Title: Use of initials in topics Post by: DeeSome on November 11, 2013, 02:08:52 PM Having just logged on I see a topic headed
"How is DPR securing his wallets from the Feds?" Now I don't know about the rest of you but I don't spend 24 hours a day reading about bitcoin related news and forums and so before I could make any sense of the thread I had to google DPR + "silk road" to find out, the new silk road (SR) owner "is fashioning himself as the "Dread Pirate Roberts," a reference to the book and film The Princess Bride, which the owner of the original Silk Road also used." http://mashable.com/2013/11/06/silk-road-dread-pirate-roberts/ (top google result). Please spare a thought for new forum users and users like myself who only visit every couple of days by giving us a clue as what the initials mean eg Bitcoin Foundation (BF) as i did earlier (SR) somewhere in the beginning of posts. It gives us idiots more time to read and digest posts. Title: Re: Use of initials in topics Post by: gadman2 on November 11, 2013, 02:10:31 PM Yes, this is very bitcoin related. Glad it's in the right section.
Title: Re: Use of initials in topics Post by: Phinnaeus Gage on November 11, 2013, 02:31:29 PM I petty all the newbies that'll have to Google BTC to learn what it means. They may link it to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baptist_Theological_College_of_Southern_Africa
This thread needs to be stickied so that mistakes such as these by newbies are averted. ~TMIBTCITW <not meant for newbie eyes> Title: Re: Use of initials in topics Post by: b!z on November 11, 2013, 02:32:43 PM That would make a good sticky. Common Bitcoin abbreviations and terminology.
