Hi everyone,

Some of you may know me as the organizer of the successful European Bitcoin Convention in Amsterdam a little over a month ago. At that time, the price of bitcoin was around €100. Things have changed a bit ;).

I'm happy to announce that we're organizing the next bitcoin conference in Miami Beach, on the weekend of January 25th and 26th.

As always, we’re taking the elements everyone loves about conferences, conventions and trade shows and leaving out all the boring stuff.

You can expect an awesome lineup of speakers from both the bitcoin and non bitcoin sectors. Our focus is, and had always been, to focus on encouraging new business and supporting entrepreneurs and businessmen alike.

The conference will take place at the Miami Beach Convention Centre in South Beach, and can hold up to 1000 people. Parts of the conference will be livestreamed for free on uStream with the help of the A/V team there.

The conference will have two tracks, including workshops and a beautiful exhibitor hall.

Personally, I made a ton of connections and new acquaintances at the Amsterdam one. So, for me it was a great networking event (especially for European contacts), and somewhat an informational event from the speakers, too. Though I was jet lagged through most of it  :-\

Don't know if I can get my company to pay for the attendance, but i'll take a look and submit a proposal.  BTC is becoming more and more prevalent in my line of work (we've also been seeing WAYYY to many fraudulent account takeovers where the criminal is converting money into BTC).

Wonder if I can work a table as "Have your bitcoin questions answered" like I did in San Jose, to help out newbies with how to get into bitcoins, news orgs with answers on bitcoin trends, and veterans on whatever bitcoin topics they wish to debate or learn more about. I'd do it as a volunteer, and it was quite usefull when I did it in San Jose (I'm assuming it was useful, because Julian and I were pretty much busy constantly, with people showing up nonstop for three days straight)

This is a great idea. Promoting bitcoin and bitcoin education is a core theme of this conference.

I managed to pull a miracle and bought a cheap plane ticket to attend the conference. I'll be traveling from Venezuela.

LOL but seriously I agree with the guy, if costs are covered I think every paying member should be allowed to bring in "fresh blood", a person who would not come if it wasn't for free so its not like its hurting profit margins (does the conference have food costs?). If you are doing these conferences you probably have some money of your own and its our moral duty to educate the public if we can afford to do so (having some hot miami girls there wouldnt hurt either). I will be buying my less afluent friends (aka those that didnt listen to me a year ago) tickets, but i think maybe a fund to set up "bitcoin scholarships" is appropriate?! just thinking outloud and by no means intend offense to the organizers or the OP, this conference is already priced very reasonably i am not trying to bitch, just speaking out loud.

I think that it would be our best interest to educate more people, if not can I at least bring some hot goldigging bitcoindigging sluts?

With you 100%. Behind the scenes I've arranged with over 50 people to attend who can't afford or are just interested in learning more. High school students, local businesses, lots of people.

Also were hiring a bunch of female models to work with registration and support at the event so it won't be such a male dominant event.

It's difficult to know who is just trying to get a freebie and who can really use a ticket. In our experience, giving free tickets usually means people are less likely to get involved or even show up, and when we give tickets to one person, it means that ticket isn't available for someone else.

I'm a backyard beekeeper who has been trading honey for bitcoin since 2011 and participated in the Bitcoin Black Friday event, and I'm bringing my honey to the conference next weekend. I have a full conference ticket to the event, but when I reached out last week after purchasing a ticket I was told that there was NO booth space left or available. Further questions about possibly wait listing went unanswered and unreplied to, sadly.

I'm reaching out to find out if there is anyone ANYONE who is willing to share an already allocated table or booth with me and my small business, or would be interested in working together somehow (demonstration of a PoS perhaps)?  My space needs are extremely minimal and I would be willing to compensate my host as well for sharing their space.

I have been a fierce local advocate of the increased usage of bitcoin and have long worked to promote a closed-loop economy of people spending bitcoin for businesses that hold and support bitcoin in general. If you or anyone you know would be able to help me, I would really appreciate it.

Why is Butterfly Labs the only bitcoin mining hardware vendor exhibiting at this Miami BTC conference?

The Amsterdam conference was non-stop excellence.

These threads for major conferences should not be so buried.  This conference has apparently a large number of attendees.

From just the dc meetup alone I think we have ten attendees.  The website says over 500.

Personally I'd get those banners and graffiti post them in random places as much as possible. (if graffiti wasn't illegal, but at least it'd be useful graffiti for once)

Nah, I took 2 of my friends from highschool to miami with me, showed them the best time of their lives... Private jet, limos, yachts, and vip at the clubs until 5am every night. Wouldn't have made it to the conference a single day if it wasn't for the cocaina someone gave us.

This was definitely one of the best conferences I've been to. Excellent atmosphere, and a nice mix of entrepreneurs, developers, and business types, without too much emphasis on just business marketing. The parties were great, too, though my throat is still sore from all the screaming over the noise. Can't wait for the next one! Where will you take us to this time Moe?

No kidding. And Moe Levin (amonymous), the conference organizer, and OP of this thread, hasn't said a word here since January 14th.

He is actually a secret agent, usually out somewhere saving the world, and thus typically not available to answer questions, or disappears for months at a time. That also explains why you always see him in a suit, and why he seems to have come out of nowhere into the bitcoinsphere, and rocketed right up to "Hosting conventions."
