Title: ubuntu hd5xxx drivers Post by: enzoR on November 12, 2013, 10:02:21 PM Im trying to setup a scrypt miner with a 5870 card on Ubuntu. As we know, for best performance we should use a catalyst driver older than 11.12 with sdk 2.4/2.5. However it seems that we cannot download catalyst drivers older than 12.1 anymore!
Anyone know how to work around this? Surely some copies of 11.12/11.9/11.6 64 bit Linux drivers should be out there...? Title: Re: ubuntu hd5xxx drivers Post by: painmaker on November 12, 2013, 10:29:41 PM download-page for catalyst v 11.12 with 2.6 sdk (http://developer.amd.com/tools-and-sdks/heterogeneous-computing/amd-accelerated-parallel-processing-app-sdk/downloads/download-archive/) (both 64b and 32b available)
i thought 12.4 with sdk 2.7 should be fine as well, no? and do you know if 64b mining-performance is indeed better than under a 32bit system? cheers, pm EDIT: err- hold on, that seems to be only the sdk... but what about dl-ing it from x-drivers (http://www.x-drivers.com/catalog/drivers/video_cards/companies/ati/models/catalyst_linux/23413.html) (i hate 3rd party driver sites but well...)? |
