source of income. I also regret hodling tokens since I already got a loss of maybe 3/4 of it's original value is down so it is very hard for me to wait that long to recover that loss but it's okay since I only got those tokens from bounty campaigns.

I think it loses too much if you sell it for half the price the better you hold it even though I know you should be saturated waiting until the price goes back but I'm sure you're still not ready to bear losing so much so wait a little longer

I would probably sell all coins it because I think that bitcoin will still fall and accordingly pull down all the altcoins( but this only my opinion)

it depends from what you did, if you invested in an ICO i think you better hold untill price back to ICO price. but if you bought altcoins in the market hold it untill get a better price so you not loss too much

What are you holding altcoin? If they are potential projects then you should hold long term, otherwise sell early to avoid risk.

Its better to hold right now until you have gain some profit. And also its depends what token/coin you hold and if it is a good project you have to hodl your coin tightly.

Decide for yourself if you have really bad coins sell them. You can leave good ones. You can leave some of those in which you are not sure. Alot of people  are in a similar situation now, it is difficult to deal with trading every day because the market is not stable. Personally, I sold a lot in negative and I played on good coins thanks to trading. I will keep a few coins until they grow up.

The best time i feel you should sell your altcoins is when you are in profit. Otherwise, you may loose the bulk of the money you invested. It's safe to sell when we are green market but even if it's green but the price of the altcoins we are holding is small then don't sell. Sell only if your target profit is reach and if your altcoins that you are holding has no future at all you can sell it quickly because it price might  not go up.

The safest solution at the moment is that you should exchange all of the altcoins you own to ETH and hold will be more reasonable than the holding of altcoins. At present, the mayor's exchange rate is very volatile. The exchange rate of the whole market is mostly affected by the exchange rate of BTC and ETH. Why are you going to sell now that the price is already down more than 50%? There's no safe time to sell your alts as everyone has different target that they are satisfied to sell but you shouldn't sell at loss. Wait until the bear market is over and when the next bull run is at its peak then you can sell your alts. You just need to be patient and keep holding until that happens.

As with everything in life, I play to win.  I never play to tie or lose.  You should do the same, why sell now when you could of sold for a profits a few months ago.  If you HODL until now,  why wouldn't you consider HODLing a little longer until you see some profits?  Play to win!

It really depends about what altcoins you are talking about. Some of them could be good enough to increase back to their value while some of them crashed because of bad news and they are going to continue like that and never increase back. So you have to study their history and find out why their prices went down. If they worked really hard and they were doing everything to promote and grow their projects that means the price went down because all the market went down. But if the administrators of an altcoin did not put much work in or bad things happened to their project and thats why the price went down that means it will be hard to increase back. Follow your intuition and do what you think is good. As I said some of them are going to increase back but not all of them so it is your job to find and sell those who are not good.

I think it's better not to sell your altcoin at the moment, if you know you will lose if you sell it better you just hold your altcoin. I also have altcoin whose price is down 50%, but I still think if the price will rise again later. better be patient for a while than at a lot loss. My advice, if the price is still as low as this, don't sell it. if suddenly the price rises later, you will regret it.

I would hold them. If it's money you don't need to pay expenses, then hold them for 1 to 2 years. If you sell them with no profits and no losses, you're back to where you were before you invested and I assume you invested into crypto because you wanted to retire early or at least make some good profits so you can possibly travel or put it down on a house? Selling your alts now means you're back to working in that cubicle long term, the one where you want to leave. Believe in the tech and hodl.

I think that the price of cryptocurrencies is very unstable, and the skyrocketing and plunge have become the norm.
So instead of selling them in the bear market, it might be better to keep holding the coin until the bull market, so it seems that your profit and loss are also Only temporary.

You know, you are at 50% loss and if you sale now then you have to digest the loss if you can afford the loss.
If you can't afford the loss, then hold until you get profit. It may take 1 month in future or it may take 2 years to get your desired profit, who knows? Just do your own maths and decide on your own.

do you need money now? if not better hold it and wait. cryptocurreny will recover from this bloody days and price will start to grow. you can sell those coins that have less potential to grow and leave those that have potential.

Most of peoples in same problem for crypto market, its depended your financial situation if need money then you can sell other wise keep it on hold then you will get good profits coming days   

the only answer i have for that its when the market is in good shape,,because right now market its not friendly at all,,so if care its not taking about selling such person will just involve in debt on the long run,,so therefore we just need to exercisr patience for market to comes back to normal

in my opinion, if you don't need large funds for something payment. you should hold your altcoin. losing 50% is very much guys. learn with extra patience. will definitely give you a lot of profit. I believe it. because it has experienced all. you can sell your coins when the price is back up, and more than your purchase price.

Well, my opinion is, lets wait at the end of the year. cryptocurrencies increasing its price on those time. hoping your asset will recover from loss of fifty percent. but if the condition isn't as we hoped before, you may sell all of yours. no regret because youre not loss (altough etting lower gain).

We are facing the same problems right now, all coins are in the down trend and we should think a strategy wherein we can still make profit even in down trend.
some people are buying coins in this red sea using their extra money because they believe that it will moon soon in the next months.
As for me, I sold my coins at the start of the down trend then buy it back at the bottom. that way I can still trade even in the down trend.

we don't know how long all this coins will be down maybe until next year so you must have your back up plan, always.

Many people will be on the same boat in my opinion. Now that you are in loss, you need to evaluate  a number of factors before making the decision of exit:

1) How safe are your coins: If you have invested in coins like ETH and Ripple that still have good potential, you can wait for some more time. It makes no sense to sell in loss for these coins as they will surely recover. Fir newer alt coins, it is better to sell in loss also.

2) Also, learn from this experience and do not invest in risky coins in future.

We can not tell for that is the good time for selling insted good time for buying.
I have some steps how i sell my alts.
1) i always monitor the changes of markets
2) i spend time to check every two hours
3) when the trend goes up i sell some of my alts

Some of my investment in digital asset also in lose nearly 50% but i still believe will be any hope for market to going up and i can to recover lose. Learn from the pass and history of the chart of BTC or ETH, i can say the market has massive potential to going up, even will surpase the level highest price a few month ago. BTC can going up to $30,000 in this year and ETH possible to going up to $1500, other potential coins also will follow it , this is my prediction but i believe this is will become reality. Holding is best idea for now to make profit.

It depends on the time you can allot in doing your trades if you peek into the chart only per week that means its less risky but the intervals are quite long just remember to not sell when its below your buy area and don't buy when the prices are on top.. I think the next two months is the right time for us to sell the altcoin out of the market. We should hold them now because the market is falling sharply. According to many predictions they will increase strongly in the coming time.

Sell all your altcoin and start from beginning, for me this step is realistic than other option. Most people will keep hold their asset but as long they have back up fund, their activity will keep running. For people with small fund, they will get stress. We're in the same boat dude because I have invested a lot in altcoins especially in ETH. You just have to be patient in holding your coins because that is the key to success. You will lose maybe 50-80% of your capital if you panic sells so don't get affected by the red days. Buy at dips and sell on peaks that is the best you can do in order to become a successful trader. It's just the 1st quarter of the year just give our market time to recover believe me it will rise up again especially the ETH, it will hit more than 1500$ again.

I think is not the right moment, you should wait until the end of this year to see the best chance probably, I think there is an incomming rally for december if I am not wrong.

I always set my stop loss at 20% loss so i don't think i will see that kind of scenario happen to me.
