You can use myetherwallet for most ethereum based altcoins and now too Coinbase supports most ERC20 tokens as well as other altcoins.But if you can afford get yourself a hardware wallet such as trezor or Ledger that will be great as they are the most secure.

The best purse for altoquin is a cold wallet, which does not have access to the Internet, for example Trezor or Ledger, choose for yourself what you like. The best wallet for altcoin is hardware wallet! Yes, you heard right. Only hardware wallet is the best wallet for digital currency. But if you want to know online wallet then i will recommend you Metamask wallet. This is safe and secure enough. You can use it with myetherwallet.

Which altcoins are you talking about?  I use Myetherwallet for my ERC-20 tokens.  I also have a Waves wallet for Waves tokens and Waves asset tokens.  It will depend on which cryptocurrencies you have, there isn't one wallet for everything.

Buy a hardware wallet like a ledger nano and you can store your altcoins. Your private key is never known and the hardware wallet requires you to press a button on the actual device itself to authorize a transaction. For ERC20 tokens, you can use the ledger nano thru the MEW website as it supports browser support.

I suggest metamask because this wallet is one of the recommended wallet of the expert and some crypto enthusiasts. You own also the private key and the password. One thing the best in metamask wallet is this is not prone on hacking and if you compare to other wallets that is prone to hacking like imtoken. Many of crypto enthusiasts lost their tokens and ethereum on imtoken. So be safe everyone.

myetherwallet can only store your ethereum and ethereum tokens, not all altcoins
but a hardware wallet like ledger nano can store more altcoins,
so, its better if you buy a hardware wallet to store your altcoins

I think myetherwallet is good enough for beginners. myetherwallet is still one of my choices for the last few years

Some people recommend MEW. And I think it's right choice. It's best wallet especially for store your Bounty token. If you want to store Altcoin or Bitcoin not wrong to use online wallet, but I recommend wearing a safer wallet like wallet hardware.

For altcoins erc-20 MEW is suitable. For beginners it seems to me easier to deal with Metamask(also erc-20). For NEP-5 there is NEX (alpha version) - very much like metamask. Also suitable for beginners.
