Title: Does war affect the price of bitcoin?
Post by: zhanghoqi5 on April 14, 2018, 06:46:22 AM
Mr Trump has announced a precise crackdown on Syria, a war that would destabilise the world and would buy other assets for safety. Is bitcoin the best option? I find that bitcoin has indeed started to grow.

Any political instability of nations can influence the BTC rates. Because, BTC has a wide range of uses, dealing globally, not just in the home country. Because BTC is an electronic currency that is shared in the world, if a country is unstable, war, coup ... have a huge impact on the price of BTC at that time. predictable.

USA and allies have declared war on Syria by firing 100 missiles into Syria.

If Russia and China joins forces and enter the WAR, that will be a major WAR.

It is advisable to sell Bitcoins and buy gold and silver because gold and silver protects people's wealth during wars and inflation.

A large scale war is something that nobody should wish for. People when faced with an uncertain situation, tend to go in for something which looks like a safe haven asset. But the question is whether Bitcoin is perceived as a safe haven asset or a risky bet. My view is that Bitcoin is not yet there in terms of being looked at as a safe haven asset. So it will go down, rather than up.

I also feel that bitcoin is the best asset to invest or to keep our prices in a state of war, because we will not be able to carry our immovable assets in the war and that can be very inconvenient, and bitcoin is the best way.

Yes, wars affect the financial systems of all the countries that participate in the wars, which leads to global affect.

The countries who take a part in the war uses tons of money on the army, and it will lead their debt to increase and may increase the inflation rate. Also during wars the customers usage rate goes down which directly affect companies.
Stock exchange goes down, and people may convert their local currencies to gold/silver/cryptocurrencies in order to keep value, I think that war my only do good to the cryptocurrency market.

This is really interesting question. I think but I think it shouldn't affect the price of bitcoin very much. X has money and was investing before in bitcoin but now he has to sell bitcoins to invest in weapons, food, clothes... and pays Y for this suppllies and now Y has money and now he invest on bitcoi, anyway I think that it won't affect the price.od.bitcoin very much.

In my own personal views, if war is inevitable that will happen in Syria, that could be a problem in the  crypto world where this will result to FUD and negative impact on the growth of bitcoin. Just hoping that our world leaders should have a concensus where they should have a diplomatic talks rather than engaging into war. Honestly, I am not in favor of war since that will only be a catastrophe and people affected will suffer more including the children in that country.

If there is a full-scale war, then you will not need neither gold nor silver, valuable will be: weapons, ammunition, food and clothing. But I'm sure that this is just a fantastic scenario that will not happen. If you try to link the price of BTC with the beginning of the military operation, this is due to the fact that people are afraid of falling national currency and therefore invest in BTC.

Bitcoin was born, developed by blockchain technology and can only be operated thanks to the Internet. When war breaks out, network security will be threatened. ..Bitcoin will be affected by the negative trend. At that time its price will decrease and it is not the best option for the property.

I'm not sure what you say. maybe it could be a good option option for the middle east. but it is difficult to do. some things become the cause factor. poor knowledge and education about virtual currency is the main thing. in a war usually the Internet network will die because of war-ravaged consequences. and essentially everyone in this world does not want the war to happen.

Yes certainly a war can create economic problems or changes though an area or region may not directly be involved. Remember that every economy is interconnected and any little change in trading affects the whole.

War will affect every economic activity and bitcoin won't be excluded. To this, it is not like it will affect the maximum supply or circulating supply because all that will still remain but obviously, amenities like internet access will be affected. The inability to get an access to the network will affect transactions.

I don't think wars on big countries against small ones will have much of an effect on bitcoin price, though I do imagine that if the US and Russia goes to all out war, then both the Russian Ruble and US Dollar will fluctuate in price, depending on who seems likely to win the war, particularly if this war results in conquest of the others territory.

there has always been tension between US and some other country in the world as long as i can remember. and not always they lead to war and wars don't exactly have to have a global effect.

with that said bitcoin has proven itself to be a very good thing to invest in and because of that you can be sure in case of a war breakout it will shoot up.

On the matter of wars, well it's obvious that a large scale war affects the economy of the participating nations, which in turn will affect bitcoin is some or other way. They could be liquidation of bitcoin for quick cash by some people, while others might decide to invest in btc in fear of their nation's economy crashing after war.

