Title: What do you think about private pools?
Post by: ICOpools.io on April 16, 2018, 12:42:32 PM
What do you think about private pools? Would you invest in ICO through private pools for getting more bonuses or it's too risky and most of them scam?

As long as it's promising project and i have done several analyzation regarding it and i may invest a little amount to the project. Most of them and it's not all of them are scam. Private pool means if everybody request the pool to the sales. It looks good we can get more bonus but at the same times it's too risky.

Mean private pools. Public pools help to get big bonus too, but why people like private?

Yes, the risk is certainly there but it mainly comes from icos and not from the pools. For example we can take recent news about SAVEDROID exit scam - https://twitter.com/ICOpools_io/status/986642462860038145. As for the pools there are many successful between them.

When we entered this market we were told that almost 100% of pools is scam. But currently we do not see this tendency. Many pools have numerous token distributions rounds. in the end the main concern comes from the market's color. It's grey :) thankfully we see the evident tendency to whitening and that could really be a solution.

If it will be white pools with legal status and access to the respectful ICOs would you be opposite to invest? :)

Hard question. Private pools aren't much different than private placements in conventional finance. Some people will get burned. Some will get filthy rich. The difference here is anyone can get in, so you really, really have to do your research of both the project and the people you are pooling with.

private sale, means?
It does not matter if the project is good.
You can see from whitepaper or ratings on such as icobench icodrops.
you can also see from the community, if many. can make sure the project is good.

Investing in ICO itself is already a big risk and I don't want to take more risk by giving my money to others and wait for them to send my coins.

This may work if any trusted member you know is running the pool otherwise better don't take a risk for some additional benefits. There are many scams these days online so people will be waiting for making an easy money from other people money. You should be very careful before joining these pool investments.

ICO pools is a way to contribute funds to join private sales but my question is this, the person you are giving your funds do you trust he person, private pools is very good if you have a trusted person who can handle the funds very well.

Private sales are certainly very interesting. However, you need to find people you can trust. And this is not so easy. Scammers become more in this industry every day. If tokens are locked for a long time, I would not participate in private sales. Because it is not clear whether they will give you tokens six months or a year later. But collecting large amounts together is always easier. In this, there is an indisputable plus.

When we started to make a rating, we thought that we would be looking for reliable pools in the sea of the scum and rating them. But it turned out that the situation in the pool market is much better than it seems (You can read about it in our market overview https://medium.com/@ICOpools_io/ico-pools-market-overview-546142230277 ) . We for ourselves unofficially divide the pools into 4 groups:
1. Legal pools. They have a legal entity, a website, all participants undergo the KYC procedure, often such pools have an almost flawless history of successful rounds and distributions. The risks of investing through them are minimal.
2. Semi-legal old pools. Without legal and KYC, but with a good history of successful rounds and distributions. Risks are still not very large, but problems with the law are possible.
3. Young pools with a good history. They do not have many distributions, but high efficiency and generally no complaints. The risks for investors are average.
4. New pools without distributions or pools for which complaints are received. Such pools should be treated with caution, but so far complaints with suspicion on the scum were received only by 2 pools (out of 200).
So statistics is not so bad, but it's a crypt market, you can trust only yourself and https://icopools.io/en/ :)

I think that you need to be careful and check the conditions for participation in a private pool a 1000 times, especially a smart contract, preferably it's  MyWish (http://mywish.io/index.html?utm_source=com&utm_medium=bt&utm_campaign=1).
