Nah...FTC is solid... and btc-e doesn't represent the 'standard'.  Just means they sold their investment in FTC and will be looking for a replacement.

And let's shed a tear...
For all those poor merchants that installed FeatherCoin ATMs.

FTC has lot of support but will be hit heavily with this. No other exchange can provide close volume to BTC-E and it won't recover easily from this.

I think it will survive unlike ChinaCoin but holders are going to lose lot of money/value.

Why is everyone so sure they will add new ones?

Because they make money from people trading coins. They don't need to add anything immediately just as they didn't after removing CHN but if they see that some coin is popular and is traded a lot on other exchanges they'll add it, just as they did with XPM.

Btw, on a day when CHN was delisted in first news article two other coins were mentioned but it was removed from original article in a minute. Many people in trollbox were saying those two were ftc and trc so they probably planned this for some time.

other coins mentioned are too low in value and offer nothing

I dont think they will add anything for a while

when they do I hope is megacoin, time is not right.....yet

I don't really understand why they'd be removing coins at this point. If I were them I'd be trying to add support for as many coins as possible to compete with cryptsy, coinex .. etc.

It's called dilution. If you have all these shitty coins on your exchange, no one is going to take you seriously.

Good riddance to both coins I say. Nothing of value was lost.

That's true but don't stop people's dreams, DGC went up from 0002 to 00065 when CNC was delisted with people hoping it's the one to replace it :D

Lol, FTC staying:

Dear participants of the exchange BTC-e.com

In view of the minimal volume of currency pair TRC/BTC, from December 1 trades with them will be closed.

https://btc-e.com/exchange/trc_btc TRC/BTC

Withdrawal TRC in the automatic mode will be available until December 31, 2013.

Yours support btc-e.com

Update: closing trade on pair FTC\BTC was a mistake. We will not close FTC\BTC.

Its a bad sign when your coin holdings decrease in value by 50% when they are removed from a single exchange.

My guess would be that FTC and TRC had very little volume, and then when they made the announcement, the influx of trades due to the news was enough for them to reconsider.

Yar, what was the volume of TRC trades after the news though? If I wasn't tired, I'd find out both of their trade volumes since the news came out they were being delisted, and see if that supported my thesis.

We are used to scams in this unregulated crypto world, but that one is particularly funny.
I assimilate that like a banker suddenly pointing a gun to the the customer to rob him.

Now, that done, I listed Btc-e on my scam black list  to which I should never send any single satoshi if I don't want to see them running away.

Looking forward for some sofware trust p2p layer on top of crypto network.

My guess would be that FTC and TRC had very little volume, and then when they made the announcement, the influx of trades due to the news was enough for them to reconsider.

Exactly, the crowd that supports FTC stopped them from delisting it and they listened to that. I don't think this was premeditated, but people often think of worst case scenario's.

Yar, what was the volume of TRC trades after the news though? If I wasn't tired, I'd find out both of their trade volumes since the news came out they were being delisted, and see if that supported my thesis.

About 250K coins the half hour following the news. FTC volume was about 650K-750K each of the following half hour blocks. So about 2 million FTC coins in total were dumped on the news. Once BTC changed their mind, the value shot back up.

Since I run a TRC pool it's the only coin I pay much attention to, need to find a new exchange to try though. BTC-E is the only one I've used much in the past.