In the zones of local conflicts, the price of bitcoin rises sharply. We could already see this from the tension between North Korea, on the one hand, and South Korea and the United States, on the other. When there the tension reached its peak, in that region the rate of bitcoin and some other crypto currency sharply jumped up. This situation is much more serious. Not everyone has the opportunity to convert their money into gold and jewelry. Therefore, we should expect that a certain part of the population will invest their savings in the crypto currency. I think that in the near future we should expect an increase in the price of bitcoin, and with it also another crypto currency.

It's possible that war can affect the price of bitcoin. During wars, most governments or agencies, may use bitcoin as a payment method for paying for weapons like guns and missiles. And being that they don't want their monetary transaction process to be monitored they use cryptos to reduce traces. The government maybe frowning at bitcoin but don't be surprised that some of them  are among the big whales.

I think bitcoin is not the best option but it is considered as an option. The value of bitcoin is very volatile and it is not a safe asset. I would prefer buying gold instead. Anyway, my country is not affected by the war in Syria and I am very happy for that. Bitcoin will still continue to grow and I am not sure that the price of bitcoin is greatly affected by wars.

Yes, war will definitely affect the price of bitcoin. Especially so when that country has a large audience in bitcoin. Likewise, the market will be affected. The best options for those countries that will be affected by war is to invest and convert their assets into bitcoin because once the war will be over, they still have assets.

I certainly think that the price of Bitcoin can be affected by war and other major afflictions because many people would go into fear mode and either sell of big chunks of Bitcoin or buy up a ton of it. So far though although Russia warned of retaliation they did squat to stop the attacks on Syria this morning and just let the allies get on with it, which I guess makes the Russians the better people at this point. I believe any type of disturbing event, calamity and conflict that affects people will also have a temporary
effect on any economy, bitcoins is not an exemption and will also be a part of that. War isn't a standard or
simple situation that can be solved overnight, I think with such a developing and unpredictable engagement
it will always find it's way to affect everything that's near the involving areas, nations and people. Though
bitcoins has never experienced such an event, it would be safe to assume to further prepare and work out a
contingency if such matters come to a reality. War affects us all.

When a nation is engaged in war, people tend to seek to liquidate their currency in exchange for those that are not in war-time countries. Bitcoin is the ultimate security in situations like this, as it is independent of any country, and as such cannot be collapsed by war (unless the war is on bitcoin). If I were in a country at war, I'd definitely move into a decentralized currency.

Exactly the bitcoin currency will not be effected with it, if it will be war people will surely save their bitcoin and they will not let the market get wasted like this so I think bitcoin will not be effected by it,  for me it is very important to have patience if bitcoin will get down for some time even then I won’t suggest anyone to sell it because after ending of the war price of bitcoin will increase once again and this time price will be higher than our own expectation.

This is an interesting topic. I will consider some parameters for my contribution:  If the war did not affect countries that support bitcoin, that means those countries can still mine Bitcoin. Those in possession of Bitcoin mining equipment must find way to liquidate their assets to other countries or transfer the mining to more peaceful countries. Physical gadgets or electronic gadgets stand the risk of being damaged or destroyed,  in such case it might be better to have a web wallet to transfer your Bitcoin than storage in Hard wallets. The price of Bitcoin will be affected but it all depends on the area affected by war as well as the level of transaction due to liquidation of assets or sell of bitcoin. Infact, Bitcoin could play an important role to reduce loss in money as people are now their own banks.

War affects all not only bitcoin. War is a very serious topic to consider. Once there is war, all things might change such as prices of good and commodities and also prices of coins. It might drop since the value of it become lesser if we talk about war.

War effects almost everything in this world so it could have a big effect on the Bitcoin price. When there is a war, most people tend to invest their money into safe haven assets such as gold and other precious metals such as silver. However we are seeing a trend now where people are switching to Bitcoin as a safe haven so it would be interesting to see what does happen to Bitcoin if a war breaks out.

Yes, of course, Bitcoin is the best option right now, but I don't think  the bombing will escalate to world war but we still have to see how Russia reacts to it, it will not harm bitcoin price so far it is showing it's not, war between two countries is very much different from world war we have so many wars going around the world.

It will definitely affect the price of bitcoin and most probably negatively. Because at the time of war, people would want cash money instead of digital currency. They would try to cash out their money in case internet is shut down or banks are shut too. People in real life (offline) don't accept bitcoin so it won't be useful to keep it during war.

