Just got an email from them this morning, exciting news:

“Weare excited to announce our intention to support the Ethereum ERC20 technical standard for Coinbase. This paves the way for supporting ERC20 assets across Coinbase products in the future.

ERC20 is a technical standard used for Ethereum smart contracts. ERC20 assets have become a popular way for teams to quickly build interoperable contracts/assets.

Users are now able to import their ERC-20 tokens to their Coinbase accounts, after which you will also be able to trade them on the GDAX exchange.

To begin importing your tokens please follow the steps provided.”

This opens huge possibilities once again. Shall we celebrate?

I think this is a good news since coinbase have a very good reputation in the market i hope it will bring a good empact to our crypto investors to help increase the price goes up again.

just search it on google or this forum,you will see a lot of people complained about their services and actions.
for example BCH distribution a while ago.
did you know that they were delaying the distribution a few months later ? and then they were disabled their trading after it listed on there.
they made a lot of questionable acts.
so it will help ? it will only increase the price for a few weeks,nothing more than that.
generally it won't increase cryptocurreny price overall.

This would be another food for the bull.
And it would make the Token adoption higher with better security and easier interface of coinbase.
A lot of people are still away from tokens as they find maintaining tokens in their wallet a tedious task.

Coinbase has historically taken months to add ERC-20 support because of its scale, and the high security risk that comes with running a crypto-exchange.

"We're holding billions of dollars in customer digital currency. Any change we make to that core business structure has to be thoroughly tested both from the implementation, to make sure it's working, standpoint, but also some serious security considerations," Romero said at the time.

But when it comes to ERC20, Coinbase has another consideration: the Feds. The Securities and Exchange Commission is still figuring out whether or not tokens are considered securities and how it intends to regulate such coins. Some states are also starting to clamp down on ICOs.

The bigger any company is, the more people use it, and the more complaints you will find if you would want to. A lot of my friends regularly use Coinbase and overall experience seems to be quite positive.
What’s more important though, is that adopting ERC-20 token will definitely ease buying for masses, and this is great.

i think its good news? +1 for crypto exchanges where liquidity can be done..

Thank you for updating. But I remember that we got a scam mail like this few days/weeks ago. So I wait until they announce the news officially. And also I do not use coinbase since few years, I do not like the platform somehow. But I hope the news will make a good effect to the market.

This. I avoid Coinbase like the plague now because of their shady dealings. I am far more excited about exchanges like Binance, KuCoin or COSS adding fiat pairs than about anything Coinbase will do.

I have also received an email from coinbase but i thought it was a phishing email as the domain name was not correct, it had an extra l at the end that seems not coming from the real coinbase.

This is really nice. And going to affect to all token prices really fast.
I am already looking for some tokens to buy more which have a future and undervalued.
I think in a month all token prices are going to double up and ethereum price will follow this trend.

It would made it easier for people to trade ERC20 tokens. The myetherwallet and metamask are far from user friendly.
Though the users would lose some of control and options for their wallet.

ERC tokens support coinbase. I think   this is really a good news because if ever this will give a huge impact to the market. I think more investors will caught there attention to invest in crypto market to make market price to level up(goes up).

They are supporting a handful of ERC20s and it would act more like an exchange wallet. We would still be needing our wallet to accept the tokens before it gets listed on coinbase. It just the way it happens in binance or kucoin.

How many coins that they need to support? There's a lot of ERC-20 tokens under the Smart Contracts of Ethereum. I hope that they don't have any conflict in any coins that they will support. Mass adoption is here and i'm willing to eye on this thread.

yup it all add to liquidity of ERC token, which means more project will also use eth because of this.

This is a nice sign for all ers20 altcoins. I dont think taht this step has an affect for the altcoin marcet itself, but i think that this is a good first step for the altcoins to become more and more usable for the `normal investor´

this announcement has appeared at the end of March by the coinbase team, they say will realease on upcoming month, I think currently this feature is not available yet, because I didn't found official announcement from the coinbase team about this feature already released.

The ERC-20 tokens that get's listed on Coinbase will instantly moon like how Litecoin did when it first got listed.  I am holding a couple of ERC-20 tokens that I feel have a good chance of getting listed such as BAT and ZRX. 

Scam alert it looks like it is another scam attempt never open these sort of mail, from what i understand it is an attack against coinbase users and it is a Phishing site to get your private keys, always make sure not to click on those links, book mark the sites and it is important to counter these Phishing activities. The latest news from coinbase is that they acquired a mobile ethereum wallet Cipher Browser.

Before celebrating what this mean, you have to contact the coinbase team whether they have sent any mail in the first place, i cannot see any notification from the site and before clicking any links make sure those are sent by the real team, i have seen many mail from different exchanges which are definitely spam and i make sure i never click any links to safeguard my system from virus attack.

Thankfully never fell for that , I was excited though knowing er20 are now added quite disappointed it was a phishing mail, I like the creativity of those scums. Hopefully no one was victimized.

This was a good move from Coinbase, I personally have problems with them before but there is no perfect system!
The good thing is there is always a room for an improvement, and this is one of them!

I don't know the authenticity of this information; however if true, I think it will be a good one especially in making ETH rise a bit more to the class of Btc; the Apex coin in the Crypto World. Also its gonna make ETH also more popular. Thumbs up.

That's a great sign. Coinbase is an amazing service for me. I haven;t any problems with that company. So i'm glad that i will have opportunity to sell ERC20 on coinbase, not on other exchanges.

I think this is good news. Coinbase has a relatively large influence in the digital currency market. Coinbase users can now choose more coins to invest. This will drive the rise in overall prices. I think there will be a positive impact on prices.

It's a good news for the market, and the Coinbase is really great. If the token ERC20 hits the Coinbase, there will be a lot of people in the market, and we'll be waiting for a thriving market in 2018.

Finally you understood huh mate. You can lock the thread instead of changing and getting more replies as spam to your thread. I see the people worry about MEW. If truly they accept the ERC20 tokens then Coinbase get more users than they have now.
Since it is online wallet and private key would not be shared. Coinbase is not preference to me anytime.

it will helpful for all peoples to before going to scammed but i am exactly don't the coinbase going to support the ERC-20 Tokens so before going to do any think please check the official coinbase  site and announcements.

Thanks for ringing this to the attention of people, but my main concern is that how do these people gain access to the coinbase data and start targeting their users for attack. There is need for most of these exchanges to start protecting their users data very well. I stopped using C-Cex exchange when I noticed many attempt like this
