Title: Speculate LITECOIN value a year later
Post by: ajax3592 on November 13, 2013, 01:27:15 PM
How much do you think Litecoin's value would be worth in November 2014 ?

I am planning to be a early investor in Litecoin and have something to be happy like that Norwegian guy lol ! ;D

I believe litecoin, in terms of bitcoin will reach a 4/1 ratio meaning that 4 litecoins will buy a bitcoin or something similar. I also believe that bitcoin will hit 1000 dollars within 3-5 years therefore litecoin will be worth around 3 to 5 hundred dollars divided by 4 each around Nov 2014 or the equivalent of 75 to 125 dollars per litecoin.....

That is my very inexperienced guess...

Only time will tell the fate of these alt coins. As of now, there is not even a single Litecoin wallet online, by which we can estimate its plight.

First tell us how many services for litecoin you are going to deploy by then. As its value is unlikely to be a function of time but, rather, of whether people actually sit down and make it useful instead of just sitting on a pile of it crowing about how valuable it is or is going to be.

One thing I see as a bad sign is one doesn't hear about it being able to support merged mining. So unlike bitcoin, which embraced merged mining, thus could become the solid pillar of stability / hashing power to its entire family of blockchains, litecoin is somewhat of a pariah, all the other coins using similar hashing (scrypt) being forced to compete with it instead of upholding it supporting it adding value and importance to it by adopting it as their primary chain in their merge... Nor does it talk about supporting being a secondary chain either, so even as a secondary chain in the event some other scrypt chain ends up attracting all the scrypt miners it is again out of luck...

Hazard, which cryptocoin in your opinion will rise along with the progress of BTC in coming 1-2 years ?

A 4:1 ratio would be awesome, but it still seems high to me.  Realistically something more attainable might be 25:1.  Who knows though... When BTC hits $1000 if LTC is still floating around $4-$5 we might know the answer--but even then it could take time for the two to attain a consistent correlation.  Anything is possible. As the BTC GPU miners move to LTC it could give it a big boost sooner than we expect.
