The difficulty is too damn high for anything but dedicated mining-only hardware. Even with a $200+ ATI GPU particularly suited for mining, you will make less than 0.0005 BTC/day.

GPU mining is dead. Mining on nVidia was never alive - mining on Intel HD3000 is faster than the top-end nVidia chip.
