Post by: ryanb on November 13, 2013, 08:53:16 AM
Hey guys

Yesterday i received my SC 25 gh but it is only hashing at 20gh i know it is not worth RMA it at this point
any idea if it can be flashed to achieve higher hashrate?

Thanks

Same boat here. Order 30ghs got 27ghs. Bfl fucked us all really good and hard.

Anyone got good idea on LS fix for this type if issue or common problem to check. Thanks.

Well that's ironic.  Exact same story here right down to the delivery date.

there is a small trick you could try it gets a bit extra out of them but dont expect a miracle

unplug the unit and place it infront of a desk fan keep rotating it every 2-3 mins for about 20 mins untill its cold then plug it back in you should see a small improvement in speed

id offer 0.5 btc for it :D

Yes, for some reason, most people can't calculate :)

Sell it would be better, and buy better ASIC which is about to come...

I am not too sure about BFL product but some ASIC come with instruction on how to over clock...

Hi,

1. Try to update the driver,
2. Try with another mining software /bitminter, cgminer etc/.
3. Use another power adapter.
4. Increase the fan speed

Out of curiosity which thermal paste did you go with?

I really doubt whether it really matters what was applied - even toothpaste would have been more efficient than the heat transfer the material that was there was providing.  ::)

Generally IC-Diamond 7, Arctic MX-4, Arctic Silver 5 are the best we have unless there's blackops stuff around.

Nice job fixing it. Question since I am tormenting a poor little jally right now: Do you remember what the temps were, and do you have one heat sink or two in your unit? Did it have all 8 chips on there?

i also did it on my jally i have the upgraded one and it was hashing at 5.5 did the same thing opened it and now hashing at 7 ghash the temp on jally was 40 now it is 45

and the LS was at 50 now its at 60

so that is another sign that the heatsink contact was not right

Interesting. I've got five chips running on my Jally right now and it's holding at 50c ever since I put a big copper heat sink on the bottom and used cheap-o Radio shack thermal grease on the AL plate to board interface+plate to copper sink interface. A lot of heat can be dumped from the bottom of the board; that I think is why BFL stuck heat sinks on the bottom as well as the top and put that side fan in.

I wish I could get my unit up to full blast, need a few more chips.
