Title: Is this thread "good" quality?
Post by: Wind_FURY on April 11, 2018, 06:05:01 AM
Hi. I believe I already reported this 156 page thread more than two times now, but I still see it around and it is starting to become very annoying. Tell me, is this a spambait, low quality thread for you, or does it pass your requirements of what makes a good topic?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1600381.0

The title is "How to explain bitcoin to teenagers or children". Hahaha.

I dont really understand what you are reporting and whats wrong with it if you can clearly explain it I will have a better opinion.

This is an old thread created on august 2016, so for me there is no reason anymore on reporting that and I dont see any violation on that post so I dont really get your point here.

It's on the Bitcoin Discussion board so expect topics like that in there ;D

What he means is, that thread gets spammed almost every day by new members of the forum so we can always see it on the first page of the board. For the OP, it is better to PM the author of the thread to lock it down so that no one can reply to it anymore. I also locked one of my threads a few weeks back when I saw it being spammed with the same answers over and over again.

Can't that topic get locked by moderators? That would be the best solution in my opinion.

Mega spam threads like that are exactly what happens when meaningless posts made just to meet a signature campaign quota aren't nuked immediately.

In bitcoin discussion there are 1235 pages in it. Then, I think the concern of op is not just for single thread. It might be the whole redundant topic in it that must be erase.

The thread probably is spam, but the question is very valid, imo. Teenagers is a huge user base and expand cryptocurrency into this area sounds like a good idea to me.

It is locked now. But it should have been locked a long time ago. I believe we need more mods watching the forum.

No that is one of the most stupid topics a person can discuss about Bitcoin. Read the whole thread. It's so stupid.

The OP want to stress that the users posting in that thread are spamming. The thread seems to be a beehive where the merits circulated. I think that the thread must be locked because it was already an old stuff.