If we want to get all the benefits of using I S Bitakay in I Barokatha, we get many opportunities. It is important, with Bitcoin, we can still bring our investment as long as the internet network. So my Monaghan Bitakken should be used by everyone.

It could have some major effects, since a war could bring a lot of damage not only physically but also economically and mentally. If the war started on the major countries that we may consider has the most transactions made or users engaged in the crypto world, then the possibilty of the rates will definitely fluctuate. But that will still depend on how does the Government handle their economic stability in times of war.

Of couse, any war is a tragedy and it affects people, governments and economies all around the world. I think it`s not the right time to panic. For now we have what is called moral panic - people make various judgements, suggestions but as it was posted earlier - we know exactly what we are allowed to know. Personally I think that we should continue to live our own lives and do what we are good at.

USA and allies have declared war on Syria by firing 100 missiles into Syria.

If Russia and China joins forces and enter the WAR, that will be a major WAR.

It is advisable to sell Bitcoins and buy gold and silver because gold and silver protects people's wealth during wars and inflation.
Price of the coin will of course fall due to the war. WWII left the participant countries in terrible state. There was large unemployment and inflation. Political instability in the countries was the sole reasons people started migrating and investing elsewhere. Majority of people who have invested in Bitcoin are from the 4 actively participant countries in the war and many from the allies. This situation is terrible and if not stopped, the demand of the coin will fall and the prices as well. How ever the demand from the rest countries will try to keep it in the equilibrium position.

War between the nations or in the countries was so rare nowadays. Because of the United Nation and peace talks. Does it affects the Cryptocurrency or the Bitcoins?? Other say's YES because of the assets that will be lost and sell. No because Bitcoin does't care what was happening but only to save and earn for you.
On my opinion war doesn't affect the price of the Bitcoin.

Indeed there is no way its gonna affect the prices of bitcoin. I mean America and Syria has got their own wars and its about the politics, fundamentals and much more but its not about the trades or investment which ended up badly in between them. So it doesnt hamper the prices of bitcoin at all. The economic circulation of the country will get disturbed when there is world war itself and then that could indirectly affect the bitcoin value as well. However you have to know that there are actually huge number of small and big wars around the world but we dont even realise that they are happening out there. Still bitcoin is here and its going up. So its kinda depends on what stuff the war is really.

War affects all not only bitcoin. War is a very serious topic to consider. Once there is war, all things might change such as prices of good and commodities and also prices of coins. It might drop since the value of it become lesser if we talk about war.
Indeed price of the commodities will incress because of low supply due to alot of limitation. And also there will be no one that will invest in that very difficult situation. It is not a priority so why bother.

I also feel that bitcoin is the best asset to invest or to keep our prices in a state of war, because we will not be able to carry our immovable assets in the war and that can be very inconvenient, and bitcoin is the best way.
Bitcoin is very good, but I think it would not be the best asset. The best asset is the gold, the price of gold will rise because of war, not bitcoin

War in any nation, obviously destabilise the entire world and I guess in war time, the valuation of BTC will increase because in the war time, there will be scarcity of everything and yes obviously the economic crisis will be one of the major issue and because of which, the valuation of BTC will definitely inflate because of increase in demand. Yes, a serious war between two or more countries would affect the price of Bitcoin considering the indirect price domino effect on other countries. However, I am not sure that it will affect in a positive manner or in a negative manner as there are both possibilities. People might think that it is not a wise idea to keep money in banks when things are unstable, on the other hand, people might think in the same way for Bitcoin in such case so it is difficult to predict anything in my opinion.

In response to this question you need to keep in mind a few things. But one thing we have to understand is that currency warfare only happens and really affects when our currency is really strong. In the world there have been many scenarios for the dollar, which was also mentioned in James Rickards' Currency Wars, when Russia and China started to use a common currency, based on diplomatic and economic dominance in many other countries whether the US is still standing or not? It was a hypothetical scenario and it did not happen, but at this stage it was different. This is no longer the fight of money between nations, but it is a war of tycoons with nations.

If it only affects two countries then I don't think there would be any bad effect at all. And this what we call "war" against in Syria only affects one place which is Syria. Syrians are not sending any troops in U.S. Soil as there enemy is also within their country and I don't even know why Trump wants to wage war against a country they are not directly affected. If a lot of countries are affected where multiple places are hit with the war then I don't see any people holding their Bitcoin as food and water is needed and liquidating their assets is needed for them to satisfy high demands, therefore prices of Bitcoin will go down.

