You have to be an accredited investor to participate in ICOs according to US legislation. Or you can join ICO pools.

Hard to add anything else. Yes, if you want to invest and don't want to bother with the accreditation, try joining a pool.

I see not too familiar with ico pools.... any suggestions on where to research?

But also I also mentioned "the likes" cause for instance VIT (vice industry token) had a crowdsale available for everyone. Or is that a worse idea than icos?

thanks!

Yes some of the ICOs out there bother to register with SEC. For example, I am doing bounty with skyfi that is SEC registered and open to US citizens. You may have to prove you are accredited.

Really? I'm surprised. As I know US citizens can invest on ETF that provide crypto-investing...  ammm... without buying real BTC  :)
But I thought if ICO under US laws any people can invest on it.  ::)

By the way SyncFab ICO from US as I know.

Currently, there is no ICO for the for the resident of US and Canada also. But some allow for the US investors with their Govt. nod for investing in the ICO. So, search here in the BTT bounty thread and you must find some of the company that is allowing US investors to invest. But, if you are interested in the cryptocoin you can go for bounty program of the company which are not required any KYC policy for the bounty participants and I think almost all of the company offering this. This way you don't require to invest your own money but you can earn free coin.

US has a lot of restrictions when it comes to investing in ICO. One of such is that, you have to be an accredited investor before you can invest in any ICO and i feel the process of being accredited might not be that easy, which might make so many of those who have the interest to shy away.
Although, whoever is keenly interested in investing will not mind undergoing the process.

I think that today it is impossible, more precisely, now it is very difficult to do, because I believe that now the SEC is very tightly engaged in the integration of new projects into the world, it is very strange that only the SEC is engaged in this.

No,U.S citizens are prohibited from joining any of these potential scams, the SEC has limited or restricted any american citizen to participate these ICOs because they know the risk of losing money from these scam projects.Theres a lot of people who didnt agree with these but it is for the geater good as the SEC is protecting newbie investors from getting scammed.

Check out Dragon Chain. They offer KYC for all of their Blockchain's ICO's. And, While all ICO's are risky, I personally believe a company in the US and in bed with Disney is less risky than "Big Balls Coin"

Yeah US SEC has a strict laws regulating any possible investment, and it is a shame in my opinion. Why do they prohibited to make financial decisions for regular people? On the other hand everyone can gamble all their money in casinos or on sporting bets and nobody gives a shit... I just don't get it.

U.S citizens are prohibited from joining any of these ICOs because the SEC does restrict these ICOs from accepting participants when the ICO has inside the U.S premises. But not those ICOs from residing outside the U.S as far as i know but those ICOs are still complying to the SEC's regulations just to be safe from the future problems.

There shall no ICOs that accept u.s citizens ,because that is how the SEC prohibited those ICOs,because most of these ICOs are potential scams that is why the SEC has regulated these type of investments to the premises of U.S! you should find another way or just wait for these tokens to be available into exchanges so that you wont have to worry about these restrictions.
