Verge has seen a rapid growth for some time while other coins were trying to hold on. And I'm more skeptic about it. Verge was intended to be a privacy oriented coin, seen as an alternative to monero now is changing to adapt (or just to increase in price). At current time media can be a good boost than a real change.