Well, the fall of a stock market may affect bitcoins, fiat deflation may also affect the price of bitcoins - so i guess the answer to your question is positively yes. if war happens in a region or country then fiat will surely deflate and the investors (most probably are foreign) would sell out their stocks... and then weak hands will also sell out, and then look for somewhere to put their money. That's when bitcoin comes in handy. The demand rises, the price goes rocket.

The safest way to hide your money when your country is in a war situation is to invest it in cryptocurrencies, this way it will be impossible to confiscate it or steal it. With more people buying the cryptocurrency market will flourish while the local currency will slide down.
It is a win-win situation.

That two of the most important bitcoin on the world markets, such as Japan and China, are so closely in the area of tension is something that could have an impact not only in the price of its currency, but in the of the bitcoin.
North Korea has reserves of bitcoin, nation, or rather, its leaders, would benefit from an escalation of prices. Although the bitcoin is not a centralized asset like oil, where producing countries follow global standards and work together to maintain a stable price. The bitcoin, by their characteristic of being a decentralized well, not usually be affected in the same way as other reserve assets.

However, as already mentioned above, such a conflict would involve, at least more than 3/4 of world markets of bitcoin by trading volume.

Well, it depends on the adoption that has already happened. If a war happens on a country that has a lot of crypto currency users in it, then those people would most probably put almost all of their funds on bitcoins just to be safe which in turn would make the prices go up a lot or a bit depending on the number of people and how big every person puts into cryptos. But if not, then I think it wouldn't affect the prices that much. That's what I think.

The biggest factor affecting bitcoin prices is the amount of money entering and leaving the crypto stock market.
If a large amount of money is withdrawn from the market, prices suddenly fall down. For this reason, it is necessary to examine the volumes of crypto money.
You can make money by using this variant.

One of the great things about Bitcoin is that it's an uncorrelated asset. It's not really tied to any particular sector of an economy like traditional assets. People often attribute certain world events as being the reason Bitcoin goes up, from Cypress to Brexit to Trump, but the truth is that it rises and falls based purely on its own merits.

Yes it would surely affect the price of Bitcoin,
If the war begins and lot of people needs money then they would surely sell their cryptomd it would drive the price down.
Who would hold their crypto when they are dying in hunger ,When their family is suffering and their stomach is empty?

The biggest reason to influence prices is the volume of money on the crypto exchange. If you enter the market in the big mint, the prices go up. If big money is being taken from the market, prices are falling.
It is not known that people will need the cash money at the time of war. But if big money is withdrawn from the market, the prices will fall too.

It could be a major predicament in sense that, If the war starts on the major countries that we may consider has the most transactions made or users engaged in the crypto world, then the possibilty of the rates will definitely fluctuate. But that will still depend on how does the Government handle their economic stability in times of war. Therefore, it is subjected to change at this time.

War can affect the whole world economy and it can certainly affect the bitcoin price. The citizen of a war affected people will surely not choose bitcoin as an investment. The war situation in the middle-east is not new so I don't think that will cause of any price change but a big scale of war can significantly change the bitcoin price.

I don't think the war that Trump is preparing, if it's true, will affect a lot the world, probably only what is related to those countries that participate. It is not a world war or a war between two big countries like USA and Russia to affect the whole world. I know that pretty much all I Co's are restricting people from USA joining and buying tokens from them so for altcoins is not going to be a problem. Probably the US dollar will be affected, but I don't think this will lead to a crash of bitcoin. The price could go down a little since there are lots of people using bitcoin in USA but nothing big.

I think world politics will not affect the price of bitcoin in particular and cryptocurrency in general. because the two things are very different concepts. but here I think that world politics will greatly affect the users of bitcoin and cryptocurrency. because if it happens, it is certain that every participating country will enact an economic policy that may incriminate bitcoin and cryptocurrency. thats my opinion bro :D

Cryptocurrencies are not that under influence of the world politics like fiat money is and that is actualy a good thing.

