Otherwise experienced translators can't work for $5. It takes lot of time and efforts to translate efficiently. I charge no less than $25 per 1000 words on Upwork. Because quality matters and good translation is no less than good writing. And I am from India, which is known for price competition.
$50+ rates are justified for crypto related translations as it is not a general translation but somewhat technical. You need to convey the message in a way that native speakers can understand it and can relate to it, which is called localization. So basically, a good translation requires skills and $5 is not worth the efforts for quality translators. Absolutely right....I am an experienced native translator for the german language and I wouldn't work for $10/1000 words....if he/she is working with the help of google translator, shame on him/her and then even $1 ia way too much!
