Well, since the begging system (sorry, the Merit system) was implemented, every day we all see new threads asking, begging, getting desperate about how to get those appreciate numbers under the users' names. For those all that feel they deserve merits but, for some reasons, they don't get it, and with the purpose of helping to stop these kinds of threads, here goes some (useful??) advice:

1. When you enter into a community that happens to be there for years, you should be patient. I mean: just read, and learn all that you can about it before even trying to get your place in there. Show some respect for the work of the other users, for they have been in there for years, and you can't just be at the same level by a week of work. So, first advice: be respectful and humble.

2. Asking for some recognition is not going anyway. As much as you ask for something you don't deserve, the less respect you will receive, so, second advice: never beg for merits.

3. The forum is a very big place with a lot of hidden corners, so just explore it fully in order to find where you can be a useful person. Third advice, then: explore the forum.

4. I have done threads offering merits in exchange of knowledge, but most of the people didn't even read well the instructions, and they posted whatever they wanted, most of them off-topic. So, fourth advice: always read well before answering.and, of course, Don't post unless you have something to say.

5. The merit system is relatively new for all. It will need some time to be fully understood and well-implement. Also, many people here are just getting desperate for they don't receive merits, so, fifth advice: do not get desperated. The most you obsessed with merit, the less you will receive. Just chill for a while, relax and read.

6. There are some new users writing really constructive threads, and they have been rewarded. Explore, again, the forum, and learn from them. So, in the sixth place, learn from other users.One example: there are some users here trying to really help Newbies to improve their skills. This is the case of Jet Cash, who has created this website https://fittotalk.com/english-talk/index.php for you people to learn how to write good posts in English.


7. Take care of your personal posting activity. Before meriting someone, most of us always take a look at his/her posting activity in the users profile. This is because the merited people (at least under my consideration) must have a good attitude towards the forum. If your posting activity sucks, probably you will not receive merits as spected.

8. Never NEVER commit plagiarism. If you find something of interest on the internet, then share your thoughts, maybe a resume and then give the link to the original. Copy-pasting will never receive merits, and, also, you can be banned for that.
 
Of course, there are too many other pieces of advice I can think about. For instance, the language issue. I am not a native-English-speaker, so every day, I try to study and improve it a bit. How? By reading in English (newspapers, books, etc), by studying the English Grammar (there is some app, like Wlingua, really useful to learn a bit per day). If you want to write in another language, then you will need some study (Google translator doesn't work, folks, just try a bit harder). Hey, my English is far from being perfect, but, at least, I do my best!

The biggest problem most of the beggers have is money: they come here into the forum seeking to earn some bitcoin. Well, people, it will take a while, and you will need to work hard. You can't just go into a place and say "Hey, give me some money, I know nothing, I am not willing to learn nothing, but I deserve it!!!"... Um... nop, it just can't work!! So, if you are here just because you think this is going to be easy to earn money, then first learn about Bitcointalk, ok? For in here you have a lot of useful information about cryptoworld and, for sure, you will find your own path if you are willing to learn.

So, last advice: just LEARN. This is free, people, free!

As they say when in Rome, do as the Romans do. Look at the people who have merit and check out what they have done to receive it. Then try to contribute something alike.

Thank you for good advices. I'm new here and I'm glad that I read this notes, it helped me. I am not native English speaker and my level is much lower) But you write pretty clear.  I even go to AppStore and searched the app you wrote,  ;D but found only Wlingua. (I'll try it too). Peace)

Your advice is very good, especially for the newbie is very easy to understand, but I think you should make your thread more interesting again, especially the distance from every sentence you are too tight so it is quite difficult to read it ... But this is a very good post, thanks for sharing knowledge ....

I gave you a merit for presenting your points logically, and laying them out so that readers could scan and understand them quickly.
If only other posters could use this as an example. It would make my search for posts to award with merit so much easier.

Some of them actually write walls of texts and I ain't got no time for that. xD Oh well, It's nothing to get desperate about anyway.

Thanks, man, I've edited the post and included your website, for this, is great. I know, somehow it is pointless to try to make the people read and learn instead of begging. I've been aware of your efforts in the matter, but you are making the difference, from my point of view. I myself have learned a lot thanks to your English improve threads, despite scams are like cancer. I will follow this new website you've done. It seems amazing!! Congrats, and thanks again!

It does not have any criteria, it seems to be an extraordinary question, what do we really mean to qualify, the ability to create big debate, qualify by achieving a certificate, but the need for job skills to give it a realistic look.

I'm afraid I can't fully understand what you're trying to mean. Tha's precisely what I'm talking about when speaking on improve your English. I am not a native-English-speaker, so, if you want to be understood for us non-natives, please try to write your thoughts in an organized way.
Quality? This is a difficult word, I agree (if that is what you were asking). The best way: look for the most-merited users in the forum, and you will learn about what the merit givers consider to be the best "quality" posts.

A very interesting post. And maybe another message to make the merit system is not burdensome. "Good for you does not mean good for others," so do your best, maybe someday somebody thinks it's good. :D

Merit has to be awarded on contribution. Too many people post one sentence posts and expect the rewards straight off!  This is the first time I have even mentioned merit on here other than when Jet Cash asked my opinion of the merit system on his blog. Not trying to be a 'teachers pet' here but I plan on chipping in where I can, looking to see where I can make valid points and posts, and generally help out where i can. I don't think senior members are being awkward by not giving merit- it just has to be earned!  :)

Well, I've taken a look at your posting history and you are not going to get any merit since you spend all your time in bounties. If you want to earn some merit, then think a lot about how can you contribute to the forum, take a breath and then write something. Maybe your first attempt will not be rewarded with merit, but everything is about attitude. If you keep trying to contribute to the forum, merits will come.
Spending time in bounties only will make of you a forever Jr. Member.

I think you are spot on with everything you've highlighted here. I think like you said, the merit system is fairly new so it will still take some time until it gains momentum.

The one thing I find a bit odd is that we need to also have sMerit. (sendable merits) I keep trying to send more merits but keep getting told that I don't have enough sendable merits. lol... like now, I tried to send you merits as well and no luck..says I dont have any sMerits.

You receive 0.5 s merit for received merit, so you need to receive 2 merits to have 1 to send.
This is how the system works, and it has been designed with the purpose of generating new merits to send, but not too much. There are also merit sources, at Jet Cash,  provided each month with some new automatical smerits to reward others. Jet Cash is also trying to improve user's skills and helping them to earn merit by learning how to make a good post.