I think yes, because war can make bitcoin usage or bitcoin transaction increase and cause bitcoin price increase. I think this transaction is filled by buying and selling weapons and others, according to the news circulating reason Mr Trump attacked military base in Syria and assisted by its allies with reason, to retaliate on what America claims, that the Syrian army, has used chemical weapons to crush the insurgency in the Disputed Territory with the rebels. is bitcoin the best option? I think yes bitcoin is the best option because bitcoin prices are only affected by miners and transaction or deals between offer price and bitcoin demand price

You heve to keep in mind few things. But please note that one thing we have to understand is that currency warfare only happens and really affects when our currency is really strong. In the world there are many scenarios for dollars, which was also mentioned in James Rickards' Currency Wars, when Russia and China started to use a familiar currency, based on diplomatic and economic dominance in many other countries whether the US is still standing or not? It was a hypothetical scenario and it did not happen, but at this stage it was different. This is no longer the fight of money between nations, but it is a war of tycoons with nations.

Yes, war will definitely affect the price of bitcoin. Especially so when that country has a large audience in bitcoin. Likewise, the market will be affected. The best options for those countries that will be affected by war is to invest and convert their assets into bitcoin.

USA and allies have declared war on Syria by firing 100 missiles into Syria.
The situation with Syria has cooled down since then. Trump was trying to please both the NeoCon warmongers and the countries against starting World War III, so he shot missiles at Damascus, but gave Russia warning in advance so that Syria could shoot them down. Russia didn't even have to interfere, and Syria got a chance to showcase their ground-to-air defense which bolstered Syrian morale. Ironically, firing missiles at Syria last month was a victory for Syria. Remember: Trump hates ISIS, and Syria recently defeated ISIS.

Israel will continue to raise tensions with Iran, Syria, and their allies, but if Trump wanted to escalate with the RSII-Coalition then he wouldn't be inviting Putin to the Whitehouse. Economic ties are a strong disincentive against war, yet it is the countries with a robust economy that would raise the price of crypto when sanctioned. Somalia, Yemen and Gaza have tiny GDPs, and if Trump were to declare war on Syria or Iran then he would've done it already.

That's not to say that existing trade sanctions won't increase the price of bitcoin. Certainly there are already existing trade sanctions and economic sanctions between NATO and the RSII-Coalition, which can be bypassed through cryptocurrency.

There are two conditions that the war will bring for the bitcoin and will have a two type of affect on the price of bitcoin. In the war many people try to secure their wealth and they are searching for a good place for to secure that, now in war the price of bitcoin will either decrease if people thought it as a risky place during war or the the price of bitcoin will boost up higher if the people thought it as the best and secure place for the wealth.

It depends on the wars. If a war is so destrustive that leads to damaging the city of a country , then that could definetly affect the prices of cryptos because people cant think of buying or selling their coins , people wont think any business because their first priority is to save their lives from these wars. But if a the war is only specific from a small country or on a small city , then that cant totally affect the overall market.

im still hopping that there will be a world peace all over the world, not just for the sake of crypto prices but also to save peoples lives as well.

Wars mainly affect markets. Let's think about gold, silver, petroleum and natural gas prices. When wars happen, people start shifting their capital to trusted assets such as gold and petroleum. Bitcoin is similar, if war happens, bitcoin price will increase.

But depending on how big the war is, if war is a big war then all assets will go down I think, yes we know war will happen in big country, but with a lot of support on an asset, then I think the price will still fall but the possibility of the decline can still be on tap.

If a war broke down among hegemonic countries, bitcoin would be the least thing that I should worry for.
Answering your question, usually countries would be in a financial state of crisis during war as its resources would be exhausted for weapons and for providing funding for military services and products. Depending on the country, bitcoin would be affected but to a certain extent. Since bitcoin has its decentralized nature, there no exist a country where it has full control and regulation over it. The price may be affected somehow and it might be decreased significantly, but it will recover once another country supports its development and enhancements.

I agree, there's a possibility that it would affect the market, either decrease or increase of price, but it depends on the situation. If the war is in the place or country where bitcoin or crypto currency is mostly used, I think it would affect but not so worst. It can actually recover easily since transaction are done online.

And when peace and good relationship will rule all over each country, there is always a good impact to all as well. And when the oil price also keeps going high all over the world, there is also a decrease of our income in terms of investment and other business forms.

To some extent you are right but if a holder dies then what will happen. I think that many people will withdraw their money from bitcoin because during the war they want money because of any emergency and for cash money they will sell their bitcoin. Other reason for withdrawal is this that people will think about internet and blockchain technology. If these two fail, all the investors will lose their money.
