Title: Why can't I earn BTC from BTC-E?
Post by: rushbird on November 11, 2013, 05:29:25 PM
Made an account with them and started earning BitCoins through the Coinbox sites and hit the minimum of .000055 BTC, but I'm not getting a single one at BTC-E. Is it because of the latter's minimum deposit if .0001 BTC? If so, then does that mean the BTCs I earned at Coinbox are lost, or is there some way I can retreive the transactions, accumulate them and redeposit them again?

There is a transaction costs associated with processing bitcoins.

Free Bitcoin coins are often referred to as Bitcoin dust in the community.

It's hard to move them around because the transaction fee will be greater than the value of the dust.

Download Bitcoin-QT to create a bitcoin wallet on your own PC and store your dust there.

Storing them in a separate dust address until one day when Bitcoin is worth much more and you can spend them.

Don't mix them with your main Bitcoins.

BTC-E has a minimum deposit requirement... yes, I believe it is 0.0001 BTC. You need to send at least this much for your account to be credited properly -- faucets generally pay much less. It may be such that once you accumulate that much in deposits, that the will credit your account, but you are better off using an actual wallet, or a service that allows for much smaller deposits.
