Title: Bitcoin Target: Understanding targets and difficulty Post by: Two9A on November 09, 2013, 04:26:57 PM So I'm relatively new to Bitcoin, and I was quite confused as to what a miner actually does, what the difficulty relates to, and so on. I decided to put a quick site together to demonstrate what is meant by the "target", and how a block is regarded as "found" relative to the target.
I called it the obvious, Bitcoin Target: http://btctarget.com/ Check it out, let me know what you think, and particularly let me know if it breaks or falls over. Thanks! Where are you getting the random (red) numbers?I called it the obvious, Bitcoin Target: http://btctarget.com/ Check it out, let me know what you think, and particularly let me know if it breaks or falls over. They're generated in the browser, and are just random numbers to show as a kind of visual aid. When I had the idea for the site, I was watching an episode of some TV show where they had a computer "churning" through random combinations of something or other; seemed like a good inspiration ;D |
