You know, these individuals were red-tagged, including one by me for being an account farmer.  My friendly suggestion would be to avoid dealing with people who have red trust ratings.  It's plain as day to see that these guys aren't trustworthy.  There's also the issue of using escrow, which you ought to avail yourself of in the future.

This is how people get scammed:  Not looking at people's trust and not using escrow for bitcoin transactions.

The Trust rating is not shown when viewing forum as guest.
Is there a way for guests and new people who come from google searches to see it when they are not logged in?

Really?  Then why weren't you logged in and why didn't you pay attention to the one parameter that you needed to so as not get scammed?  You were aware of the trust thing BCT has going, correct?

I'm not sure if guests can't see trust scores at all, but I agree it would be a nice add on feature.

I made my bitcointalk account today.
I didn't know there was a Trust rating until after I made the account to report the scammer

I’ve discussed this scenario before in this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3035620.0 whereas someone on the internet searches for a term like “buy Xbox live bitcoin” and then gets directed here. It’s been discussed before, as well, that default trust ratings should be displayed to all users and guests whether logged in or not. Feel free to suggest the same thing again, but it’s unlikely that this will be implemented if it hasn’t already.

It’s very unfortunate, but ultimately, it’s the buyer’s responsibility to do due diligence before making purchases online. I know that bitcointalk will never assume liability for the marketplace and economy that its users implement, but it still doesn’t look good as the site that facilitates these types of scammers.

I tried to view the trust ratings of profile after logged out,he is correct I is not shown up for the guest users. But it will be better to show the ratings to everyone even if they are guest viewers this can help the newbie people to get away from scammers.

You indeed cannot see any trust ratings as a guest.

When you deal with someone on the forum, you should always register first to see their trust rating. That should be common knowledge, in my opinion. I'd definitely like to see guests be able to see the DT2 trust ratings as well.

The person who scammed you is probably a professional scammer just waiting for victims to pay him as his only source of income. I truly doubt you'll be able to get any sum of money back from this. Any self moderated thread selling digital goods should be treated with extreme caution.

Also why would you buy from a person with only 28 posts ?

I saw no negative posts/warnings by other users under his ads, and his rocketr rating was 100% so i thought he was legit.
I didn't know that he was simply deleting other users negative posts. And that rocketr would not let me post negative feedback until 24 hours after transaction.

He keeps deleting all my negative posts. And his ads are still up today, he still has 100% rating on rocketr and is still scamming new users.  >:(

If moderators don't want to remove his listings, can they atleast release his IP address?

He already got negative trust ratings from the DT members so if the people still trade with him then it is their faults,I don't think moderators will do anything here,if someone want to spend their money they need to be cautious and need to read the feedbacks before.

I think it is a fair request to moderators to remove the scammer's listing. Non-forum members may not be acquainted with the trust rating and will not know of such feature. And since the thread is self-moderating, there is no way to warn other users in the same thread as all negative comments will be deleted!

Yeah, but they ought to have enough common sense to not send bitcoin to a total stranger just because that stranger has a listing on a discussion forum (that probably looks too good to be true anyway).  People just aren't applying enough critical thinking to their financial dealings.  I've been guilty of this myself, but I learned to be wary of scammers.
