Honestly I couldn't care less, this one works just fine and I don't mind the design, at the end of the day this is a forum, there is no need for anything fancy.

The current software is super outdated and doesn't support many modern forum features.
This includes: -2 Factor Authentication -Remember where you left off on threads -Better messaging system -WYSIWYG Editor The forum looks acceptable to most people (including me) but lacks some very important features.
